I joined the SAS Eurobonus program…

I joined the SAS Eurobonus program before I took 4 flights with SAS earlier in October 2025. Only 2 of the flights registered for credit on my Eurobonus account. When I tried 4 times to add my address to their website all I got was "Something went wrong. Try again later." Later I went into their options for receiving SMS notifications and UNtoggled it, leaving Email notifications option toggled ON. Finally I was able to add my address but the Eurobonus website decides to send me an SMS verification even though I UNtoggled it. I don't use SMS. This happened to me 3 times AFTER I UNtoggled SMS communications with Eurobonus. I have given up on SAS Eurobonus because their website is to totally dysfunctional.

Customer service are not helpful at…

Customer service are not helpful at all, and they speak a really bad English. I accidently booked a wrong date for my flight, and called them within 10mn, and the lady's reply is: this is your fault and not ours. and was charged for 70 euros per ticket to change the date. And there is no email address to write for them!!

SAS abandoned us overnight in London — and months later still refuses to pay basic expenses

SAS left us stranded overnight at Heathrow after a delay on flight SK1507 from Copenhagen caused us to miss our Virgin Atlantic connection to New York (VS025). There were no SAS staff anywhere in our terminal that evening. When we finally reached phone support, the agent kept us on hold for almost an hour, then told us to “buy new tickets and request reimbursement” — before never calling back.

Virgin Atlantic, not SAS, ultimately rebooked us the next day (VS137 on July 31). SAS did nothing to help us get home, even though EU law requires them to provide care, meals, and transport.

After months of back-and-forth since August 9, I’ve provided every possible receipt and document — including Uber receipts from London, our boarding passes, and even phone bills showing the international calls made to SAS and Virgin that night. SAS keeps demanding the same paperwork and recently claimed (falsely) that we “arrived earlier than scheduled.”

This has been the most frustrating, dishonest, and incompetent airline experience I’ve ever had. For less than $100 in legitimate expenses, SAS has shown how little it values its passengers’ time or loyalty.

We recently flew to Austria again but refused to book with SAS because of this debacle. Between their mismanagement, poor communication, and complete lack of accountability, they’ve lost customers for life.

Computer says no

Made a mistake and booked the wrong flight, would expect a fee to change but they charged a full price expensive ticket at £240. No customer service whatsoever. I was a regular customer but I will avoid ever booking again!

Refund policy is builded to loose your money

SAS will sometimes send a message for refund or change flight for free because for changed flight depature, the option for changing flight did not work and the rules are unclear about the refund policy, I got 20 % of the tickes back in the end and there is no clear explanation about it until you contact them and they close the case(so no evidence after that). I lost about 250 euros and had to pay full for a new ticket that could have changed for free. My last time with SAS

Right claim number, wrong claim issue in the answer

Dear SAS Customer claims

Claim case 07200172 (DELAYED BAG)

It has now been:
18 days since i reported and made my claim on October 5th 2025.

8 days since you sent an email with the right claim number and WRONG claim (i.e. you referred to stolen items, my claim was a delayed bag!)

3 days since i called SAS customer service hoping they could get through to you, when you are not answering me and making sure you will reevaluate my claim and not close it.

In both Arlanda airport at the bagage claim service counter, there is a sign reading:

'Please fill out the report within 7 days'

Lovely, this is what you encourage your customers to do.

Why are you willing to expect more from your customers, then you are willing to deliver?

And when can I expect to hear from you with an update to the right claim issue?

If i could it would be -5 stars. The only thing that 'saves' SAS every time is the service of the aircraft staff. EVERY TIME!

Diamond Customer Service is terrible

We were 2 min late at the check-in counter in MXP. Still had 43 min to get through security and board the airplane to Copenhagen. But the check-in staff would not allow us to do so as we were bringing two luggages to check which could delay the flight.
I am a SAS Diamond member which didn’t help. Check-in staff could also not help with an alternative flight. Neither could Diamond Customer Support when I called. I even talked to three different agents. They wanted to charge me 3300 kr per ticket for a replacement one way flight to Copenhagen instead! That was their support….
It turns out the flight was 23 min delayed departing from MXP according to official flight stats and similarly 23 min delayed arriving in Copenhagen. That means that in reality there was one hour available for us to board the flight and the luggage to be loaded which is more than enough.
Instead we now have to spend a full extra day in the airport before our indirect flight tomorrow which we had to pay more than 1000 EUR for.
Diamond customer service at SAS is a complete joke. Loaylty to SAS not only does not pay off, it makes you feel like an idiot! After flying weekly with SAS for more than two years I will from now on never fly with this airline again whenever I can avoid it. It’s a promise!
I encourage everyone to do the same!

Disgraceful company

Disgraceful company. Still waiting for a refund after cancelling flight. Customer service completely uninterested, to the point of being dismissive. Shocking. AVOID this airline if you can.

1 day delayed arrival to destination and no money received.

We had a flight booked with SAS that was delayed by about two hours because of a technical issue. Because of that delay, we missed our connecting flight and were forced to stay overnight in Copenhagen. As a result, we arrived at our final destination one day later than planned.

Due to the late arrival, we lost a night’s hotel booking in Mallorca. We expected SAS to cover the cost of the replacement accommodation, any other necessary expenses, and to compensate us under EU law.

We submitted a claim more than a week ago but have not received any response. It is our understanding that, under EU Regulation 261/2004, SAS is responsible for refunds, re-routing, meals and accommodation during the delay, and also compensation for the arrival delay if it exceeds three hours. We await their reimbursement promptly.

SAS at Arlanda, you are a bunch of clowns and bullies

I am writing this after one of the most infuriating experiences I've ever had with an airline. I had a ticket booked from Arlanda and needed to check in a special baggage item. Multiple times in the lead-up to my flight, I contacted SAS Gold Customer Service, who asked all the necessary questions and explicitly confirmed that the contents were permitted. Not only that, they registered the special baggage on my profile.

So imagine my shock when I arrived at the airport, and the personnel at the SAS check-in counter outright refused to print the baggage label. Their response? “Customer service are idiots.”

I tried to reason with them, showed my documentation, and even called SAS Gold Support again. After multiple long, pointless calls and wait times, I was told (again!) that everything looked fine on their end. When I passed on my mobile phone to the personnel at the counter, the customer service personnel left the call. Anyways, the staff at the counter couldn’t care less. The man who claimed to be the “responsible” staff member on duty—at Arlanda on Sept 29, between 15:00–16:00—was nothing short of a bully. Arrogant, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. He repeatedly mocked customer service, saying they “don’t know what they’re doing,” as if it was somehow my problem that your departments don’t speak to each other.

Let me be very clear: your internal dysfunction is not the customer’s problem. I followed your rules, I confirmed in advance, and I still ended up being insulted and denied service.

I have been a Diamond and now Gold member for years, but I’m done. This is an entitled airline that treats its loyal customers like trash, evidently you don't need our money. This situation cost me both time and money—but honestly, I’d gladly pay even more just to never have to deal with you again.

Your staff are rude, unprepared, and openly hostile—not just to customers, but to each other. It’s clear no one at SAS listens to customer feedback, because if you did, your service wouldn’t be this disgraceful.

Shame on you.

Hi SAS,

Hi SAS,

I’m still waiting for the refund on my cancelled tickets, which was approved over two months ago. Despite the approval, I have yet to receive the payment.

Could you please explain why the refund process is taking so long? This delay is quite concerning, and I would appreciate an update on when I can expect to receive the funds.

What a mess!!

What a mess!!

It has gone almost 9 weeks since I started to contact SAS by phone in order to update 2 Eurobonus profiles. No success yet!
New cases has been createded and deadline of 7 days has been given. Notthing happens.
Last time I was in touch with them by phone (5 days ago) they informed that they have no capacity to answer my follow-up questions and promissed to call me 30 minutes later. They never did.
09-09-2025
In the past 4 weeks I spent more than 8 hours hanging on phone in order to get in touch with SAS customer service. They have createde 3 cases ( connected with adjustment of my and daughter's EUROBONUS profile) and promissed to solve the issues within 24 hours, A week has gone and NOTHING has been amended, Today they promissed to look into my casses and call me back 4 hours later, Did SAS get in touch with me? NO.
We could have expected a better treatment, considering how much public money has been pumped into SAS:-( Huuuge dissapoitment!

Extremely Frustrating Experience – Would Not Recommend

I recently flew SAS with my family (9 of us total) from Los Angeles to Denmark, and the experience with their customer service was one of the most frustrating I have ever had with an airline.

I accidentally bought a round-trip ticket for one of my daughters, who was in London studying abroad and only needed a one-way ticket home. I called SAS several times, each time waiting between 45 minutes and two hours just to speak to someone. Despite explaining the situation in detail, no one told me I could get a flight credit (which I later learned SAS is required to offer for U.S.-originating flights and even states on their own website!).

Following their advice, I canceled the ticket — which meant losing over $2,000 — and had to buy another one-way ticket for my daughter. Afterward, I contacted SAS customer service in writing to ask for a credit, but they refused, saying it was too late because I had already canceled the flight. This felt like a complete betrayal, since I was only following what their own representatives told me to do.
The entire process was exhausting, costly, and completely avoidable if SAS had simply provided correct information the first time. I would strongly recommend avoiding SAS if you expect fair treatment or helpful customer service. For me, this was a very expensive mistake that SAS made even worse by refusing to do the right thing.

SAS case 06917699

In regards to case 06917699

I’ve now waited almost three months for a proper response from SAS regarding a deeply frustrating experience.

In March, I purchased a return ticket (as advised by SAS customer service, since a one-way was far more expensive) between Copenhagen and New York. When boarding began for my outbound flight, SAS staff called me to ask if I could still make it. I told them I couldn’t, but that I would find another way to New York — making it clear that I still needed my return flight. Nobody informed me that missing the outbound would automatically cancel my return.

Six days before my scheduled return, I went on SAS’s website, entered my booking reference, and was able to buy a seat reservation (229 DKK) on a ticket that was already invalid. No warning appeared. On the day of travel, I arrived at the airport with 9 months’ worth of luggage only to be told my ticket was cancelled, and I had to spend 5,250 DKK on a new flight the next day.

As a student, this was a huge and unnecessary financial burden.

At the airport, SAS staff offered no help and told me to call customer service — which also provided none. The plane itself was half-empty; I could easily have boarded.

My question remains unanswered:

How is it possible to purchase a seat reservation on an invalid ticket? — and why was I never informed?

I expect financial reimbursement — at the very least for the invalid seat reservation and the costly replacement ticket, if not also for the appalling “customer service.”
