I was a complete skeptic about this…

I was a complete skeptic about this product. Not made in USA and shipped from overseas, and it was expensive (I purchased the wall mount.) But I could not get it out of my head and so I researched as much as I could, then purchased. I am beyond HAPPY with my decision. It took longer than I liked, plus I wasn't thrilled with tracking information, but once it landed in the states, I was relieved and I received my Sandelier within days. I love it! It only took me a few days to figure out how to turn it...and WHEN to turn it. And now I get beautiful designs daily! I enjoy creating new designs too, with just a slight shift right or left. I would agree that Sandelier does a really good job setting the proper air/water levels before shipping and the Sandelier itself is well packaged for shipping. I would not hesitate to recommend purchasing this piece of art. All guest to my home love watching it and it is definitely the topic of conversation at my dining table as I have it on the wall for us to watch at every meal. Thanks Sandelier for being a trustworthy company. For other skeptics out there...I totally understand your concern but you might want to take a leap of faith on this one... and no, I was not asked by Sandelier to say what I've said, or compensated in anyway. I paid the full price for my Sandelier and would again.

Sandelier do not offer refunds!

Their customer service will try and patronise you and try and make you think the product is fine but you are not using it correctly.

I have expressed my unhappiness with the product and asked them to supply a return label and offer a refund.

Sandelier refused.

Going on instead to insist on how this is my fault and that I do not understand how to use the product.

The bottom line is this product is available online for much cheaper on all known marketplaces.
Those marketplaces also offer returns and refunds which Sandelier do not do.

Do not get fooled by Sandelier trying to differenciate this product from more reasonably priced versions available online.
They themselves have said this product "is a simple combination of sand, water and air, and works only due to the laws of physics, which aren’t faulty."

Underneath that patronising comment we can see the product has nothing unique about it. Physics aren't faulty as Sandelier so graciously informed me of.

So unless these other products were produced outside space and time, they will also obey the same laws of physics.

So why pay more for something you can get for much cheaper elsewhere and also return if you're not happy?

If you're interested in this product, my experience with it is the sand falls down in 20 seconds. I barely have time to flip it round, go sit down and look at it before all the sand is at the bottom... Not exactly a relaxing experience...

If like me you are interested in the idea of this product, id suggest trying a similar, more reasonably priced version of the same product, where you can actually get a refund if you don't like it.

The bottom line is as a custoner I'm not happy with the product and reached out to customer service asking for a return label and a refund.
After sending me 8 email responses about how it's all my fault, they refused to offer compensation of any kind and refused a return for a refund.

That speaks volumes about the product itself and Sandelier as a company.

Ps: I asked for a refund on the day I received the item, so the excuse they used on another customer saying they do not offer refunds after 3 days is a lie.
You cannot trust anything Sandelier says...
Be smarter than I was and buy from another company.

We kindly provided you with the steps required to adjust it, which you refused to apply, stating the product you received was faulty.
The return procedure is available on our Return & Exchange page which you can follow if less than 14 days have past since you received your order.
The 72h window we allow for refunds is only meant for items that have been damaged in transit.
What you asked for is "monetary compensation" for your dissatisfaction which is only due to your lack of cooperation, not to our product quality.
We have been patient with you in explaining why you weren't able to create beautiful patterns with your Sandelier, and how to solve this issue, and you kept blaming the product itself without cooperating.
Unfortunately our Sandeliers aren't toys and the understanding of how it works and how to use it is essential in order to make the most out of it. We invited you to adjust the air level in your art piece in order to increase the flow time, but you simply refused.
As we explained, this is the first time ever that we experience such a lack of cooperation and effort from one of our customers, leading you to spam our social networks with false accusations.
I therefore invite you to follow the return procedure and you will get a full refund.
We stay at your disposal if you wish to cooperate and enjoy all the benefits of your Sandelier.

Love them!

Loved this Sandelier until it fell off of my shelf and broke. Fortunately, I already have 2 more on the way, but now only one will be used as a birthday present! The patterns are beautiful - different and intriguing each time.

Excellent piece of art!

The sand art arrived in a timely manner and is such a beautiful piece of art. I have another piece from a different provider and Sandelier is superior in sand colors, the flow of the sand in the piece and creations it makes. I was so impressed I purchased an additional one for my 103 year old mother to enjoy. Our five grandkids, 8-14 years old, are entranced and calmed by this sand art. I would highly recommend Sandelier sand art.

cheap cheap cheap

So disappointed, this is so cheaply made, honestly should pay no more than $20 if that. $60USD way overpriced and I expected far more for that price. 7" cheap plastic frame with a cheap plastic stand. Sand pours down way too fast leaving simply a flat line (yes, I read the user guide and tried many, many times to get the bubbles set across the top). It took 3 weeks to get to me with no follow up other than when I sent an email asking where it was. I feel so ripped off.

Our Sandeliers are carefully handcrafted with high quality materials. The frame of your art piece is made of solid rubber in order to keep it sealed, not plastic. The stand is made of plastic on the model that you chose, but we have other designs with wooden stands.
Please understand that all Sandeliers work the same way, as they are purely mechanical and aren’t battery powered items.
Therefore, if you can’t manage to create beautiful patterns like in our ads, it’s often because your Sandelier requires an adjustment, or because you are not using it correctly.
We do provide a User's guide/FAQ that helps understanding how it works, but you are more than welcome to reach out to us and we'll be happy to assist you so that you can make the most of your Sandelier and enjoy all of its benefits.
As for the follow-up, confirmation emails are sent to the email address you submitted during your order, keeping you updated during the transit of your parcel. If you haven't received those emails I invite you to check in your spams.

Unique retirement gift

I bought this for my husband's retirement gift. It arrived quickly, I was given shipping updates regularly and it is beautiful. It is such a unique piece of kinetic art. Let's just home he doesn't spend too much time watching it! Ha ha.

I got the original 12" Sandelier and…

I got the original 12" Sandelier and have really enjoyed it! It definitely took several days before the sand would drift slowly. I'm not sure if it just needed to adjust to the new room or settle or why it took longer but don't be discouraged if the sand moves too quickly at first. Mine can now take all day to transition and I really enjoy the slow speed. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase, it's as pretty as it was in the pictures. The only slight issue I have is that it doesn't fit perfectly snugly into the base so I have to keep it on a high counter that my cats can't reach because I'm not sure it would survive a love tap from them!

Absolutely love this interactive art! Amazing how it makes a new soothing image each time. I've purchased two so far and will be sure to order more for myself & gifts for others. The shipping does take a bit to USA but is worth the wait. Love my sandilier.

Great product, for a gift or for yourself.

UPDATED - REVIEW

I placed an order on January 17th and to date have received no information about my order or when it can be expected. I sent an email using their contact address 4 days ago and no response!!!!

After getting Sandelier's response to my review I rechecked my emails. While not in my inbox or spam folders, I did find their response to my follow-up in a quarantine folder. For that part, I update my review to reflect that they did in fact respond - thank you.

I did check the tracking provided. Today, Feb 7th, it shows that shipping information was sent to FEDEX on January 28th with an anticipated Shipment Date of January 29th. No other information is available. At this time I do not know if it was in fact picked up or shipped. While clearly there is a record on FEDEX's website, it offers hardly any information about the status or location of my order. After 10 days since it was expected to be shipped, I remain in limbo as to where my order is at the moment.

I have upped my rating to reflect the company did in fact respond to my request for information. The rest remains a mystery, one which I am not sure is a company issue or a FEDEX issue.

Looking for a unique gift? Sandelier is a great option. I recently purchased the Original Sandelier for my sister in law’s birthday & she absolutely loved it. Each Sandelier is custom & handmade. It takes about 1-2 weeks for the product to be made + shipped so make sure to keep that in mind and order in advance. Otherwise, get ready to WOW your friends & family.
