We purchased a used 2010 Silver…

We purchased a used 2010 Silver Vauxhall insignia 2.0 CDTI from Rotherfield Car Sales Ltd on the 19th of July 2025. Within 24 hours the car developed issues going into gear. We reported this and followed their advice to book it into a local garage for inspection.

Before that appointment, the car stalled and we noticed a fluid leak. Rotherfield collected it on the 30th of July. Over the next week, there were delays while they attempted to check if the previous clutch/flywheel work (done in January of 2024 - by another garage) might still be under warranty - despite us having a warranty with them.

Initially, they told us the fault was with the slave cylinder, ordered a part, and booked it into another garage for replacement. A few days later, this changed to them saying the lines had been been bled, ''sludge'' was found, and the bite point was ''back to normal'' -no part would be replaced. We were offered the car back in this state or a refund.

Given the short time we had owned the car, the presence of sludge in fluid that had been replaced just last year, and the change in repair plan, we chose to reject the vehicle and take a full refund under our consumer rights.

While we appreciate that a refund was offered, the experience left us without transport for over a week, caused us additional costs and raised concerns about the handling of the repair process.

Bought a 2009 Ford KA from Peter…

Bought a 2009 Ford KA from Peter Chambers on Friday, 19 February 2019 and on Sunday, 3 March 2019 the car would not start, so called out Green Flag. The mechanic got the car started saying the new starter motor was blocked. This starter motor was put into the car the day before I picked it up on the Friday, as told to me by Peter.

I sent a text to Peter Chambers saying I wanted to sell the car back to him and he replied saying "I'll speak to my partner but we have enough Ford KA's".

On Tuesday, 5 March 2019, the car would not start again and had to call out an independent auto repairs. He said the starter motor is not new.

Rotherfield Enterprises are too concerned with making their cars look nice on the outside with number plates with their name on and a sticker in the back window, to care about what is going on under the bonnet.

Really friendly staff, with a professional attitude

Following our searching the internet for a particular model of car, we were fortunate enough to find the vehicle we wanted, being sold at Rotherfield Enterprises.

When we called at the showroom to look at the car, we were met by one of the Directors, Peter Chambers, who was extremely professional in his dealings with us and nothing was too much trouble for him (the exhaust needed changing and he immediately confirmed this would be done). He instantly offered us a test drive, which we gladly took up his offer and combined with the beautiful condition of the car, as well as Peter's superb service, we did not hesitate to purchase the vehicle, of which we are absolutely delighted with. Peter kept us updated, from beginning to end, as to when the vehicle would be ready (following a service and MOT).

Unfortunately, my husband left his glasses, as well as our leaving 2 other items, which we had no idea we had left these in the vehicle which we offered as part exchange for the one mentioned above, but Peter contacted us and offered to bring the items to our home (some distance away from the showroom), in order to save us the time in going all the way there to collect them.

Without a doubt, we would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to purchase a car, due to Peter's approachable manner, combined with his professional attitude/superb customer service. May we also mention, the other Director's name J.J., although we dealt with him briefly during the purchase procedure, he was equally as professional in his dealings with us.

Thank you so much!
