Booking.com and the Radisson Red Hotel

Booking.com and the Radisson Red Hotel. Have managed to charge me twice for my accommodation a total of £434 and charge me 4 times for breakfast £148 for one nights stay.

I have been promised a a total refund thus far I have received £217. My argument has been going on since 27/02/2023.

Booking.com’s customer service is absolutely none existent. Inexperienced staff with no empowerment to deal with the issues immediately. Contestants repeating paraphrases read from sheets. With English as their third or fourth language is not helpful. There is a complete block on escalation and they profess not to have a complaints department.

I am still owed £365 and they keep saying I will receive £289. Well the sums don’t add up and I have been waiting now a staggering 53 days.

Shocking Customer Service

THIS IS THE EMAIL THAT WAS SENT TO THE HOTEL:
I spoke to the concierge Thursday 09.02.23 in the morning before leaving the hotel. (Steve) he asked me to email.

We arrived on Wednesday night to stay at the RR hotel at Heathrow before departing to NYC Thursday morning

When arriving at the hotel, there wasn't any parking spaces atall.... unless we left the car around the back at the conference centre where nobody else had parked and was deserted! (i was not going to leave a range rover there with luggage in it for it to get broken into)
I explained to the gentleman on the front desk there wasn’t any spaces and i have had to put it on the end, but have not blocked anyone in (like a lot of other people had done) and i would move it in the morning. He was very off and shirty and said "well its at your own risk and you may receive a fine" he wasn’t helpful atall and I didn’t expect this kind of response from a respectable hotel chain! We had luggage and it was freezing and he didn’t offer any solution to help me if i was to park around the back, or let me know a cut through. Already i was discouraged!

When getting to our room 4202.... it was right by the lifts (I had stated on the booking when it gave you the option quite room not by lifts) When entering it was a disabled room (which was fine) but it had a interconnecting door to next room. The walls were so thin i could hear the man’s conversation next door.
We then didn't have any water in the room and had to ring housekeeping, they delivered but this really isn’t very good service
When settling down we then couldn't find the TV remote, searched everywhere and then had to ring housekeeping again…. Then waited another 20mins for a remote to bought up to the room!
During the night (not your fault) but the quality of rooms are… the gentleman next door was “up all night” shall we say! Not the best sleep before supposed to be going away the next day!

The following morning my partner wasn’t very well, and unfortunately we had head home rather then Heathrow airport. I explained to Steve the concierge when leaving the hotel about the experience and also letting him know our car wouldn’t be in the carpark for the specified time we had booked it in for – due to having to abandon our holiday!

He said to contact him for when we rebook our trip (which will be soon) and he will sort the hotel and parking out.

Overall I have been so unimpressed with this quality of service I have received staying at this hotel, I am quite a frequent flyer and I have used and along with many more hotels at the airport to make the holiday experience more enjoyable.

STILL WAITING 1.5 MONTHS LATER FOR A RESPONSE AND OUTCOME- 6 EMAILS FROM CUSTOMER CARE @ RADISSON (TELLING ME IT WAS GOING TO GET LOOKED AT) BUT NOTHING ELSE

I stayed at the Radisson Miami two days ago. I was charged a late fee after checkout without them telling me what late fees are applied ahead of time when I requested late checkout and it was granted.
I checked out beforehand and still was charged. Petty buisness practices. Not what I expected from a Radisson. Absolutely terrible

Stay at your peril!

Stayed at Heathrow. Accidently left watch in the room. Told them within 30 minutes of leaving but told to send email as they wouldn't deal with it over the phone. So sent email and received reply next day to say my enquiry had been sent to housekeeping. Then received a voicemail and told to collect. On return called to collect but after 2 hours wait told couldn't find it. Operations Manager Chris Spencer was dismissive and really not bothered. Told to write email. 2 emails later still no reply. So who stole the watch??? Restaurant closed so bar food only open. Food overpriced, slow service, small portions and not hot on delivery. Hugely disappointing Service from reception cold and unwelcoming. Queue unbelievably long and slow. Basically the worse service possible ever experienced anywhere we've travelled in the world. Really the worst! Didn't think Faulty Towers could be reinvented!
Radisson have been removed from our company approved places to stay. NEVER stay here again!

Awfully

Planned to stay at this hotel in Vienna for the weekend. Since the plane was delayed, I arrived only at midnight, I was very tired from the road.

Already at the reception I found out that it turns out that you can only pay with a card. I only had cash with me. The girls refused to let me in. As a result, I had to look for another hotel at night....

I received many letters before the trip with different offers from the hotel, but nowhere was it indicated that payment was only by card.

No heating and delayed meal

Stayed at Radisson red at Heathrow UK for an evening. Long queues at check in followed by an unacceptable hours wait in between ordering a meal and it eventually coming. Poor value for money as essentially microwave type meal. Our room was freezing cold but nobody answered the phone when we rang reception several times to complain. When we mentioned poor service at check out we were told they were short of staff and advised to email our concerns. They replied by offering a complimentary breakfast which wasn’t appropriate as leaving early for airport. Refused any form of refund but eventually agreed not to charge for the evening meal. Overall a very poor experience and they could not care less when you have cause to complain.

Visited the Oui Bar at Radisson Red in…

Visited the Oui Bar at Radisson Red in Glasgow on 6th December for food. £13.95 for macaroni cheese, so runny a spoon was required plus £4.95 for chips to go along with it. Chips were oversalted and inedible. Vegan pizza, consisted of pizza base, tomato sauce and 4 basil leaves. No vegan cheese whatsoever and only other vegan option on the menu was a salad. Extortionate prices for mediocre food. Never again.

No heat in winter and 0 accountability or solutions

At Heathrow, London: I had the exact same experience as another person who left a review on Booking.com not long ago and this morning the guest next to me at reception also reported broken heating, so I guess they aren’t fixing the problems with heating and knowingly still allowing guests to check in to rooms with smashed in, non functioning thermostats and broken hotel phones. Not only was there no heating: the AC was on full blast and couldn’t be turned off due to the broken thermostat screen so it was absolutely freezing. They were not able to offer another room because they were “fully booked”. I’d expect this from a 2 star hotel, perhaps but when you fork out the money to stay at this hotel for £200 a night, it’s ridiculous to not have solutions or accountability. We weren’t offered any compensation and had to ask several times - they said they could offer us a buffet token, which would cost them nothing as the food already is there.

Mistakes happen but as several people have had the same experience and reported it to the hotel, I am more inclined to believe that they are still offering unacceptable rooms with broken amenities without fixing the problem, hoping that guests will just put up with it, which I find really unethical. The reception staff admitted they’ve been having problems with heat in multiple rooms but instead of fixing it, they keep offering the rooms. The receptionist said the problem was “out of my hands”. We spent hours, jet lagged, communicating with staff and being told to wait for a knock or call past midnight and the call never came. In the end nothing could be sorted until the morning so we stayed up for nothing and weren’t even alerted. Disgraceful. Buyers, please please don’t waste your money here. More expensive and supposedly reputable does not equal more reliable and you’d be better off going to a hotel that cares about their customers and where you aren’t just a cash machine. This was a painful experience and for the price the hotel soaks guests for, the least they could do was not let them freeze during winter and keep them up past midnight waiting for a solution and then say oops we can’t fix it. Oh well. Hotel should be reported for how many people have had the same problems and having the hotel not bother to fix it, knowingly letting their guests suffer.

Poorly managed hotel

I booked hotel with parking at Heathrow. Location was ideal and onsite parking a must for me.
The first room we checked into was smelling of tobacco and the A/C wasn’t working. After some discussion with the receptionist, the room was changed. I didn’t have time to check everything until 6 am when we couldn’t use the shower because all the three dispensers were broken. The stupid thing was that the broken nozzles were left on top of the dispensers meaning that they had no procedure to fix them. Just wait for a guest to kick a fuss!
We didn’t have time to report or fight!

Horrible experience at Radisson Hotel &…

Horrible experience at Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Ullensaker, Norway.

Was minding my own business in the far, quiet corner of the lobby. Was here on business trip. Watching a football game on my phone and having a beer.

An arrogant, know-it-all busboy approaches me at around 21:15 on this day August 16th, telling me I can not use the table lamp to lean my phone up against and proceeds to remove it while my phone is still there - this despite my objection to his actions. He proceeded to explain to me in a very, very unprofessional and demeaning manner that he had to collect all the lamps and I had to find something else to lean my phone on. I had to understand that the lamp was there for decoration and not for me lean my phone on - I was spoken to like a toddler in kindergarten.

I complained to him about his attitude and timing and asked him to inform his name because I wanted to complain. I would not even mind finding something else to lean my phone on, but his approach was completely ridiculous. I told him that his behavior was some of the stupidest s*** I had ever experienced in my 20 years of travelling this world, visiting 100’s of hotels.

He refused to inform his name and then disappeared.

Guy was about 25 years old, Indian or Arabic in appearance, short dark hair and stubbles and wearing a black uniform.

Hope someone professional in Radisson takes action against such confrontational and unprofessional behavior. Sad to see Radisson not holding their employees to higher standards.

I for one will not return to any Radisson hotel until this guy is kicked out. Total incompetence and lack of customer appreciation.

Booked as part of a package with Legoland. No where to park at the hotel after driving around for an hour parked by some bins. Checking took for ages. Staff too busy gossiping between themselves. Our booking stated breakfast was included they tried to say it wasn't but they rectified that. Went to the room which was supposed to be family room.. Stinking! For 4 star fittings broke blood stains on tiles in bathroom. Stains on furnishings! Room to small for a family so I complained and we were moved to a more suitable room . Staff I found stuck up and rude. When we first arrived we were asked if we're holiday inn guests lost! Would not recommend. Breakfast was ok however no one is really manning the breakfast and guests are allowed to push in push past kids and be blatantly rude but going off staff behaviour they obviously allow this. AVOID

Awful experience

Awful experience. On check in I was told the room had been upgraded to a sea view which was obviously a pathetic attempt at a joke.. 5.30pm requested a hairdryer (the booking stated we would have one in the room) and milk it is now 23.42 and I’m still waiting. 2 calls to house keeping and been to reception who practically laughed it off telling me house keeping are now not working. Woken up at 07.56 by a male housekeeper - several other guests had this happen too.
Was told with the ‘upgrade’ breakfast was included only to be constantly pestered at breakfast to prove this. Poor service however, shout out to the girl on the front desk who agreed in her 2 weeks being there everyone had the same complaints and she was leaving the following week - you’ll go places. I wouldn’t stay here again even if it was a free stay.

Cancelled my reservation at short notice!

I booked the Radisson RED London Greenwich on 24/09/21 for a concert in July 2022 - I have just received a cancellation from them a few weeks before the concert as "they can no longer accommodate me"
Shocking service as trying to find an alternative at short notice is very expensive - avoid this hotel and chain

Endless problems

I attended a conference at the Radisson RED Heathrow over Easter. There were endless problems getting correct hotel bookings from all attendees, 2 hour queues to check-in, and the bar staff had to be repeatedly reminded to not add unrequested service charges to bills. I lost an item of clothing, but was brushed off by reception when I enquired, subsequent emails ignored and phone numbers ring out
