Human Checkouts!have been shopping at Sainsbury’s…
I have been shopping at Sainsbury’s since the late 1960’s early 1970’s - Winchester and Andover and hope that they will keep Human Checkouts!!!
Great Shopping Experience!!
Found that there are plenty of good offers. Plenty of room in the aisles between well stocked shelves, chillers and freezers. Helpful and friendly staff.

Our delivery driver was fantastic today. He went out of his way to be very helpful.
Poor customer service
To often good are short dated, 2 days, eg Potato salad. Driver takes product back but to replace I have to drive to Tesco.
Failure to offer delivery when it clashes with Reading festival, yet Tesco do online deliveries. Nobody takes responsibility for when it is clear the local online manager diverts resources to festival. Thus has gone kn for years but never once has my deliver pass been extended.
Could improve
I like the store but my biggest complaint is on fresh fruit and veg as the sell by date is only a couple of days. Today I bought strawberries and I had to throw away about half the container! This happens on a regular basis. I don’t have time to take them back! Very frustrating.

We moved to the Darwen area after shopping a lot in the Bolton store. We accept the Darwen store is quite small but we are quite disappointed at times whilst shopping there. The fruit/veg choice & quality is sometimes very disappointing. At times various shelves are empty. The milk choice is limited especially for us as we like Cravendale & sometimes quite empty shelves there too. There are many many new properties in Darwen & Sainsburys are missing a great opportunity to increase their business. My friends also comment about shortages etc in the store. We now find ourselves going to Lidl instead & believe Home Bargains are to open at some stage in Darwen. I think that will become a favourite for people too.
I shopped at Bolton Sainsbury's happily & regularly for over 20 years so I can make comparisons.
Home deliveries for 5 years excellent service
I have deliveries every week and am delighted with everything connected with it.From easy order in the app, to delivery and quality of goods and produce.

Trying to get on to a manned checkout can be difficult
most times
I used to do all my shopping at Sainsbury’s now i find other stores mostly for my shopping that care more about actually serving their customers
So easy to park at Sainsbury's on Hadleigh Road
Sainsbury's on Hadleigh Road is great. It is easy to park, with additional space marked off between all cars in the main area.
The staff are always helpful if we have a question about products or when we have to be age checked to buy alcohol
Disappointing
On more than one occasion, I am finding the Nectar price label on the shelf differs from the price I am being charged, even though I am using the smart shop on my Nectar a/c. Always in the store's favour and never in the customer's. The staff do not seem interested when asked.
More recently, my particular store is looking very scruffy and untidy.
Positive Experience
After a slow start, I found the Sainsbury's app easy to use for a bulky online shop.
The delivery couldn't have been better. The friendly driver arrived exactly on the dot of 11.00, even though the slot allocated was for any time between 11.00 and midday.
I explained that I couldn't lift the crates, and so he waited patiently whilst I unloaded a few items at a time on the front doorstep.
There was only one substitution, which I declined and the refund was prompt.
Overall, a positive experience.
Last delivery fine
Last delivery fine. Two before that, one was cancelled due to technical issues, second one arrived over an hour late with no contact made to advise. Always substitutions
My experience was with Argos
My experience was with Argos in my local Sainsbury’s store. Product was easily ordered online and I was kept informed to the status of my order, which was delivered to store on time. Pick up was straightforward. Store is always clean and tidy and Argos staff helpful, efficient and friendly. Cannot comment on the product as it is yet to be used.

Sainsbury’s usually sell most of what I need. The delivery staff are always friendly respectful and helpful. The only thing that I don’t like is the fact nothing is packed in bags and as a lady in my 70’s it’s such a faff to get it all sorted and inside.
Minimum spend.
It is quite difficult for a single aged lady to meet your requirement of the minimum spend for delivery It means that it can be some weeks before I can buy my shop.
