Great customer service, going the extra mile

I have been dealing with Jane at the Knutsford branch and customer service has been fantastic. We are in difficult times and we can't always do things the way we would normally, but Jane has been so helpful and made the purchase we needed so easy. I have used Simon Boyd for years and regularly visit the Chester and Wrexham stores (when we are able to) and the staff in both have always been very helpful.

Poor customer service

Ordered cushions in August, told would be 6-8weeks. They said they would ring when ready, after 10 weeks I rang and they said they would ring back. They didn’t. Waited another 4 weeks I phoned again they said they would ring back. They didn’t. I phoned again the day after they said they would ring back, which they did after an hour, said cushions would be ready in a week and they would ring me. They didn’t, I rang on a number of occasions today. 107 days waiting for 2cushions to be told they had made one and would make the second one this afternoon. I cancelled the order. Really poor customer service and I will never know what there work is like as I can’t wait another 4 months

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

Ordered 2 sets of curtains and told they would available to collect in 2 weeks. After 3 weeks I rang to chase up the curtains and was told they would be in soon. Chased them up after 4 weeks- same response. Nearly 5 weeks after ordering I went into store to see what was going on, I was told they would chase them up that day. 3 days later I received a call to say the curtains had been discontinued.. Over 8 weeks since the order was placed and still awaiting refund.......

Absolutely excellent - Shrewsbury branch.

SHREWSBURY.
I am hopeless when it comes to curtains in terms of measurements width and drops etc. I told the staff this when I first went into the shop to choose my curtains. The staff and a lady (forgotten her name, apologies) were so helpful and didn't make me feel foolish at all. Nothing was too much trouble.

Not only was the service amazing but the curtains I wanted were in another branch which turned up the next day along with the tie backs which I had forgotten to order.

Thank you so much, I will be back when I need more curtains!

Simon Boyd sells the most amazing…

Simon Boyd sells the most amazing fabrics, truest delicious! Unfortunately the whole experience is ruined by the extremely rude and surly staff in the Shrewsbury shop! My friend and I spent a considerable amount of money in there, but the staff are the rudest I have ever come across

Very poor customer service

Engaged with Simon Boyd for providing curtains and blinds for a new build which required textiles for the entire property.

Booked the measuring service for £95 which is refundable on orders over £1000 on curtains, so had no issue with that.

Issues started after measuring service completed. During the home visit we were advised that there was a 4 to 6 week lead time on curtains, so we decided to start selecting materials on the same afternoon.

By the following weekend we had selected all bar 2 of the rooms and requested a quote for what we had selected so far. This took 2 weeks before we received it. We then decided to prioritise certain rooms first and provided details of these.

We were then advised that the quote hadn't included poles and ceiling track, which we had specified during the measuring service visit and in branch.

We then had to wait a further 10 days for an amended quote for the priority rooms. We were then advised that we had changed out options for one of the rooms from when we had the home visit, which we hadn't. The quote itself was a scan of a handwritten quote which had lots of crossings out and was hard to follow.

All the while this was going on, every time we engaged with them on the phone, we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience, when all we were trying to do is give them money for their service. As such, we tried to liaise via email but they do not seem to work with technology particularly well and have no social media presence.

Given that we are over 6 weeks from first meeting with them, we have still not even got to the stage of paying a deposit to commence the work, which has a lead time of 4 to 6 weeks.

Given that we are looking at nearly £4000 worth of work I would expect our custom to be a little bit valued.

As such we have now disengaged with them and are trying to recover the £95 for the measuring service.

The manager has since left voice messages to try to rectify the problem but it is too little too late.

I cannot comment on the quality of their curtains and blinds as we have not progressed that far with them.
