Delivery cost?

I like shopping online and the delivery to the door is fantastic, staff always helpful friendly and caring, the only downside to shopping with sainsbury's is you now have to spend more money was £40 , now £50 delivery, that is greedy,if it was £30 you spend more money on food, but i think by putting it up I will look to shop somewhere else now, no free bags too. Sainsbury's make lots of money so it's pure greedy to put food prices up and the delivery cost is last straw....

Generally good

Generally good, but , as with other supermarkets, it’s unclear if the meat has been slaughtered humanely, ie. 100% full, non-recoverable stunning. It means I can’t buy meat there.

Con or a poor website?

I need some Moet & Chandon for a celebration. Current price £45 a bottle. Nectar price £39 a bottle - but highly advertised 25% off when you buy 6. It takes the 25% off until I log into my Sainsburys account and then it removes it. Two alternatives here. Either its a misleading con or its deliberately complicated to ensute I cant get the additional discount.

I love Sainsbury

I love Sainsbury, with so much variety and product range. The delivery drivers are the best. Always happy to do my online shopping with them.

Quality of fresh goods

I have always been a Sainsbury’s food shopper but the last year has been disappointing. Your fresh bread is poor, not baked fresh on site and fruit and vegetables has been poor quality. Therefore in recent weeks I have completed my main shop elsewhere.

Poor customer service

To often good are short dated, 2 days, eg Potato salad. Driver takes product back but to replace I have to drive to Tesco.
Failure to offer delivery when it clashes with Reading festival, yet Tesco do online deliveries. Nobody takes responsibility for when it is clear the local online manager diverts resources to festival. Thus has gone kn for years but never once has my deliver pass been extended.

Could improve

I like the store but my biggest complaint is on fresh fruit and veg as the sell by date is only a couple of days. Today I bought strawberries and I had to throw away about half the container! This happens on a regular basis. I don’t have time to take them back! Very frustrating.

We moved to the Darwen area after…

We moved to the Darwen area after shopping a lot in the Bolton store. We accept the Darwen store is quite small but we are quite disappointed at times whilst shopping there. The fruit/veg choice & quality is sometimes very disappointing. At times various shelves are empty. The milk choice is limited especially for us as we like Cravendale & sometimes quite empty shelves there too. There are many many new properties in Darwen & Sainsburys are missing a great opportunity to increase their business. My friends also comment about shortages etc in the store. We now find ourselves going to Lidl instead & believe Home Bargains are to open at some stage in Darwen. I think that will become a favourite for people too.
I shopped at Bolton Sainsbury's happily & regularly for over 20 years so I can make comparisons.
