Singapore airlines has really gone downhill in the last 5 years. It is basically now like a budget airline with the seat space and they lost our luggage. Terrible customer service will not fly again

Sitting on malfunctioned business class seat and completely no inflight entertainment for 6 hours flight on Christmas eve

Usually I would give 5 stars for SQ.
First time ever feeling this frustrated on an SQ flight.
ICN–SIN, seat 15D — no in-flight entertainment, and the seat cannot be reclined at all. Not even manually. Sitting upright for the entire 6 hours flight with zero proper rest is beyond uncomfortable.

Flight was full, no seat change possible. Steward says there is nothing he can do. The only response? Vouchers.

I don’t need vouchers — I needed basic comfort and rest. Had I been given the option, I would’ve taken another flight or traveled another day. But that choice was never offered.

The seat design should be reconfigured to account for situations like this. Earlier SQ seats required manual conversion into a reclined or bed position, which meant they remained usable even when systems failed. That level of fail-safe design should be applied across all seats to prevent such bizarre and unacceptable situations from happening again.

Extremely disappointing and honestly exhausting. This is not the SQ experience I expected.

Absolute joke of an airline

Absolute joke of an airline. I’ve flown with Emirates, Qatar, and ANA, and NONE of them treat their passengers with this much disrespect. Singapore Airlines' cabin crew are absolute beetches—they kept poking and shaking me awake just to harass me about my earphones while the person right next to me was out cold and ignored.

The inconsistency is total bullshit. I paid a premium for 'world-class' service only to be babysat and targeted by staff on a pathetic power trip. My entire flight was ruined because they couldn't leave me the hell alone. Even budget carriers have better common sense than this. Avoid this airline if you actually value your sleep. Overrated, intrusive, and garbage service.

Dear members,

Dear members,
We had the pleasure of flying with your airline, and I wanted to express my satisfaction with your company and your staff, who are so friendly and compassionate towards passengers. I have anxiety that sometimes strikes unexpectedly, such as on flight SQ303 on November 4th between Brussels and Singapore. I had an attack, and if it hadn't been for these ladies, I wouldn't have been able to go on vacation! These ladies supported me with heart and soul and persevered. Therefore, I wanted to express my gratitude to this fantastic crew: IFM Linda Lim, LSS Kelly Gwee, FS Helmi, FSS Hidayah, FSS Jia Yi, and FSS Felly. PS: I'd always dreamed of flying first class, and it was a fantastic experience with you. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Sincerely, Didier & Sabine

As we are both elderly we found…

As we are both elderly we found Singapore Airlines promotion of a luggage pick up service by Airportr a real benefit as we struggle with the heavier luggage.
However when we checked in online we were advised that we had to pick up our boarding passes at the airport .
However Airportr are not allowed to collect our luggage without sight of the boarding passes (we arranged for collection the day before flying)
We spoke to a number of Singapore airline representatives who could not assist us .
They seemed oblivious to the considerable inconvenience their intransigency was causing.
Airportr were very sympathetic to our position but without authorisation or sight of the boarding passes they were unable to collect our suitcases .
As I understand this situation occurs on a number of occasions I think Singapore Airlines need to improve their support service and if they promote a service they should do their upmost to ensure that they can deliver on the service they have recommended.

Food handling and hopeless service

I have been travelling with SIA since 1996 but I am sorry to say the service and food is not acceptable with what we pay for specially if you are travelling in those cheap flight as transit though paid standard tickets. Recently with ref to booking E67QFP SQ516 16th Nov seat 51G and 51E. I paid $1800 for SYD-CCU.
I was travelling with my son in seat 51G and 51E.
No water was served and food was sreved after 2.5hrs of boarding the flight with flight time of 4hrs..

No singapore sling served anymore. No rice crisp snacks offered. Those 2 traditions were not there.
I am connecting the SYD-SIN and SIN-CCU and don't want to be treated as cheap flight passengers.

While serving food the tong used to serve the small bread roll/buns fell on the floor and the lady flight attendant didn't replaced or sanitised the tong. She continued using it! This is a health concern.

The same lady refused to give me a bread roll/bun if there are any extra/spare when I told her that the parantha is too oily. Her statement was that the meal comes a parantha and doesn't comes with bread. I was wondering who was seved the bucket full of bread in the flight when all the 3 meal options have a parantha. There was enough spare bread at the end when the last row was served. Not sure if that went to the bin unless SIA recycles the bread rolls/buns after heating!

There was no more chicken meal while my son was served at 51E. The flight attendant advised that he will check if there is any chicken left! She kept my son waiting for more that 20mins until I called her and requested to serve my son. The Paneer (lactose) and Fish (basa) was not an option for my son but she smilingly advised that there was no chicked left. I am really not sure how come chicken meal ran out at row 51. Does that mean the rest of the passengers after row 51 was served fish and paneer? Morever, basa is not a very good fish and riased in the sewer water of Asia.

It is sad that SIA can't afford to give a spare bread roll when a sache of butter is included in the meal and a oil soaked parantha. I think for $1800 and 29 years of loyality that is not what I expect specially when there are enough spares..

I have really seen how the quality of SIA had gone down since 1996 specially with the service component specially in the SIN-CCU and CCU-SIN sector. Sydney passengers pay premium price compared to Thai and Malayasian airlines. I have booked my next travel in Malayasian air and paid 30% less after adding extra luggage and priority checkin.

Thanks to your staff to motivate me after 29 years to seek other airlines and break from the blind brand loyality.

Singapore Airline

Singapore Airline, where I was being tricked in buying a seats which cost me $60 each( total $120) .

During the time of selecting seats while booking , I clearly selected the window seats but during the flight I was given a corner seats. I have completely no idea for what I have made extra payment for.

Moreover, I even shared my problem with one of the airhostess and she told me that I would be contacted by the airline within a week . But sadly I haven’t even received the mail yet.

I have always traveled with this airline and this was the first time I bought the seat hoping I would have a different experience. But unfortunately nothing changed .

Hence my loyalty with Singapore airlines ends.

Tried to book Singapore Airlines from…

Tried to book Singapore Airlines from London to Brisbane, and sent through my teenagers' school letters to get 10% student discount for them. They don't verify documents themselves but use a company called SheerID. No response from SheerID for 3 weeks and despite emailing and speaking to SIA customer service for help, the whole process was chaotic and customer reps are like bots, who can't use common sense but simply stick to protocol. I gave up in the end and booked elsewhere. Shocking, archaic customer service practice not fit for 21st century. Very disappointed as I am Singaporean and we tend to excel in most things.

Singapore Airlines has gone backwards

Singapore Airlines has gone backwards, and I would really think twice about using them again. I am in the process of trying to book a flight from Melbourne to Mila,n and while booking it via my personal accoun,t attempting to redeem Krisflyer miles and using cash at the same time, I have had nothing but issues.

Talking to their contact centre, they have said my account is under review but can't give me any additional information. As a loyal Krisflyer Elite member who has flown with them many times and has spent hours trying to solve this today, it has been disappointing. When I have asked for it to be escalated, they are unable to assist, and no manager is willing to jump on the call to discuss it with me either.

I work in travel and would be taking my client base elsewhere in the future. This type of customer service shouldn't be rewarded in 2025.

Never Fly with Singapore Airlines

Booked 2 Air Tickets to from India to Australia for my Parents through Singapore Airlines Mobile App. I live in Australia and used Australian Bank Debit card to make payment.

Next screen after payment shows me error message. Checked my bank account which shows $2500 in pending.

Called Singapore Airlines and they said booking was cancelled due to error in website and told me to pay with another card in 48 hours to secure same flight with new booking number. New booking cost me INR 2,000 more (AUD $40*) while it was Airline fault.

Commonwealth Bank informed me to call Singapore Airline and ask them to send email to bank directly regarding payment not required against cancelled booking with my details. Which is normal process in such scenario. Bank can’t refund it as payment transaction reference number was created and they needed confirmation from merchant that payment is not required.

It took 18 one hour calls, multiple arguments with Airlines and today is 6th day but Airline is not helping to sort out this matter.
Airline doesn’t have any direct line to Accounts Team and customer service can only send email to them and escalate the request.

It is horrible experience as I would have booked my whole family tickets in this scenario then it could have stuffed up my holiday plans. They could hold any amount weather it is AUD $10,000 or $20,000 and make customers to pay same amount for new booking while they are conducting SLOWEST REVIEW on earth.

Utterly pathetic behaviour and first time thought i should have booked tickets with Travel Agent.

No professional way to handle complaints, don’t have manager who can escalate the matter directly. Has no sympathy to customers. NEVER FLY SINGAPORE AIRLINES, NEVER BOOKED DIRECTLY THEM IF YOU HAVE NO OPTIONS, ALWAYS USE TRAVEL AGENT. WORST SERVICE WORST AIRLINE.

If I could give a zero star

If I could give a zero star, I would. Please don’t waste your money on this airline. Staff are rude, poor service in the flight and complaints are handled very poorly. I flew business but my experience is awful, I would rather fly economy with any other airline. My journey took 30hrs instead of 20hrs, no apology was ever issued, still waiting for the complaint to go through.

In addition of that, I cudnt even claim my miles because it didn’t submit them within 30 days, while most , if not airlines, miles are valid for 6 months.

Premium Economy is atrocious

Their premium economy is truly awful and a complete after-thought. Crammed into old A350 as a money grubbing exercise.

Flight delays, broken seat, no/incorrect meals.

Avoid at all costs, better premium economy options out there.

Always had great experiences with…

Always had great experiences with Singapore airlines, I fly from Heathrow to Perth , Australia.
The cabin crew are the best I have come across, always polite and helpful, as an older traveler I appreciate them helping me putting my bag in the overhead lockers. Nothing is too much trouble.
The cabin crew have to put up with a lot at times with certain entitled flyers, but they still smile through.
I’m an economy traveler and have been looked after , I travel twice a year to see family and recommend Singapore airlines highly

This flight from Singapore to Perth…

This flight from Singapore to Perth Australia was excellent we flew economy but found the service good. The TV screen and content of entertainment was very much appreciated. the Food was perhaps a little cool but not bad for a in flight meal. We left on time and had a smooth flight. this plane a 787 had two isles and plenty of toilets, not like the Qantas plane we flew on a few days prior, that had only 2 for 180 passengers
