Excellent service again from the Gosport branch. Natasha was very helpful regarding new shorter hearing aid leads and adjusting my specticals

Had my thorough eye test with Sam and his expertise and then directed to a new pair of glasses by Aurora who sorted me out in seconds.
Always a pleasure to deal with Steve and his crew who keep my eye problem under their careful watch.

Absolute disaster of a service. My Dad is house bound after various problems over the last 3 years. He had a mental health break down which has led to depression and lack of motivation. His hearing has deteriorated and has held him back due to not being able to talk or get involved on conversations. My Brother and I can no longer talk to him on the phone because he just can not hear. We contacted Scriven’s upon the recommendations of my parents GP based in New Milton and his Mental health nurse who has tried to get him involved in things but simply can not due to not being able to hear anything. We was told by scrivens they provided home visits and said my father would be added to the wait list. Several months went by and we called to be told there is a bit of a wait. January I put a complaint in and so did the Secretary for my Fathers GP. A Chloe Haddon responded after I told her my Fathers situation, apologising and thanking us for our patience. She assured me they would get someone out to us. Well it is September now, 13 months after my first contact and no one can even tell me his position on the waitlist!! You call up, no one seems to know anything, they will not let you talk to the audiologist and all they say is you just have to wait until they are in your area?? Well can someone please tell me when they will be in New Milton. My Dad is 84 and it would be nice to be able to have a proper conversation with him before it is too late! You are clearly saying you are providing a service on behalf of the NHS and being compensated for supplying this service! So can someone please pull there finger out and have the decency to let us know how long you expect us to wait?? 13 months is long enough and the fact you can not even tell us where he is in this apparent queue is ridiculous. Shame on you.

Just had new glasses at the Bilston branch, the staff were really helpful and the eye test was spot on. 10/10

The team at Scrivens in Bourne are a delight. They make a visit to the opticians easy. Sue in particular is so friendly and professional.

Scrivens Didcot I came to Didcot scrivens today and was very satisfied with there service

I had an appointment today at Scrivens in Ironmonger Street, Stamford. Graham gave me excellent service in re-setting my Phonak hearing aids after my recent brain surgery. He re-tuned my devices to the new audio levels and restored the app on my mobile phone. Really appreciate such excellent service particularly at a very trying time in my life .Thank you so much Graham.

Disappointing service when my hearing aids needed repair. When I was with the NHS audiology unit, it was possible to get an instant replacement if a hearing aid was lost or damaged. There was a standard charge of £100 for this. With Scrivens, there is a ten day wait for replacement and if you want a spare pair (so you never have to wait again) it's £180 . And of course you have to wait a fortnight for them to arrive. This is a long time to be without a hearing aid. My branch of Scrivens (Kings Heath) blames the NHS which doesn’t provide a stock of hearing aids for emergency replacement. I would fully support Scrivens bringing this issue to the attention of whoever they deal with at the NHS on behalf of their customers.

My Wife had her first appointment in the audiology dept, I was there as well the young lady interviewing her didn't face her we had to ask her to face my Wife more than once. She had a look in her right ear saying it was blocked with wax. Just been back and was told her ear was clear of wax.We are not happy with the first consultation.

The staff were fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable, the service was thorough but very comfortable, it's a shame that I don't need to go back for another two years lol!

I called in on spec for batteries and new tubes for my hearing aids. I was greeted in a very friendly way by a member of staff named Vanessa who proceeded to get the necessary bits and pieces for me.

I visited the dorchester branch today. All of the staff were so welcoming, lovely and very helpful.
I will continue to use scrivens (Dorchester branch) and would 100% recommend scrivens to my friends and family. Brilliant service.

Phoned Scrivens North Finchley for an appointment late on Wednesday 27th August 2026 and was given a time of 9:00am today. From the minute I stepped through the door I was greeted with a very warm welcome and excellent service from Carol. Carol offered me a complimentary hearing test which was totally unexpected.

Had my eye test with Michael S who was professional and explained every step of the process. Michael performed a thorough eye test and his attention to detail was phenomenal. Such a caring person.

Michael S recommended a new pair that would suit me. So pleased with his selection and the new glasses. Helped at every stage by the wonderful, knowledgable Michael the shop manager. Again, Michael went above and beyond and was professional at every step of the journey. Michael explained the pricing process.

Both Michael’s together with Carol are to be commended on their helpfulness. Without question, I would highly recommend the Finchley branch to anyone seeking a new optician. The added bonus is that it is close to him.

I have used Scrivens opticians happily for some years and recently booked to have an ear clean/test. Hearing aids were recommended and I agreed to have some fitted. The Audiologist demonstrated suitable aids and explained how to fit and keep them clean. The new aids are working well and I had a recent follow up visit where small adjustments were made. Very good service and friendly staff. Recommended.

I had a double appointment for eyes and ears to be tested. I can honestly say I have never had an experience like this before. ALL the staff were helpful, friendly and were able to answer all my questions. My eyes were tested , not much change there, but I decided that a new pair of specs wouldn't go amiss. The ladies there were extremely helpful, giving sound advice making full use of their experience guiding me to make a decision over style and suitability.
The audiologist took me through the procedure of testing my ears and establishing that I needed hearing aids. As I am over 65 years old I was advised to contact my GP and request authorisation from them to seek a referral for my ears to be tested. I did this and within a fortnight I was contacted to return to the store and collect my aids. At no time was there any "sales pitch" , just sound advice. I am so pleased with the service that I have recommended my friends to use Kings Heath branch, which they have done, reporting that they had the same experience I did and were so glad that they went.
