Useless advice /no advice

Emailed these people to ask advise as there doesn’t seem to be a railcard for me . Aged 56 and would be travelling from the South to Leeds. All they sent back was a link to the website to where I had already looked. Wanted someone to actually tell me, yes or no!

UPDATE.
Now tried contacting 2 more times. NO REPLY
Tried contacting their parent organisation. NO REPLY

Total JOKE!

Contacted (via web page) THREE times. No answer. Nothing. And yes, they are getting the enquiries as they keep sending me links to a survey where I can tell them "how they managed me enquiry". Well, you managed it by not bothering to reply!
Once is bad. Twice is terrible but THREE times??? Do you actually do any work?

Did not comply with GDPR data deletion request

I sent them a GDPR data deletion request to delete my account. They said they did this but evidently did not, as 3 days later I can still log in and see all my expired railcards, using both email addresses attached to my account, even though I have alread asked them several times to remove my old one.

Warning: subscription trick

I bought my railcard okay, but on the "completion" page there's a popup offer for "£20.50 cash back". But the small print reveals it's comes with an £18 per month subscription.

DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION - DISGUSTING

Applying for a disabled persons rail card, you need documents that don't exist or are never usually needed!
A RECENT PIP Award Letter is required.
Since the DWP only issue award letters when you are first successful in obtaining PIP. If your award is older than 12 months - you won't have one. TOUGH
You can send all the evidence of very recent PIP payments and any other supporting documents you like and you can whistle. (I sent 13 documents)

You can send a 'Medical Exemption Certificate' which is something you have to apply for through your doctor to give free medication. If you are disabled and poor you won't ever need it. If you are rich, you don't need a railcard!!

THIS IS TANTAMOUNT TO DISCRIMINATION as these are barriers to most disabled people!!

WHAT A DISGRACE!

Excellent service from helpline

I had an issue renewing my senior railcard online, so called the railcard helpline. My call was answered promptly, and I was able to renew my card over the phone. The staff I spoke to were courteous and professional.

I had a senior railcard....TERRIBLE renewal experience

I had a senior railcard - perfectly ordinary one, on my phone, operated by app. I AM BEING DRIVEN MAD when attempting to renew it. I've paid for it. I've emailed customer service and received a hopeless, useless reply. I've deleted the old version. I've got the latest one. IT WANTS ME TO PAY AGAIN, and again, and again. This is a totally useless bit of tech overkill and a waste of my time. I want my money back.I CAN'T EVEN SEND THIS EMAIL; IT REQUIRES A CODE AND THEN DOESN'T ACCEPT IT.

Terrible

This is a complete ripoff and should not be purchased by anyone who uses the trains for business (travelling over peak times).

If you travel during peak periods this is a complete waste of money. I even purchased one for my daughter who is a student........hasn't had £1 of discount so far.
And, a couple of other things; The RC app is absolutely useless and was developed by a 3yo. Very little information as to how to use it. finally, it is impossible to know where to enter the railcard number on the GWR website

Terrible

Cannot renew card online. Same as three years ago!

Been trying to renew my Disabled Person's Railcard as requested by...Railcard. The link takes me through to payment, but then I either get one of two messages. One was that I could not renew because expiry date is more than 30 days. It's not. Then it says I need age verification, which I don't need to do as it's not a 5-15 years card. Had all this hassle three years ago! Sort it out Railcard.

Poor experience every renewal

Every time I try to renew my railcard it is hassle. I am trying to update to a senior railcard and this is my 4th go. It chucks me out of the system then last time it said I had to authorize via my banking app which I did promptly and seemed to be ok...then chucked out again! Sigh...

Ridiculous design - worst ever

Ridiculous design. Can't ever get a signal on the train and you can't take a screenshot. The staff refuse it all the time and I've even been threatened with physical removal from a train as I refused to pay the "fine" - good luck trying that. It looks as if it's all to do with the app having to have a consistent connection to make the stupid colour logo change - that's impossible on the hopeless train wifi and the mobile signal is just as bad at any kind of movement. I'm opting back for a physical one next time and have an ongoing case with Railcard as they won't issue me one as I have the digital version. We'll see how that works out. I did have to laugh the last time this happened though - the guard said I'd have to leave at the next station as I refused to pay the "fine" and I think he was surprised when I agreed. It was my stop....

First Class Customer Service.

First Class Customer Service.. Bemused by all the one star reviews here after my phone call to Railcard today, I tried to renew a railcard last week, made the payment and got a message that the site wasn't working and try later, but still a payment was taken from my bank account. Rang and spoke to Savio, who was helpful, polite and thorough in resolving the issue.

Biggest scam ever

Biggest scam ever
You can definitely get better prices booking in advance when you add your railcard those prices are not shown to you. Also I tried to return when I realised this a I had not used it but they refused because I had downloaded the card already. Please don’t waste your money.

Network rail card paid for on 19th May…

Network rail card paid for on 19th May 2025, reported as sent 20th May 2025, arrived 28th May 2025, expiry 25th May 2026, letter dated 20th May 2025. So basically ripped off for four days, as the company isn't adapting to the new speed of Royal Mail. The receipt email sent said please contact after 10 days if the card hasn't arrived.

Very disappointed that one of the first…

Very disappointed that one of the first links and partnered companies to buy railcards is involved in cashback scams.

It works by the vendor being paid a fee per transaction to display a message saying you are entitled to cashback (normally for around £20) and then when you are signed up they'll charge your card every month and it's not made clear at any point.

Let me be clear, this scam is illegal in the UK so you should definitely book with someone else.
