Scam Like Tactics Hidden Fees After You…

Scam Like Tactics Hidden Fees After You Pay

Skiplagged completely misled me. The app showed only $7.95 due now, and I paid thinking that was the full price. Only after payment did they reveal another $56.63 due at the hotel — and when I arrived, I was charged $131, plus $20+ for parking.

This is deceptive and dishonest. The real cost is hidden until it's too late. Customer support was useless and didn’t resolve anything. Feels like a scam. Avoid this app at all costs.

Buyer beware

I suppose they can have one star for providing useful information. However, buyer beware. If you need customer service, it’s a nightmare. I made the mistake of booking a hotel through the Skiplagged website, there was an issue with the hotel and they were refunding my money. After a weeks time, I realized my refund was not happening and I reached out to customer service. I still don’t have my refund two weeks later, the customer service people keep changing the requirements, and blaming their booking partner. In the future, I’ll use skiplagged.com to gather information But never to actually book something.

Great prices but terrible customer…

Great prices but terrible customer service. Booked for 2 people in my friend group for a flight from NYC to San Jose, $90 per ticket. Great price. Unfortunately, I mixed up which friends were going, and had to change the name on the ticket. Totally my mistake, and I expected to pay like a $20 dollar fee for the name change. However, Skiplagged wanted to charge me $120 for the change, more than I had paid for the ticket. Spent 2 hours talking with a representative who eventually changed the name for a $75 fee, but only because they misquoted it earlier in the conversation. $75 for a name change is egregious.

Attention : SKIPLAGGED

Attention, Unwary Customers!

Skiplagged, a company that deals with cheap tickets, is a scam. Be careful! Their automation is so fast that they might even generate a ticket for next year or even your next life if you’re not careful! They steal your money. I was an innocent victim of the speed and cunning with which this company operates. Stay far away from them.

I miss the old Skiplagged

Man I miss the old Skiplagged. They are now using third parties like Wizfair which is a super sketchy company. I booked a flight which has been pending for hours. I emailed Skiplagged and the rep told me I had to call their number to cancel. But it took them 15 minutes to even answer my call, and now I've been on hold for 20 minutes. When they finally answered, they didn't ask for my name or a confirmation when I explained I my booking was on hold, they just told me they'd look into it and put me back on hold. How do they even know who I am? I'm so disappointed and super stressed out. Terrible experience. Meanwhile I'm sure the prices on the ticket I need to book are soaring. Still on hold, hoping for the best possible outcome.

So I booked a hotel room though…

So I booked a hotel room though skiplagged which is partnered with Priceline for Comfort Suites hotel. Apparently they don’t book to locals since I had a Rock Hill, SC address on my license but I live in GA. They wouldn’t book the hotel to me so it’s been almost a week now and nobody from any of these companies have approved my refund! DONT BOOK WITH THEM! THEY GIVE YOU THE RUNAROUND LIKE WHY EVEN HAVE THIS AS AN OPTION AND YALL DONT BOOK TO LOCALS! That’s just stupid! Taking people money!

My reservation was for frontier…

My reservation was for frontier Airlines leaving Atlanta GA at
8 15 am I arrived at the airport at 5 30 and was checked in for gate D3. I sat at Gate D 3 for several hours and saw no movements or heard no gate announcements. at around 8 15 I got up and searched for a gate agent to find out the status of my flight. There were agents at gate D1 so I went to them to inquire about my flight. The frontier agent at the gate who was rude, dismissive, and non-concerning said " your flight left" followed by it will cost you $400 to leave today. My job, life, and my plans are now in disarray. Thanks FRONTIER AIRLINES

Affordable rip off- do better

I am writing to share a deeply concerning experience I recently encountered with Skiplagged. As someone who values honesty and transparency in business dealings, I want to bring to your attention the unethical practices and false advertisements perpetrated by this company.

Recently, I attempted to book a family vacation through skiplagged- through hotels website after being enticed by what appeared to be a significantly lower rate compared to other platforms. However, upon closer inspection and after completing the booking process, I was clearly a LIE. To discover that the rate offered was not honored, and I was charged a significantly higher amount.

What is particularly egregious is the complete lack of terms or conditions listed on the booking page that would have alerted me to the possibility of such deceptive practices. It is unacceptable for a company, especially one with a million-dollar reputation, to exploit customers who are simply seeking an affordable vacation for their families.

I want to urge you and others to exercise caution when considering booking with them. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Together, we can hold companies accountable for their actions and protect consumers from being exploited!!! I hope you do better!

Booked 2 one way tickets to Phoenix

Booked 2 one way tickets to Phoenix, AZ from Las Vegas, NV. My husband’s ticket was for the correct airport, my ticket was from Phoenix to LA, CA. Good luck trying to contact them, no phone number. I was able to finally cancel my flight. Save anxiety & book with someone else. Am Airlines doesn’t except this company at all and will not work with you, so don’t mention their name.

WARNING for American Airlines:

WARNING for American Airlines:
I booked a skiplagged ticket and threatened by the agent at checkin. She said if I didn’t get on my second flight I would be banned from American Airlines for life. A choice I thought would save me $150 ended up costing me a total of $600.

Full Story:
I had to book an unexpected flight for a funeral. I booked through skiplagged website and saved $150 on a skiplagged flight compared to a direct flight, or so I thought. I planned to get off at my layover destination and brought a small carryon bag as recommended by the website. I thought it was strange I wasn’t able to check in online. When I went to the American Airlines desk upon arrival to the airport, two of the agents just said “Oh.” They asked for my DL and passport. They said if I wasn’t going to the final destination they would need to cancel my ticket. I confirmed the destination and they asked for proof of where I would be staying so I freaked out in the moment and said I was visiting a friend and gave them a fake address I found on google maps. They noted that I wasn’t checking a bag, half believing my story, reluctantly printed my boarding passes with a warning that if I didn’t get on my second flight, AA would ban me from flying with them in the future altogether. They said that AA was cracking down on skiplaggers. I was super flustered and hated that I had lied so I went ahead and booked a direct flight ticket immediately afterwards for $450 online. I was lucky to find a same day flight.

If you’re going to use skiplagged, I would research the airlines you’re using and their policies on skiplagging. I read that some airlines including AA would send collection bills for the amount the airlines lost. I have successfully used their websites for direct flights before and I found them easy to use. I previously recommended the website to friends but I’m not sure if I would go through the trouble of booking a skiplagged flight again and risk being stranded, losing hundreds of dollars, and having such a choice put a damper in your plans.

Service fee for no service and non-existent flights charged to credit card

I purchased a ticket on their website and there was no service fee that showed on the final page of the transaction. I then saw a $46 service fee on my credit card! They wouldn't reverse it so I needed to file a formal complaint with the BBB and contest it with my credit card company. They also sold me a flight on Kiwi that didn't exist. Even though our credit card was charged, we arrived at the airport and were told that that flight doesnt exist. We then had to scramble at the last minute to reserve another flight for which we paid triple the price. Horrible.

Would not recommend at all

I don't know if these 5* star reviews are legit, but my experience with Skiplagged so far has been really poor. While booking the ticket was very easy and a good price, following up with Skiplagged to be able to manage my reservation online has been a nightmare. Neither my confirmation number nor ticket numbers that I got from Skiplagged are recognised by the airline (in fact, I had to ring Skiplagged to get the ticket numbers, which turned out to be wrong).

I currently have no way to manage my reservation online with the airline - no way to check in online, check my itinerary, book luggage or anything like that. Skiplagged keep passing me back to the airline and saying that they can't do anything to manage my booking, while the airline say they can't help me because I booked through an agent. Their customer service is pretty condescending and ends up making you feel like an annoyance for asking why your booking is not recognised by the airline.

My fault for booking via them. Never had this issue before with Travelup/ Momondo etc.
