Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 102 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complained about excessively high prices, hidden penalty fees, and unexpected extra charges applied when arriving slightly early or slightly exceeding their initially booked time slots. Reviewers also struggled with frustrating booking processes, confusing website interfaces, and payment systems that made simple transactions unnecessarily difficult and stressful. Some reviewers were happy with the helpful on-site staff who assisted with parking and efficient shuttle bus services provided at specific healthcare locations. These particular services made their visits much smoother, offering a welcome relief despite the widespread negative feedback reported across other facilities.

Terrible company

Terrible company. I pre-booked and arrived 14 minutes early. I left 2 hours before I stated but was charged an excess fee. Contacted customer services and they basically told me to do one.

*** Do not trust this company with your car, unless you are happy to repair it at your cost *** Aug 2024 car dented and cover in bird muck, Q-Park did not take responsibility for repairs. Sep 24 bonnet scratched in multiple places, this is the response: For us to accept liability it must be clear that the damage was sustained whilst a member of our team was driving your vehicle, and this is not the case in this situation. The scuff/scratch on your car is not consistent with block parking and therefore we are not able to accept liability.

Unclear closing times, overcharged parking and extra costs

On 13 September, I checked the Q-Park Kingston Eden walk website before arriving to park from 7:30–9:30 pm, and the price shown online did not mention that the car park closes at 8:30 pm. I entered around 8:00 pm, and an employee even walked past me but did not warn me that the car park was about to close.

Because my car was locked in overnight, I was forced to stay at a hotel at a cost of £140. The signage at the entrance only mentions the car park “closes overnight” but gives no clear timings.

The building itself is in poor condition – graffiti on the walls, lifts not working, and a generally dilapidated feel. Despite intending to park for just two hours, I was still charged £21.

I am requesting to pay only for the two hours I originally intended to park and a refund of the remaining amount, given the lack of clear communication about closing times and the extra costs this caused.

do not use this company!!!!

I stayed at Travelodge in Reading and was told that you can get 40% discount .

I get there, tried to book online and didn;t work and wouldn't accept the code.
i was told it will be ok as you can then speak to attendant and he can sort it.

When got there to collect the car, attendant said nothing he can do and have to pay full charge!
ended up having to pay £23!!!!

not a good customer service at all

poor customer service

poor customer service, not really willing to help or assist, tried to combine some multiple bookings or find a solution to avoid having to start sessions every time, didn't even mind the higher price due to multiple bookings, once asked about policies on cancellation and refunding they just stopped answering. Knowing how parking companies operate on PCNs these days I will definitely not risk it

Absolute rip off!!!

Missed the early bird rate by 2 minutes and was charged nearly 3 x the price. Even the offer is expensive and tends to increase every couple of months, but to charge £26.50 for 8.5 hrs is ridiculous. I'll be using a different car park from now on

System Completely Broken

Initially parked overnight at Queensway Q-Park; security gate sensor was malfunctioning so had to wait 30 minutes for someone to come and manually open it.

Get to Gatwick Airport and Q-Park have somehow double-booked on my Reference Number. Have to wait another 20 mins (a process that normally takes 30 secs) whilst they set up a new booking.

Almost missed my flight because I unfortunately had to face this company at either end of the journey.

I’ve previously had further issues with them not opening their gates at the displayed time, causing me to be late for work.

Just a really bad Company that charges premium rates for terrible service and infrastructure.

Secure and convenient, but facilities and customer service let it down

I recently used the Q-Park at London Marble Arch. The car park itself was very secure and easy to access, which gave me confidence leaving my car there.

That said, a few things let the experience down. The toilets were not clean and lacked maintenance, and although the site was advertised as manned, the desk area was never staffed on the several occasions I passed.

I was also charged an extra £9.50 for arriving 29 minutes before my booked time. While I fully accept the policy, my overall stay was much shorter than the reserved period. I raised this with customer service, but the reply I received was a very standard, policy-based response, essentially a flat refusal without any room for discretion or goodwill. This was disappointing, as I had hoped for a more understanding approach.

Overall, Q-Park provides a secure and convenient parking option, but the facilities, visible staffing and flexibility in customer care need attention to justify the premium positioning.

Security Get Zero Stars

I was broken into while parked at Q-Park Mayfair by a hooded man wearing a balaclava, I had some items stolen that luckily I was tracking and found them at a Q-Park Leicester Square ? Q-Parks response was pretty well “These Things Happen” end of … can’t say I could recommend using this company, shame they don’t have a no star to select.

Care at Musgrove Hospital Car Park Taunton

I parked on Musgrove Hospital, Taunton this morning to accompany a friend to A and E. After getting out of my car I could not find my car key and began to panic (my anxiety level is very high just now for various reasons). I went to the Car Park Office for help, in quite a state, and immediately Debby, Tommy and Dan showed such understanding, and compassion and quickly reassured me that they would help me, which they did very efficiently. Tommy went to my car and manged to find the car key which had fallen and become trapped down the side of the driver seat but was difficult to see as it had fallen so far down. Meanwhile, Debby accompanied me back to the car and was so caring in understanding how I was feeling and very supportive. When I returned to the car park they even made sure I was OK with making the car park payment by using the machine in their office to pay. I am extremely thankful for all they did for me this morning and cannot praise them highly enough.
Thank you Debby, Tommy and Dan and my Kindest regards and best wishes to you all.

Paid for parking on an offer for 6pm to…

Paid for parking on an offer for 6pm to 2am - Liverpool John Lewis. It was around £10.50 Unfortunately I was taken to hospital where I spent 9 days. I had to pay to get someone to come up and remove my car so that charges stopped accumulating.

As well as that my friend paid to remove car £25.00 to get out of barriers then I was charged a further £50.00 for overstay. So over £85 for 2 days.

I wrote to them really appealing to their better nature that could they help out or wave some charges or even look into it so just a gesture of good will (not working for 9 days really hit finances). And to see if I have been over charged which I think I have. Afraid no response. I guess they are happy just to take my money.

Would love to recommend them or be a returning customer (i was) but they probably prefer to have £85 now rather than £100 and more in future visits.

Birmingham QE hospital

Birmingham QE hospital, visiting a terminally ill brother, got charged £21 for 8hrs 2minutes where 7hrs 59 minutes would’ve been £10. Where is the justification for doubling in price after 8hrs?? To make matters worse there was a family in front arguing with someone on the comms tannoy about the price which probably added 5 minutes to my time when I was trying to pay. Disgraceful pricing structure for any car park but fleecing people visiting family members in hospital is despicable.

Booked and paid for a space in a…

Booked and paid for a space in a 'Britannia' carpark in Edinburgh via Parkopedia (£26.49 for 1 day + 19 hours). (Turns out it's now managed by Q-Park). Received email confirmation with a booking reference number, and can see the details in their app. No mention of how to actually enter the carpark (how to raise the barrier).

Arrived at the carpark and had no choice but to take a ticket to open the barrier. Now I'm faced with having to pay another £48 for that space when I exit the carpark.

Called Parkopedia and the agent tried to be helpful - no issue with him. Told me to press the button on exit to talk with someone and explain the situation. If I'm forced to pay, email Parkopedia and they'll refund me. We'll see...

Contacted Britannia to see what they had to say. By the way, no sign of any instructions for Parkopedia customers in the carpark - just Britannia signage and Britannia on the ticket. However, when I contacted them, they bluntly said they can't help as Q-Park now run this carpark.

Q-Park tell me they have no record of my booking (reference number or car registration number), that I should have received a QR code (I did not), and that maybe the booking hadn't gone through (it had). Then they ended the chat.

Also, they couldn't tell me how Parkopedia customers are supposed to enter and exit the carpark – they say I need to scan the QR code on the way in, but I don't have one and I don't *think* there was a way to do that anyay (was stressed with a car behind me and no obvious way to enter the booking reference number - the only thing I *did* have).

Appalling service and processes all round.
