This is a small group tour well worth considering. It covers a lot of ground but the experience is excellent, particularly the overnight train from Tashkent to Urgench . The sites you visit are impressive and our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the country. The hotels used are well located, particularly in Khiva and Bukhara. However the only reason it's not a 5* review is the alternative hotel provided in Samarkand was not a suitable alternative to the one included in the brochure. I know circumstances mean changes can occur, but the alternative has to be comparable.

tours are extremely well organised and everything is taken care of in advance of your tour. Guides are knowledgeable, friendly and speak excellent English. The small tours (ours was only 14 people) are especially good because it is really easy to bond with everyone and get to know people. You don't spend time on the periphery and trying to understand what is being said.

We went on the 14 day small group tour to Uzbekistan. The organisation was impeccable and our tour guide in particular was fantastic; fluent in English (as well as Uzbek, Russian and number of other languages), knowledgeable, informative, unflappable and funny. The hotels were of high standard (though the last one in Samarkand was a last minute substitution and was a bit corporate and bland). Food was varied, authentic, and much, much better than we had been led to expect. Generous quantities meant we rarely needed to eat again in the evening. The itinerary ensured we had free time to explore each of our destinations, shop or relax. we appreciated taking the night train from Tashkent to Urgench, rather than flying as many other tours do.

The itinerary fitted the areas of Georgia I had requested. We saw lots of interesting things. The accommodation was excellent and of the standard we had discussed. We had asked for lots of Georgian food and we certainly got that. Our guide was very good at suggesting dishes to try. I particularly enjoyed visiting the country restaurants in peoples houses.

We made some minor alterations to the itinerary on the day (changing departure times slightly and occasionally not visiting some of the sights. The guide coped well with that.

There were a couple of times when we felt the timings were a bit too tight. Too many things to travel to and visit within the timescale in the itinerary. We coped by either finishing late or curtailing something but it was not a big deal.

We would have liked a tea/coffee break in the mornings when we were travelling. 3 hours without a tea break was hard going. We did mention it to our guide and she accommodated us, but that then added 20 or 30 minutes to our travel time. Our guide was very good at advising on where we could find toilets and which were better than others. She worked hard to please us. (She seemed worried that we might miss out on anything. We had a great time and did not feel we had missed anything at all). Our driver was excellent too. And careful.

My wife and I are no longer very fit but our travel companions were super fit and wanted to walk and climb everything in sight. So on a couple of the trickier visits eg the cave villages which involve a fair bit of climbing and uneven surfaces, we split up with 2 or 3 doing the full visit and 1 or 2 staying in the cafe. That worked well.

I would definitely recommend Regent & Georgia to others.

A wonderful trip to start with! Add in excellent communication and support from staff (Rob), excellent organisation on vacation and brilliant support with travel disruption.

We enjoyed our experience in a beautiful and special place.The excursions were excellent and everything went as planned in the itinerary. The only negative part of the experience was the totally daft stop in Tromso on the way back when we were given contradictory info regarding the necessity to reclaim our bags before going back through security to check into our same seats. Luckily we were rescued in baggage reclaim by the pilot of our plane who agreed that it was bureaucratic nonsense and had delayed many a flight in the past.

Estonia was a beautiful, un-spoilt and interesting place. We didn't know much about the country before we went, hence asking Peter at Regent to help us! We opted to drive ourselves around which worked really well, and Peter provided us with suggestions of things to do and explore but at the same time we had flexibility and freedom. We loved everything about the country - the nature, the forests and bog walks, the spas, the medieval towns, the food, the crafts and the warmth of the people. Learning about some of the history/culture of Estonia was a surprising bonus for us - the museums were fantastic. We will definitely go back.

Good hotels, excellent guides in each city and prompt and efficient drivers between each city.

I had used Regent as long ago as 1979 when I travelled to Greenland. When my holiday with another company was cancelled this month, my first thought was to go North and see if Regent was still operating - and they are!

We contacted Regent to put together a trip to Norway to include a cruise from Bergen to Kirkenes with a few days in Bergen and Oslo and a trip on the Flam railway. Right from the start Peter got what we were after and put together an itinerary which was really well thought out and covered everything from the flights to transfers, to booking transport from airports, to porterage between Oslo and Bergen together with a lovely sea view cabin on the Havila cruise, and at a very realistic and competitive price. The hotels chosen were Thon hotels and all were fantastic and great central locations. Everything was brilliantly documented and we had clear instructions when we were travelling from point to point. I would say we have used many travel companies in the past and Regent, in our experience, is one of the best we have ever travelled with. I would recommend 100%.

Regent arranged a bespoke 2 week touring holiday in Norway for us. They booked flights, transfers, hotels, car hire and ferries. Everything worked out 100%. Their consultant was very helpful and efficient in working out the itinerary with us, and very responsive to queries. Very happy to recommend.

From start to finish Regent were spot on with any questions answered quickly by the knowledgable advisor. On arriving at our first hotel of 6 in Malaysia the service and transitions were seamless and the drivers and guides excellent. Hotels were perfectly placed and all as expected and beyond.
Only had to chase one pick up time and Regents were straight on it chasing the local company booked to collect us.
Could not fault the service making this the dream holiday we were hoping for.

Great range of holiday options and ability to offer bespoke options, supported throughout by a very supportive and experienced team.

We had wanted to go visit some part of the silk road for a number of years and settled on Uzbekistan. Carl Meadows put together a bespoke tour for us;Tashkent then bullet train to Bukhara for two days then bullet train to Samarkand for two days and back for another day in Tashkent. Every thing was arranged for us and we had an exciting itinerary. Locally we had fantastic guides for each section of the trip.
It was flawless and we will be looking to travel with Regent again. This was one of our most memorable experiences.

Petonal contact with rep who had lived in the country I visited was excellent.
I did not however get entirely what I had expected. The guides provided gave good cultural tours but we were not well looked after in terms of accessing accommodation and trains, eg locating hotel, rooms of differing quality on different floors, carrying own luggage, porterage at stations, left with drivers who spoke no english . Not a properly accompanied tour.

Tailor-made, boutique holidays. Great office team delivering the experiences promised. A Norwegian holiday to remember.

Regent Holidays did an excellent job for us. All the arrangements on our tailor-made holiday to Helsinki, Estonia and Riga worked exceptionally well. The staff at Regent were very efficient and extremely helpful.

The lead up to our trip was professional and helpful. Everything was explained clearly. Thee hotel was well positioned, rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfasts were very good. We had booked two island tours. Both were well paced with good guides.
However, our pick up on the first one was around 20 minutes late and the second 40 minutes late. We contacted the tour company and In both cases we were told that this was due to the need for pickups from other hotels. We discovered from guides that, in fact, in both cases only one prior pick-up was needed and that the delay was due to them being given the wrong hotel details for us.,
