They sent me two kids to move a house full of heavy furniture.
Complained when asked to take stuff upstairs. Did not reassemble all and I did not go upstairs to check before they left. Was asked to use my drill and drill came up missing.
Scraped and gashed on brand new walls/doors
Dispatch is in Wyoming so they don’t care once they have the funds.
Dishonest Business Practices
This has to be one of the most unprofessional business transactions I’ve ever encountered. On September 14th, I was approved for my new home and promptly began searching for a moving service. I contacted Rio Moving and scheduled a move for September 30th. However, on September 29th, they reached out to reschedule to Thursday, which is a nightmare scenario for anyone familiar with the moving process and the potential fallout from property managers. They assured me they could stick to the original date, yet on September 30th, no movers showed up, and they made no attempt to contact me.
When I reached out, they suggested moving me on Wednesday, October 2nd. I insisted on an earlier date since they had already failed to honor our agreement. Finally, on October 1st, they promised movers at 5 PM. That time came and went without any communication from them. They then rescheduled for 8 PM, but once again, no one arrived. I was told 10 PM would be the latest. Yet again, there was no show and no contact.
On October 2nd, I called Rio Moving to find out what was going on. Shawn, the dispatcher, seemed completely unaware that my move hadn’t been completed. He claimed he needed to reach his mover, Robert, but couldn’t. After much effort, I finally connected with Robert, who assured me that Ronald would finish the job, which was now three days overdue. Ronald eventually contacted me after multiple attempts on my end, only to inform me he couldn’t help due to sudden family issues.
At this point, I had already hired another moving company to complete the job. Under no circumstances would I ever recommend doing business with this dishonest company. They epitomize unprofessionalism and can leave you in a dire situation. It’s clear they are likely understaffed but chose to mislead customers to secure sales, delaying services until they finally had workers available. Honesty should be fundamental in any business, and your money is better spent elsewhere. Beware!
Poor Experience
The movers came to my house in a small U Haul branded truck. They brought no dolly and lacked proper tools to do the job. Because they lack proper equipment, the move took long then it needed too. When there movers went 15 minutes over the time, thet tried to say they were done without tell us the total cost. Had I not spoken up they would have charged me for 4 hours, but left after we 3.25 hours.
Speaking with their office after the disappointing service was a waste of time. They used excuses for their employees poor performance, blamed me for their staff not having a dolly and tried to make excuse as to why they didn’t need a dolly.
Won’t be using again.
They did everything right.
Rio Moving provided us with exceptional service, thanks to Mason and Wyatt! Their professionalism and expertise were evident from the start. Mason's attention to detail ensured our belongings were packed securely, while Wyatt's strength and efficiency made our move effortless. Choosing Rio Moving was the best decision we made, and Mason and Wyatt's hard work and dedication made the experience stress-free. Highly recommend!

Company 2 hours late even though booked months in advance. Stopped to get gas on my time when clock was started. Items were broken.

We were thoroughly impressed by Rio…
We were thoroughly impressed by Rio Moving from start to finish. Every interaction throughout the process was impeccably timed. Communication was consistently polite and professional. The crews were punctual, courteous, respectful, and handled our furnishings with care. Working with them was a pleasure, and I wholeheartedly recommend this company and its team to anyone undertaking a self-move.
Unreliable moving company
Rio Moving claims to offer reliable moving services, but my experience with them was nothing short of a nightmare. Despite booking them a month in advance, they had the audacity to cancel my move just an hour before they were supposed to show up. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for their customers' time is utterly appalling. To make matters worse, they offered no alternative solutions or even a semblance of apology for their incompetence. Save yourself the headache and avoid Rio Moving at all costs unless you enjoy dealing with rude and unreliable service.

Rio movers subcontracts jobs out to…
Rio movers subcontracts jobs out to companies that will steal your stuff. I recently paid over $2,000 to Rio Movers and my experience was terrible. Not only did the movers break my furniture they also left behind most items. At least I think they left them behind or all items were stolen. In short Rio Movers is not liable for hiring sub contractors to steal and break your items. I suggest hiring movers that are trustworthy and Rio Movers is not. I'm beyond upset, I feel violated
Missing Items and Poor Customer Service
I normally never leave bad reviews for businesses, but I had a very very poor experience with Rio Moving. My movers showed up 2 hours late and took over 5 hours to move a small studio apartment, which should not have taken as long. After moving to the new apartment, I realized that some valuables were missing, and the Rio Moving team has done nothing to cover the damages and losses that they are legally responsible for, per the contract that was signed prior to booking.
Missing items - won’t get refunded
I moved with Rio Moving in July 1st. Everything seemed to be going well, even with delays since the movers notified me, until we were headed to the 2nd place. I specifically asked the movers if they would like confirmation of the drop off location and they said no. Half an hour later (new place was 15 minutes away) I had to ask where they were and they said they would be another 10 minutes since GPS sent them the wrong way. They unloaded and said the move was longer than it actually was, but I felt bad as they moved me in the rain and down a terrible flight of stairs from my pick up location. So I paid them more knowingly, and did not report this or the extra time it took them to get to my drop off location since I thought it was just an irritating mistake.
However, later I realized the movers had taken my landlords moving mat, and also 4 shelves that go inside of one of my bookcases. I contacted the moving persons and was told they would bring the mat the next day. I still haven’t gotten my landlords mat back.
I ended up emailing rio moving’s email and they refused to believe me about the bookcase shelves being missing. They confirmed with the movers that their truck was empty at the end of the move, but my shelves are no where to be found. My old landlord even did two walk throughs through my old place to confirm!! I even had to send pictures of my things packed up (lucky I did this) and sent them a video of my empty old apartment showing the movers had them in their truck for the move at some point.
I have still been trying to contact the movers themselves and rio moving about these for a refund, with no responses. Please do not use them at all.
Fraud Company : Do not book any moving
I booked my moving on 30th and 1 day before they cancelled saying that moving guys has issue on permit so they can not give service. In hurry I booked other movers for that i have to pay extra money as i booked last min. They are truly unprofessional and do not believe on those guys. Beware of those fraud company.
Rio Ran dry
I purchased two movers for two hours to move my most valuable furniture- seven items in all. They sent one person who was doing is best to get it done in two hours appreciated but not fully completed. In the end he dragged and tossed items in the pod he left gaps and made spaces inaccessible. He took my moving pads off and said he had to take out the drawers to move the items. Not necessary with two people. He damaged the runners when taking the drawers out and eventually was tired and careless. I asked him to leave at time because it was clear to me he was not concerned with my items. Not trained movers but eager.
False advertisement
False advertisement, horrible, terrible company, there are somany things that went wrong. I WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. After payingthe driver $750.00 to RIO Movers, I noticed that all my moving 15 blankets thatthe Crew Manager nicely packed up and put back into his truck was stolen. RIOMOVER refused to accept any responsibility, Mike tries to threaten me andclaims that it was a mistake, how is taking 15 blankets a mistake? I was notgiven any receipt at the end of the move. I'm not even going to write my entireexperience because it was a nightmare. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! I DONOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL MAY 2023 you will be sorry, and it will costyou a lot of money TRUST ME DO YOUR HOMEWORK RESEARCH OTHER MOVING COMPANIES.
Thank you for helping us
Shawn helped us to schedule and and arrange the movers. Robert was the manager in the mover team. He and his crew arrived 5 min earlier. They did a fantastic job. By the way, Robert was very strong and powerful.
DO NOT USE THEM
This was the WORST moving experience I have ever had. If you’re looking for quick and efficient movers look elsewhere. If you’re wanting your move to take 12 hours then this is the place for you. I was originally scheduled (scheduled weeks in advance) for a 9-10am time slot. I called the movers 10 mins before 9 to ask them to give me a call when they’re 10-15 mins away. I was told during this call that they wouldn’t be arriving until 10:15-10:30 due to “traffic”. I said okay and waited for that time. Then that time came and passed and they were nowhere to be found. I called the movers again directly (his name is Robert) and he didn’t answer. I called again at 10:45 and they were nowhere to be found and didn’t pick up the phone so I called Rio moving who reached out to Robert who told them he was about 5 minutes away. I rushed to put my cats away and he still didn’t show up after that for about 15 more minutes. When he gets there he moves so slowly. I understand that they do wrap up the furniture to make sure it’s safe and it does take awhile but as someone who hired movers, I shouldn’t have to help them. I brought things out to them to pack in the truck, wrapped my own TVs and monitors, and even had to pack stuff in my own vehicle. At that point I might as well just moved myself. It took about 4 hours to pack up a 2 bedroom apartment that’s 1,500 sq ft with primarily just furniture. They made comments every time they had to pack stuff like “oh we need to take this too”. They took phone calls (not work related) and would just stop to chat. When we finally packed up and left, my new place was only 41 minutes away with traffic. Now since it was a 26 fr box truck, it would take them longer than it took me by about 20 minutes or so. It took them 2.5 hours to arrive at my new place because they had to take a “bathroom break and fill up the truck” that they claimed only took 30 minutes. I called Rio several times saying that they hadn’t arrived and they’d call Robert in which he’d reply he was only 20 minutes away. Those 20 minutes passed and he didn’t show up. I’d call again and be told it would be 5 more minutes. 5 minutes passed and he still didn’t show up. I called Rio about 5-6 times and spoke with Walter primarily the “manager” and he even noticed that when Robert told him 5 minutes while I was on the phone with him that a whole 11 minutes had passed since that discussion and still no Robert. When they finally arrived, he unpacked just as slowly as he packed. If it wasn’t for the other mover Ronnie, who knows how long it would have taken. Again I had to help them because if I didn’t I wouldn’t have been unpacked in my home until about 10pm when they started at 11am. This whole move that was originally estimated for about 3 hours and only $485 turned into an 8 hour move and I owed them $900. Not sure how these other reviews have great stars because this was a horrible experience. And every time I told them what was happening, they only cared about how it never happened before and how they have 5 stars. Well guess what now you have one.
Horrible company!! Unprofessional!!
The 2 movers we scheduled never showed up so Brent supposedly sent 2 new guys to move my daughter and only one showed up to load truck. Supposedly both movers were supposed to meet my daughter at her new apartment and they never showed up after he was paid in full!! Terrible customer service; no one answered the phone!! I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy!! 🤬🤬🤬
Now I will tell you that I spoke with Rio Movers this morning and they gave a full refund plus. I am happy by the way they handled my situation!! Thank you!!
Worst moving company ever
Worst moving company ever. Movers canceled on me an hour before my move because I wouldn't pay him an extra $100 to him making his pregnant wife do his work. Will NEVER use them again.
