Consumers also shared unexpected extra costs, rigid policies, and a noticeable decline in overall standards compared to previous years. Passengers frequently felt that paying high fares did not guarantee reliable service or adequate support when problems occurred. However, some customers also noted that the cabin crew provided polite, professional, and attentive assistance during their flights. A small group of travelers additionally praised the comfortable seating, good food, and efficient help with booking queries.

Singapore airlines has really gone downhill in the last 5 years. It is basically now like a budget airline with the seat space and they lost our luggage. Terrible customer service will not fly again

Baggage Damaged & Avoid

Baggage Damaged & Avoid

Firstly received my baggage from business class flight the lock ripped off the suitcase with it half open and also a wheel missing suitcase destroyed would not expect thjs from a business class flight!!

Had a business class flight today from BKK to Bali via singapore had to cancelled the second leg at transfer counter on a refundable ticket was assured the ticket was cancelled 2 hours before take off and to simply contact live chat

Live chat then tell me its marked as no show which was false then came up with a $15 refund on a $600 flight when the cancelation fee was only $80 lol

Next they said can change flught for next day but would cost double what the actual website was quoting sorry tripled because that was on top off what I had paid already.

Shocking service and will never use again

Think twice before booking — comfort and safety come first for our elderly loved ones

We recently booked tickets with Singapore Airlines for our elderly parents traveling from India to Australia. As a reputed airline, we expected a smooth and comfortable experience for them.

A wheelchair assistance request was made and confirmed three months prior to travel. However, upon arrival in Australia, no staff member was available to provide the promised assistance. Our parents were left to manage on their own, which caused considerable distress.

We immediately raised our concern with Singapore Airlines, and the response received was that the staff were “busy on that day.” A service recovery was offered, which we declined, instead requesting that proper arrangements be ensured for their return journey five months later.

Unfortunately, despite the assurance, the same issue occurred again during their return trip. Once again, no wheelchair assistance was provided, and we received a similar explanation from the airline.

This repeated lapse is highly disappointing and reflects poorly on the airline’s commitment to passenger care—particularly for elderly travelers who rely on such services.

We hope Singapore Airlines reviews its internal coordination and service procedures to ensure that wheelchair assistance requests are honored without fail, and that passengers requiring extra support are treated with the care and respect they deserve.

Decent Flight but Not as Impressive as Expected

I flew with Singapore Airlines from Singapore to Tokyo last month, and while the experience was okay, it didn’t quite live up to the hype. The crew were polite and professional, but the service felt a bit rushed during meal times. The food was average not bad, but not memorable either. My seat was comfortable enough, though the in-flight entertainment system froze a few times, which was annoying. The flight was also delayed for about an hour without clear updates. Overall, it was fine, but for the price and reputation, I expected a bit more attention to detail.

Service and Handling of Special Assistance

I’ve been a loyal Singapore Airlines passenger for many years and have always been impressed by their service. When I booked my flight four months ago, the representative I spoke to was fantastic — helpful, professional, and reassuring.

Unfortunately, my recent experience arranging special assistance has been the complete opposite. Despite confirming my requests several times, there’s been confusion, poor communication, and a lack of clarity about what support will actually be provided.

It’s really disappointing, especially from an airline I’ve always trusted. I used to feel confident flying with Singapore Airlines, but now I’m honestly anxious about how things will go. I hope they take this feedback seriously and return to the high standard of care they were once known for.

Deeply Disappointed by Singapore Airlines’ Handling of a Visa-Free Transit Issue!

I’ve always respected Singapore Airlines, but my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. On August 26, 2024, my family and I were denied boarding at Singapore Changi Airport while traveling under China’s 144-hour Visa-Free Transit Policy. Singapore Airlines staff explicitly told us that train travel was not permitted under the visa-free policy, which turned out to be false. In reality, the policy allows departure by train — the only distinction being that tickets must be from Guangzhou East, not Guangzhou South. Had this crucial information been communicated correctly, we could have simply purchased new train tickets on the spot. Instead, under immense pressure and confusion, we were forced to buy last-minute flight tickets at three times the cost of our original train fares.

I have written letters to Singapore Airlines’ CEO Mr. Goh Choon Phong, and SVP of Customer Experience Mr. Yeoh Phee Teik. Unfortunately, neither executive office acknowledged or responded to any of my letters. Instead, my case was repeatedly routed to a customer relations associate who refused to accept responsibility for the misinformation provided by the airline’s staff.

Even after escalating to CAAS and the U.S. DOT, the matter remains unresolved. I hope this review encourages Singapore Airlines to take responsibility and ensure staff are properly trained to give accurate information to passengers.

POOR COMMUNICATIONS

My friend and I flew from Paris to Singapore to find our bags were left behind. We spent an hour filling in forms at Singapore Lost Baggage and gave AirTag proof for both pieces still sitting at Charles De Gaulle. Both bags had been red tagged Priority with Wheelchair flag. We subsequently received no apology, no updates of intended actions by SA and only found out they were to be delivered 50 hours later after chasing SA for updates. Had to buy some clothes and toiletries to tide us over in the absence of updates. Very disappointing and frustrating. And no compensation. Would not fly with them again.

Luggage delayed and no apology.

Luggage delayed and no apology.
Flew direct from Paris to Singapore October 2025 and when we arrived our 2 pieces of luggage (as per our AirTags) was still sitting at Charles de Gaulle airport. We lodged lost report and our luggage arrived 50 hours after us. We had to buy clothing and toiletries to cover those few days.
We received no apology and no ability to seek compensation from SA, just a letter for our travel insurer. This was pretty useless to me as my expenses were $300AUD but my excess claim fee is $250AUD.
Never flying SA again. Furthermore, the service and food were quite good but nothing to rave about. Also, some of the planes were flew were looking very shabby on the inside.

Very poor service when things don't go to plan

Good service on board, lots of legroom. All good until you actually need their help outside the aircraft. We had to divert to Australia (en route NZ) because of a medical emergency on the plane - completely understandable. When we finally reached NZ, we missed our connection and were rebooked...to 24 hours later. Not acceptable when I had already been flying for around 38 hours and had a child with me. Other people who had not flown so far (and had no children with them) were put on the very next connecting flight instead ahead of me. Singapore couldn't/wouldn't explain why they did this. Not good enough for the money paid - I have now booked next year's flight with a different airline. Avoid if you need to be looked after if things go wrong and you are travelling with others.

44 Days Without My Bag

44 Days Without My Bag — Medication Lost, No Answers, No Accountability

I flew Singapore Airlines Business Class from JFK to BKK… and it’s been 44 days since they lost my luggage. Inside were prescribed controlled medications and all my clothing for a 30-day international trip.

I’ve called, emailed, and even gone to the airport in person. The airline provides nothing but automated replies and hollow apologies. No updates, no compensation, no ownership… just silence.

This experience has turned what should have been a premium journey into a nightmare. The lack of care and follow-up from Singapore Airlines is unacceptable, especially for passengers traveling with essential medication.

If you value your health, safety, and belongings, do not trust this airline.

Singepore Airlines made us miss our flight

We had a transfer form one singapore airlines flight to another. The first one was delayed and we almost didn't have time to get the next flight. When we arrived at the transfer airport, a Singapore airlines worker stopped us and wouldn't tell us why even though we asked. He finally let us go and we ran towards the next flight, but just missed it. If we hadn't been stopped and if the first Singapore Airlines flight hadn't been delayed we would have made the flight. The journey ended up taking 40 hours instead of 20.

Exceptional Service and Worth Every Penny!

Singapore Airlines truly stands out for its amazing staff — always patient, humble, and smiling. Every crew member we interacted with was genuinely helpful and made the journey feel comfortable and cared for.

In a time when many airlines are cutting back on small touches like hot towels, dental kits, and other thoughtful amenities, Singapore Airlines continues to deliver a premium experience that feels personal and worth the cost.

Their attention to detail and consistent service excellence remind you why they’re one of the best in the world. Always a pleasure flying with them!

Crazy conversion rate

Wow, I paid €110 in conversion rate on an €2.240,56 order without being told 😅 And no, it's not my bank that imposed the exchange rate. Just hidden far down in the terms & conditions that you can impose it.

Singapore Airlines standard has dropped…

Singapore Airlines standard has dropped tremendously.
I thought I was on Air India.
There was also not enough non-indian food for non-indians, and some of us had to eat cup noodles.

Toilets are dirty as there is pee on the floor n toilet seat.

The Indian passenger in front of me after finishing his special meal lowered his seat all the when I was about to have my meals. I requested for help from a male cabin crew to ask the passenger to put his seat upright but to my shock, the male cabin crew refused. Luckily a female cabin crew noticed I was uncomfortable and unable to eat my meals properly, so she requested the passenger to put his seat upright.

The in-flight movies are boring.

Impressed on One Flight, Disappointed on the Next

I recently flew with Singapore Airlines from London to Bali via Singapore. On my outbound journey, I was really impressed. The aircraft felt new, the economy seats were spacious and comfortable, and the overall cabin was clean and modern. The food was decent, and the service was attentive and friendly. It made the trip very enjoyable.
On my return from Singapore to London, the experience was quite different. The plane seemed older, and the economy seats were very narrow with limited legroom. At 5’4”, I usually don’t struggle with space, but I found it very uncomfortable, especially during a 14-hour flight. When the person in front reclined their seat, there was hardly any room left, which made it difficult to sit comfortably and left me with leg pain.
The service and food were still good, but it was disappointing to see such a big difference in comfort between the two flights, especially since the ticket price was the same. For long-haul routes, consistency in seat comfort makes a huge difference to the overall experience.

Non Existant Customer Service…

Having flown business class to Singapore and Aukland in March 2025 with Singapore Air/Star Allience I needed to change my departure date due to climatic conditions where I was staying. I was told that it would cast £1502 just to alter the ticket plus any other costs they could think of. Needless to say I did not take them up on their generous offer.Since my return I have written 3 letters of complaint requesting an explanation of these charges, the 1st a hand written letter to Customer services, the 2nd an email to the same dept and the 3rd to the CEO. I have received nothing in reply and consider their customer service dept as non existent or sadly lacking in its management. The secretariat in the CEO's offices are equally inifective. I would still love an explanation but it seems that no one is interested so would be very reluctant to travel with them in future just in case anything serious happened

Extremely poor disability support

Extremely poor disability support. No one to push two wheelchairs, passengers left stranded, staff claimed they couldn’t help as a wheel chair didn’t reflect on the booking. The staff themselves (at Singapore) had brought the wheelchairs to our connecting flight, put the SATS stickers on us, stranded us, and then claimed no wheel chair service was there. Then why did we have the sticker or wheelchairs from our previous flight in the first place. They also unilaterally changed our seats claiming a change of aircraft and configuration, to my shock the configuration of seats was exactly the same as I’d booked. They just changed our seats. We purposely booked seats to make movement to the washroom easy with disabled passengers. 1 family member was left dragging two wheelchairs alone while all the staff did was defend themselves, further make out experience worse by changing our seats and watched our struggle without any apologetic or remorseful or even empathetic attitude atleast.

If I could put no stars I would

If I could put no stars I would. I travelled from Sydney to the Maldives with surfboards. Upon opening my board bag (which was ripped and torn) I found one of my boards to have extensive damage. I wrote to the airline and was originally told that it was their fault. Then I received an email absolving themselves of any blame. I have heard that Singapore airlines use subcontracting baggage handlers now to keep their profits high and that bags are getting regularly damaged. Very Disappointing!!
