Giving one star just because I cannot…

Giving one star just because I cannot give less. With the gotthard tunnel temporarily closed, the journey on that line takes 1h longer than usual. However, ticket prices have not been reduced. In addition to this, the train I was traveling on today was canceled with no apparent reason, causing a total delay of more than 1h30. No customer service.

very bad customer service

very bad customer service, ripping off good customers who paid thousands of franks over the years (in my case close to 20k), for little mistakes, in my case: bought the ticket too late in the train, but even though i went directly to the conducter when i realised still charged me an absurd fee of 30 bucks. bought a ticket twice after having a unplanned stop: refused to refund anything! but yes, monopolies don't need to care about their customers...

money suckers

SBB will send you instant text messages telling you your subscription has been suspended only after it sends reminders by slow mail (2 late notices failed to reach me by post). How hard is it to send payment reminders by text ? Or even on the app? Efficiently failed. Had to pay the late fee.

Refund service

I bought the ticket for the whole journey, 3 trains, including an international one. One number of booking. Be aware if you want to refund money for the trip you were not able to make. You have to claim every train separately. I my case they rejected my claim explaining that I had to ask for refund by phone not by making online request as I did. They started to process my claim just 10 day after my request when all the terms were missed.

Lack of Cleanliness on the Train IR90

Train IR 90, Brig > Geneve airport, 17:57, 02 Jul 2023.

Despite witnessing the cleaning team just passed by the whole car before I got on the train, the train's cleanliness remains disappointing. Food crumbs and stains were still everywhere on the floor and on the seats. It changed the experience of traveling in Switzerland by train. Hopefully the authorities can improve on cleaning procedures and strength the supervision of the cleaning crew for providing a better and hygienic travel experience and maintaining the image of SBB.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever! The staff in the train are incredibly rude not only to me but my daughter. I rang to complain and give feedback but totally uninterested!
Problem when you have a Monopoly company, they don’t care!

through your nose

Of course the telephone helpline never answers calls - the longer they keep customers waiting, the more they earn!

And also the new software on the ticket automats sucks big time.

Racist and rude staff on SBB

Took the 14:55 ECE 190 train from München to Interlaken (via Zürich Hbf) on 31 May 2023. The journey was generally okay until it was running late and we had to catch the connecting train from Zürich Hbf to Interlaken Ost.

I went to look for a train staff to ask how much longer will it take to arrive (supposed to arrive at 18:27 but it was already 18:35) and I found an elderly male staff with short white hair. I showed him my paper ticket booking and was trying to ask him about the timing but he kept repeating “remain on the same track when the train arrives” VERY RUDELY. yes, I was aware that we need to remain on the same track, but that wasn’t my question. I was trying to ask about the time but he would not let me speak. He kept scolding me and asking me to listen to him and just remain on the same track when we arrive. I could not even get a single word in!

When I tried to speak over him, he waved his hands at me and just walked away. I was speechless!

Seriously how can your staff treat paying customers like that? And I was booked on first class! He definitely treated me that way because I’m a woman AND I’m Asian. SBB, you either need to let go of your elderly staff or rewire them not to be bloody racist bigots. This isn’t the 1920s anymore. Such a disappointing experience, will never travel on SBB again after that.

Harassment from contracted ticket checkers

I am so sick of the people that are hired as contractors to write tickets (not wearing an SBB uniform). They are looking for any little reason to harrass the riders. Today I was accused of not purchasing my ticket before I got on the bus at 12:02 and my ticket was purchased before I got on the bus at 12:01. I started to argue in English then switched to high German and he refused to speak to me in either high German or English. Then, when I kept getting angrier and angrier he finally backed off and said Enchuldigung! He saw that I purchased my ticket at 12:01 and he was wrong. He was just looking for a reason to give me a ticket and harass me. Furthermore, where is the logic when a rider can get on the bus and purchace a ticket from the machine while on the bus, how can SBB write someone a ticket if they buy their ticket on the app once they are on the bus??? I am a loyal rider and I don’t appreciate the harrassment.

Travelling from St Margrethen SG to…

Travelling from St Margrethen SG to Winterthur. Was told the train departing at 9.10 is gonna be 20 mins late. I get out of the train to take the slower 9.13 connection. I enter the 9.13 and see how the 9.10 departs right in front of my eye. Rude staff and wrong information. For these prices?? Unbelievable. Now i won't even make my connection because the 9.13 also left 10 mins later.

Deteriorating Standards of SBB: A Disheartening Journey from Excellence to Mediocrity

I first experienced the service standards of SBB in 2012, which I found to be commendably exceptional. 🤩 However, there has been an unfortunate decline in its quality over the years. The trains have noticeably become less clean, and unpleasant odors are not uncommon. 🤢 Despite these shortcomings, ticket prices continue to rise, which is a point of concern. 🤔
I truly hope SBB gets back on the rail track 🚆

Dont buy Halbtax with them

I bought a halbtax from SBB and it is valid until June. The SBB controller could see in her file that I have a halbtax, however in my app the halbtax did not work due to the bad processes within the SBB. She therefore took me out of the train, blackmailed me into having to sign a document saying I forgot my halbtax and made me miss my bus, although she can see in my files that I have a valid halbtax. Friendly customer services is different. I don't recommend the SBB and any of their services.

They have to be ashamed because this is…

They have to be ashamed because this is Switzerland and they act like the poorest country. Very bad organization. Dirty, hotline doesn't work, doors are not opening automatically, low maintenance, yet they'll charge you twice more if anything without tolerance or empathy. Very bad service. But the most important is that two security people go behind the control crew in case of violence. Guys, first make up the fundamental things in SBB. Always full, always uncomfortable dirty and no politeness at all. And answer the call once, for god's sake. Bye 1/10

Scam Alert, Hidden Fees everywhere

They've been trying to charge me unjustified fees since I've been a customer with G.A
besides, the trains are always full, the doors are always damaged, but then again, they have the public transport monopoly so, we have to get used to crappy service. The hotline doesn't work on weekends now, even though it says on their homepage they're available every day. But they still manage to have kontrolleurs on every train.

When having to pay almost 35chf for my commute (both ways) I expect to be in train were sitting is available. Such a mess as today's 07:08 to Zurich, I have never seen. We are packed like sardines. If the service can not be kept at a proper level maybe SBB should at least do something about the ticket price.

As always bad

As always: toilets closed, trains always late/destination change in middle of the ride (had to wait half an hour in the cold) trainseats dirty and to top that all off: it is expensive AS HELL.
