Worst experience ever
This is my review with scraye as my letting agents, as everything started everything felt quite simple and honest but everything just went downhill from that point onwards. Starting from entering the house we received the property unfurnished even though we were told it would be furnished. We had to pay for a hotel because of their mistake. During our stay there were countless problems from heating to mould and no appropriate help was given from scraye. There were unjustified expenses that were deducted from our deposit. We chose not to fight all the mishaps with our tenure because we as students simply didn’t had time for all this. As a humble request to you there are much better letting agents out there please do not roll a dice with Scraye.
In short I wouldn’t recommend SCRAYE even to my enemies.

I’m still owed a big amount of money from a payment I made to Scraye for a property. I’ve tried reaching out several times to sort it, but nothing has been resolved. Communication has been really poor and overall the service has been disappointing. Wouldn’t recommend based on my experience.
Dishonest, disorganised, and completely unaccountable
Our experience with Scraye was one of the most frustrating and stressful rental processes we’ve ever gone through.
On Saturday 12th July, my friends and I viewed a property with a Scraye representative (who was polite and helpful). We put in a full asking price offer and were told it would be accepted immediately. After a full day of chasing and providing all requested info, our offer was finally accepted and we paid a £700 holding deposit.
Then… nothing.
We waited and chased repeatedly for the next step which was referencing, but were met with complete silence. On Tuesday 15th July at 9am, we were told the property had been taken off the market. Naturally, we assumed this meant we had secured it. But later that day, we found the property still listed with a different estate agent. That agent told us the property had just gone to someone else.
Scraye then gave us three conflicting explanations:
1. The landlord no longer wanted to rent the property.
2. It had gone to a different group.
3. A bedroom was “too small” to be rented, even though we had clearly explained we were two couples, using the fourth bedroom for storage. This was accepted by Scraye at the time they took our deposit, and explicitly mentioned on our application.
No one gave us a straight answer. We were passed from person to person: Aayrush genuinely tried to help, but then we were referred to Catherine (who, we later learned, doesn’t even work for Scraye), then Luis, then Maria, then apparently the landlord, who we never spoke to directly. Everything came to us via delayed WhatsApp messages or secondhand updates.
To make it even worse, we were told on the phone today that we had cancelled the offer, which is completely false! We never withdrew! We were left with no house, no response, and no option but to stop efforts because Scraye failed to provide any clarity or confirmation. That claim is a blatant attempt to shift blame and cover their tracks.
This felt dishonest and exploitative, like they’re scheming to take deposits, delay, confuse, and then quietly move on without accountability. It took them three days to return our £700 holding deposit via a basic bank transfer, and only after multiple chases, with no official confirmation that this was being processed.
And if you want to complain? Good luck! Scraye doesn’t even have a complaints department. :(
After checking Trustpilot reviews, we saw the exact same issues raised by other renters a couple of years ago. This clearly isn't a one off, and they haven’t improved or changed how they operate.
Yes, deals fall through, we understand that. But what made this unbearable was the lack of communication, the contradictions, the lies, and the utter lack of care, especially when they knew we were on a deadline to move.
Avoid Scraye at all costs. They are not trustworthy, not transparent, and not professional.

Joralyn who was the first agent that i talk to through phone was very accommodating, she really a star she responded very fast, very helpfull in any ways. Very accommodating in all our queries.
