The best fabric shop I’ve been in. The staff were super-attentive and friendly. We bought some fantastic fabric to re-upholster a piano stool.

Excellent customer service and very quick (same day response) to rectify an issue we had with fitting. Much appreciated.

Having bought our first ever home in Shrewsbury (after living in Military Housing with Military curtains!!) my husband and I were both excited and nervous about purchasing curtains and tracks! Sarah was very welcoming, friendly and offered amazing advice and guidance! Taking on board what look we were aiming for, Sarah gently steered us to our fabric of choice! We called in to Simon Boyd’s to look at wallpaper. We had a photo of some paper we had seen at a holiday home in France hoping we could get something similar. Sandra and her colleagues were brilliant and found the exact paper for us. This was our first visit having been recommended by friends and we would certainly go back and recommend to others

We returned to Simon Boyd in Shrewsbury for curtains in late November. No real expectation that there was time to get them made before Christmas. Chris was fantastically helpful and patient with us. I knew the subtle colour and design I wanted and she went through countless designs before we found the perfect one. They were beautifully made as usual and and the icing on the cake was they came in time for Christmas.

The end to end process is absolutely first class and we’d highly recommend Simon Boyd for your window dressing needs. Very helpful staff in the Shrewsbury store with a fitter who is very experienced and knowledgeable and a pleasure to have in your home. We’re absolutely delighted with our Roman Blinds throughout our new property with the added finishing touches of lampshades made by Sarah from the remnants of the fabric.

What an amazing service and telephone follow-ups and updates from Chris at Simon Boyd, Shrewsbury. She did everything to get me clips for my venetian blinds.

Reupholstering all the mattresses and seats on a small boat was my first ever sewing project. I had not been sure whether I could do it or to have them made for me.
All the staff at simon Boyd shrewsbury were incredibly helpful and supportive over a number of visits to help me learn from scratch what I needed and find the right fabric. I can honestly say they gave me the confidence to go ahead and it worked out well.
Lovely people who know their job but also kind generous and keen to help me succeed.

Simon Boyd has been our go-to place for furnishing fabrics ever since we moved to Shrewsbury. They did an excellent job 5 years ago when we were helping my Dad choose curtains for his bungalow when he moved 5 years ago. Dad was overwhelmed by the choice but they were very helpful. The sets of curtains for 4 rooms gave Dad a huge amount of pleasure in his new home,

Last week we were looking for a pole for a banner, so not your typical curtain pole. They managed to find a suitable pole and finials in their off cuts store for a very reasonable price. Very happy with the outcome.

I often have a mixed experience at Simon Boyd Shrewsbury, entirely dependant on which member of staff is available. Most are very helpful and knowledgeable; lovely. Last week a man advised on linings and interlinings for large curtains and was extremely helpful - a little pricey but the quality was excellent and I was very happy. However, on revisiting this week, I was literally shooed away by the lady I always try to avoid (she's been rude on previous visits) when I asked for curtain hooks. These are kept in a busy area near the desk, usually kept customer free, but she had beckoned me to her to see them on the display, then told me in no uncertain terms that what I wanted was not worth stocking (sew-in hooks). Fair enough, but no alternatives, no suggestions. Shoo shoo, out! flap flap! She was so rude, I left at speed and went straight to Aberkhan in town and bought what I'd wanted there. I have 15 pairs of curtains/blinds to make... A previous time, another member of staff (again, v helpful) had allowed me to take a book home overnight to accurately colour match. The following week I asked to do the same and the rude woman couldn't have been more condescending, sneeringly refusing, saying they never allowed it. (I went to Textile Express Oswestry instead that time for the 24m of Iliv fabrics plus linings needed.) Its such a pity, because this shop is not the cheapest nor quickest, but can shine with excellent customer service experience - but only with the right member of staff. Vital in this online era.

We had a problem with a kitchen blind of our own making which they fixed very quickly and free of charge
