We look after a range of claims including damage to your home including home emergencies, flooding, storm, subsidence, storm and accidental damage. We will also manage your car insurance claim after you’ve been in a car accident.

What we do 

If you’re unfortunate enough to experience damage to your property or be involved in a car accident your insurer will ask us to look into the claim. We follow the insurer’s guidance and policy wording to establish what’s covered and what’s excluded. If your claim is covered then we work with you to assess the extent of the damage and then put plans in place to ensure the damage to your home or car is repaired.

Should you need them, our expert repair network is on hand to provide a full range of building repair services for both domestic and commercial situations.

Unprofessional firm

Unprofessional firm - have no concern for the customer's time, money and family. I was out of kitchen for 5 months as these guys dragged their heels and ping-ponged my claim between various builders.

Overall experience start to finish

My expectation was largely met in terms of timing The preparation of the work schedules took longer than I expected but then I have spent my entire professional life in construction management so some impatience was evident Im sure in my interactions with the team supervisors There needed to be closer examination by those doing inspection work to maintain high standards As the programme began to approach completion there was evidence of rushing
Your question wrt experience cannot be answered below because you system does not allow a wide enough window to enter the date or even allow free form date entry but the programme lasted 15 months in total

We had a burst pipe under the bath in…

We had a burst pipe under the bath in our upstairs bathroom which flooded the kitchen too because it had been running for 3 hours. My house was uninhabitable for nearly 8 months and we stayed in 5 different hotels during that time. My loss adjuster was Ian Sutherland and he was absolutely BRILLIANT. He made the situation bearable because he was at the end of the phone ANYtime I needed assistance with accommodation, and also for advice. It was a long drawn out process and promises from the contractors unfulfilled. I am so glad to be home at last and I will never forget Ian’s genuine, caring attitude. Nothing was too much bother and he chased up the people who were supposed to be helping me.

Impossible to contact

I have previously had a claim on my policy when Sedgwick had a coownership with Leif Hansen, and everything went smooth. Now, that they are the sole owner, I have been unable to contact anyone for more than a month. "We will get back to you as fast a possible". That is the same message you will get every time. Stay away!

cannot recommend Lynsey Swain at...
I cannot recommend Lynsey Swain at Sedgwick highly enough. After experiencing the trauma of having my home broken into, I was overwhelmed and unsure where to begin. From the moment Lynsey visited, she showed exceptional compassion, professionalism, and genuine care.
She took the time to listen, understand what I was going through, and guided me through every step with kindness and reassurance. Nothing ever felt too much trouble, and she handled everything incredibly quickly and efficiently, which made such a huge difference during an extremely stressful and upsetting time.
What stood out most was how human and understanding she was throughout the whole process. She didn't just deal with the claim
— she supported me through a very difficult experience with empathy, patience, and care.
Lynsey is an absolute credit to Sedgwick and I am truly grateful for everything she did for me. Thank you for making such a traumatic situation feel manageable and for going above and beyond in every way.

Excellent Service

My very elderly father’s house was flooded In January 2026 due to a burst water pipe in the attic. The damage was significant and unfortunately he needed to be out of the house for 5 months whilst the work was completed. The support we received from Sedgwick was absolutely second to none- the loss adjuster Donna Campbell and her assistant Eilidh Smith, guided us through every stage of the claim, alternative accommodation and restoration of the house during these 5 months. There was excellent communication and they were always quick to respond to any questions that we had. They also ensured that any issues that arose during the restoration were escalated promptly to the contractors which meant there was no delay to the progress of the work. Donna and Eilidh’s professionalism , great organisational skills and friendly manner undoubtedly helped to reduce our family’ stress during this difficult period ,and we are all very grateful for the excellent support we received from them.

Travel insurance claim via revolut UK

I was dealing with this company through Revolut for a travel insurance claim, which they said they would pay out within 5 days as it was accepted only for them to tell me 5 days later that there was a “payment error”, despite me giving them my details twice by email just incase. It’s been more than 10 days now and still no sign of my payment. Shocking enough I’ve read their Google reviews and this is a reoccurring thing.

Although the start of the process was…

Although the start of the process was very stressful, I have to say both Linda and Kieran have been fantastic keeping us informed and communicating regularly with updates and advise. I can not recommend them both strongly enough and to thank them very much for all their help, support and attention to detail that we have had through the whole stressful experience through the six months that it has taken to come to a successful conclusion.

A Masterclass in Bad-Faith Stonewalling: Welcome to Sedgwick’s "Fictional Physics" Department

If your insurance claim is passed to Sedgwick International UK, prepare to be met with institutional stalling, gaslighting, and an adversarial team that invents its own laws of physics and civil procedure to dodge liability.
​I escalated a claim after a "waterproof" aquarium light suffered a catastrophic internal seal failure, leaked 240V of raw UK mains electricity directly into a nursery tank, and killed an entire spawn of rare fish. Dealing with their Liability Adjuster and Service Delivery Lead has been like trying to debate thermodynamics with a brick wall.
​Their defense strategy relies on a thoroughly unethical mix of deception and comedic scientific illiteracy:
​Fictional Physics: They originally issued a denial by asserting that "UK electrical current would not transfer through air into water." Astonishing analysis, considering nobody ever claimed it traveled through the air—it conducted through a physical stream of water dripping from the housing.
​Evidence Tampering by Directive: They formally instructed me to preserve the water-logged unit "as is." Because I followed their exact instructions, the trapped moisture naturally caused internal rust over the following weeks. Sedgwick then weaponized that very rust—which they forced me to create—as "proof" of historic misuse.
​The 1.5-Hour Math Problem: When caught out, they claimed "condensation alone" couldn't cause that much moisture ingress within 48 hours. I had an analyst run the numbers using the Convective Mass Transfer Equation. Thanks to the narrow 3.54 mm internal depth clearance measured by digital calipers, the unit mathematically required just 1.5 hours of thermal vacuum pumping to draw in enough vapor to explode the live circuitry.
​The Fake Law Barrier: In their final panic, they sent a sweeping email declaring they "cannot rely on reports from unregistered entities." There is no statutory register in the United Kingdom for technical analysts in a small claim under CPR Part 27. Geometry and basic physics (V = w \times h \times d) do not require a corporate registration number to be recognized as absolute fact by a District Judge.
​To top off this circus of customer service, they flatly ignored their own promised "7-day contact window," choosing instead to double down on carbon-copied template deflections until the very end.
​Sedgwick relies entirely on the hope that everyday consumers will be intimidated by generic legal jargon and walk away. They forgot to check who they were dealing with. The talking has officially concluded, the pre-action protocol is exhausted, and the formal Particulars of Claim are heading straight to the HM Courts portal. Patronising and condescending to say the least

Claim for water damage

Our claim for water damage in our living room (due to leaking heating system pipes in the floor) was handled professionally and was completely resolved. Loss Adjuster Amy was very helpful and always available to answer any questions, and took a keen interest in resolving all of our issues. Sedgwick arranged the finding of and fixing of the leak, which included a couple of precautionary tests for asbestos in the flooring materials (thankfully with negative results), and then we were able to choose our own builder and decorator to repair the cosmetic damage, and compensated by Sedgwick based on their quotes, minus our excess. All has now been resolved.
