SCAM COMPANY DO NOT USE

I since discovered that this company goes by a few different names, including 'Cheap Laptop Company', and 'Bargain Laptops Online'.
I ordered this laptop on 22.11.2019, as a Christmas present for my daughter. She had about two weeks use out of it before it developed a fault.
I contacted the company and was given return details. The company's website states that returns will be processed within two weeks.
They have now had the laptop for five weeks now. The level of communication from the company has been very unsatisfactory, I have been provided with no progress updates, and any replies to my emails have been unhelpful; I was informed that the laptop will be back with me 'sometime next week' on 24.01.2020, and they have now stopped replying to my emails. I have also just been informed that my purchase was not covered by Paypal Buyer Protection either, so now I'm $249 down and I don't even have a broken laptop to show for it.

Rude, unhelpful staff.

Rude, unhelpful staff who Lie.
I ordered a laptop on a Thursday and paid for the three day delivery, but noticed on the website it said “most items are dispatched the same day” However on the Friday they emailed me asking if I wanted to also purchase Microsoft office, which was slightly annoying as they still clearly hadn’t dispatched it.

On Monday I emailed them to enquire about when it was due for delivery, and received a very blunt response from David saying that the third working day was Tuesday so it was due then. They then emailed me today (Tuesday) saying it was out of stock and would be delivered on Thursday. They clearly must have known it was out or stock when I initially ordered it, but chose to make me wait five days before telling me.

After reading the other reviews I have cancelled the order, but am expecting a hassle to get it. Luckily I paid on a credit card. Avoid at all costs.

works for me

Well sorry to disagree with other reviewers but so far everything has been good for me. I bought two laptops, one Dell and one Lenovo, the Lenovo was like new and the Dell which was described as having some surface scratches was still perfectly serviceable. When I E mailed to report an issue with the trackpad i got a very quick reply and a number for tech support. They answered immediately, fixed the issue and helped me download stubborn updates. These laptops are great spec, good price, very presentable, work properly and I had no issues with the aftersales support so well done and thanks guys.

Charging for extended warranty is a scam. be careful

Laptop bought was fine. Worked well but the extended warranty they selling is a scam. You will pay extra for extended as anyone would but when you try to claim under that service you have paid for, they do not reply to your emails or phone calls. You will never no matter how many attempts will get through to someone when you call up the given number. It will always go to voice mail and no one will ever call you back either.

They know you cannot do anything about this as I took this up with PayPal too as I used them to pay for the laptop and they said it's not covered by PayPal hence the company is aware that they will have no issue running the extra warranty scam on the side.

Very pleased despite nerves after reading reviews

I spent a long time researching and searching for a decent spec laptop that was within my budget so decided early on that a refurb was the way to go. I ended up trying to decide between 2 and was so worried about size and the spec differences I didn’t think to check the reviews for the site I ordered from (and associates sites!).

The day my order was due to be delivered I looked at these reviews and felt sick as I hadn’t heard anything about my laptop being despatched or due for delivery since ordering. However at lunchtime my laptop arrived.

It was hard to spot why it was a refurb initially, until I noticed a dent and crack in one corner where it may have been dropped, but other than the superficial damage you wouldn’t know it wasn’t brand new.

It arrived well packaged, ready to set up and use, and so far (2 weeks in) is working perfectly.

I am aware I probably could have had a very different experience but thought it was worth sharing this in case anyone is considering ordering from them.

My only criticism would be that having paid £9 for a faster delivery it would have been reassuring to know how the delivery process was progressing

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Two phone numbers given on their two sites but the automated voice asks you for an email address for them to contact you which they do not do. They also do not answer emails sent to their two addresses - I have now requested a 'chargeback' from Paypal as my purchase has went faulty under 'guarantee' - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED DO NOT BUY HERE or from their other site at cheaplaptopcompany.co.uk

DO NOT USE BY ANY MEANS. (See last paragraph for TL;DR)

Complete joke of a company! Wouldn't use them again if they were the only company online selling something I needed!

After my work laptop decided to finally break from 9 solid years of service, I decided to purchase a refurbished laptop as I couldn't afford a brand new one at the time so I just needed something that would do until I could get a new system.

I purchased a Lenovo T410 off this company with several upgrades and quick delivery, but after a few days I had received a payment confirmation email but nothing else. I contacted the company to find out when I was getting my laptop as I never got any sort of dispatch notice or tracking information. I received a short, blunt response saying a day that it was scheduled to turn up and nothing more. I had paid extra for 3 day delivery, but I still expected to receive at least a notice saying it had been sent, something that basically proved I was going to get the laptop and they hadn't just ran off with my money.

When I received the laptop the touch pad was sticky, it was filthy between the keys and around the screen and it stank of stale cigarette smoke, it had obviously not been kept in a decent area. I wasn't expecting something that looked brand new and flawless, but I at least expected something clean.

I had only had the laptop for a month or two and the problems with it just kept mounting up. It was like they hadn't bothered to even check that the computer worked properly, they had just put the bits on I'd paid extra for and sent it on its way! I was plagued with constant blue screens for several different reasons, the inbuilt camera and SD card slot didn't work, the CD drive was faulty and a pile of other problems! But the biggest issue was the fact it had a weaker processor in! It was advertised as having an i5, yet according to the computers system information it only had an i3!

I looked the laptop up on their website as I had taken pictures of the product when it had initially arrived (I've been mugged out of technology in the past because I didn't have photographic evidence of the products condition and its serial numbers to prove it was the item, so now I'm extra cautious) and realised they had sent me the wrong laptop to begin with! They had sent me a Lenovo T410i, a cheaper model with a weaker processor!

I contacted the company explaining all the problems because by this point it was pretty much useless. They showed little interest in regards to the problems and just told me I could get it repaired under warranty (I got 2 years warranty for free on the laptop), all I had to do was send it back to them. They showed NO INTEREST in reimbursing me for the postage or sending me some sort of pre-paid label for their faulty product and they DEMANDED it was sent via tracked mail. At this point I didn't have much choice since I needed something to work on and I'd already paid £280 for this thing, I didn't have the money to get another computer.

I would like to point out at this point, every single email conversation I have had with this company has always had to be ME contacting THEM. Not ONCE did they message me unless it was to answer one of my emails with a few words. It was like they couldn't give a damn! I didn't expect them to message me all the time about what was going on, but some sort of acknowledgement would have been nice! Something to say "your laptop has returned to us, we will contact you when it is being sent back" for example, but nope! I always had to take time out to chase THEM up!

When the tracking said it had arrived back to them, I emailed them asking them to confirm it had in fact arrived (because for all I knew the courier could have signed for it and nicked it) and to ask if they had a rough estimate on how long it would take to sort out since I had already sent them a long email stating all the things wrong with it. I NEEDED to know, my boss was breathing down my neck about my lack of progress due to all of this!

I never received an answer to the first part of my message (I just guessed it had gotten there ok in the end since they never said it hadn't arrived) and instead I just got a blunt reply saying it could take up to three weeks.

Every single email I sent was met with a minimal reply of a few words, barely even a sentence. It was like talking to a brick wall, except even then you would get more of a response!

I brought up that it was the completely wrong laptop and was just told it would be forwarded on, no apology for messing up or for sending me a faulty system, basically no shred of humanity at all.

Then one day I came home to find a package from them just dumped on my doorstep containing the right laptop in the same disgusting state as the first one. I had zero emails from the company saying they were sending it, no tracking number or even a short note to say "Hey, we're sending you your laptop back now", absolutely nothing I just came home to find it dumped on my doorstep.

They're now completely ignoring my emails. I emailed them a further three times after getting the laptop to tell them it had arrived and that a bit of notice would've been nice as if I had known it was being delivered I would have made sure someone was in, anyone could've stolen it! It had been sitting on my doorstep all day and I live in an open street!

And guess what! THIS LAPTOP IS FAULTY TOO! But I'm not going to bother with messaging them to get it fixed, I'm already £16 out of pocket from sending the original one back and they probably won't reply anyway!

Overall, AVOID THIS COMPANY. They are rude and have absolutely no customer service, they ignore you, they don't bother to keep you in the loop in regards to ANYTHING involving your product, they don't even bother to apologise for their terrible work! Their products are faulty and in bad condition then YOU have to fork out to send it back to them when it inevitably goes wrong! Save your money and go elsewhere! Complete waste!

SHOCKING PRODUCT AND SERVICE!!!!!!

SHOCKING PRODUCT AND SERVICE! I purchased a Dell D600 but received a Lenovo.I spoke to James and I was told they were out of stock and they sent a replacement and that he preferred the Lenovo. I specifically ordered the Dell and if it was not in stock should have been advised. It was old, tatty, with a very used key pad and the screen was slightly fuzzy with a message on the screen stating the windows application wasn't genuine! I was advised to return the laptop and have so far been unable to get my postage cost of £13 refunded. I even got a threatening mail as I had given the incorrect tracking number even though it had been delivered back and signed for the week before, stating I had one to chance to return it or they were contacting the police and having me for Fraud! No checking with me first. I only wanted a DELL my daughter and ended up with no laptop and a stressful and tearful few days of dealing with the unhelpful, rude person who represents this company.
