So much NOT to like
So much not to like. My friend and I bought one nights accommodation WITH SPA ACCESS and arrived at the hotel at 8pm. We had not eaten and they said restaurant is now closed ! Reception recommend Vinotek near by so we went there and had average but expensive dinner. Returned to hotel told Spa is closed now, open again at 9am. So next morning at 09:30 put on dressing gown provided in the room but and can’t find any slippers. Put on boots and went to reception to check on our free access to spa included in the price and was told needed slippers/flip flops to access. None provided, must buy at €2.50 a pair. I said what ! This is a 4 star hotel with spa access I will not pay that, so I will wear my boots. Arrive at spa reception and given towel. Go into spa wearing swimming shorts see a sign no swim shorts, only swim trunks ! Go to spa, man stops me says you need a swim cap. Go back to spa reception and lady says €2 each, I said what !! Refused to pay. Gents Sauna had no sand timer, only room for 4 people. Just as we arrived at Spa a lot of people from outside arrived as paying guests off a bus I think, hotel guests treated last. Add to this the high price of €22 each simple buffet continental breakfast, €25 car parking, no English language welcome booklet, dirty bathroom extractor fan, no milk for tea or coffee in room AND THE FACT THEY PROVIDED A DOUBLE BED AND NOT TWO SINGLE BEDS as requested in advance at time of booking and in an email to double check (my male mate and I need single beds) it was awful. The duty receptionist had to come to our room when we first saw it to make the double into two singles with extra sheets and duvet etc; whilst he muttered ‘not my job to do this’. So we will never stay there again and do not recommend it.
