Would give Skoda 0 stars if I could
Would give Skoda 0 stars if I could. My brand new Elroq broke down 9 weeks ago. I still don’t have it back because Skoda refuse to pay £700 for a part. They would rather I was without my car and wait for a £7 part to be manufactured. It still hasn’t been. Skoda customer support closed down my complaint because the car still hadn’t been repaired even though I was complaining about the car not being repaired. Useless. Will NEVER buy another Skoda despite them being rather good (when they work of course).
Newbury Skoda
Apart from my order being delayed my experience with Škoda Newbury has been excellent Tim the person who dealt with the collection and explanation of the vehicle did so in a thoroughly professional manner demonstrating the many aspects of the Kodiak to me even the coffee was nice
Skoda Westgate (London) Dire Service Levels
Skoda Westgate in London sold me a service plan at the time of leasing my vehicle. Which I understood to be one major and one minor service (as per the manufaturer defined maintenance schedule). I have now serviced by vehicle twice and on both ocassions was told that the items in the "major" service was not covered!
So here's the problem - if the service I bought and paid for from Skoda Financial Services doesn't cover what the manufacturer stipulates how is this fair, ethical or even legal?
There are also items I mentioned when booking my service and these were also not addressed. The sales team does a good job selling you things but their service delivery require significant improvement...

We have a 2021 skoda enyaq that has lost connectivity leading to most of the functions not working. This has been the case for 6 months with Skoda not helping. Saying something is in development but no contact since. Been 5 months now. Really poor.
Head office with no power
Our Skoda Octavia was getting close to the end of it's three year warranty and there was an issue with air flow through the front vents.
We phoned Richmond Skoda Southampton six days before the end of the warranty and explained the issue & also that we wanted it looked at under the warranty.
We were given a date after the warranty expired, but it was confirmed that it would be looked at under the warranty.
The day before it was due in the garage we received a call confirming the appointment, but we were then told there would be a £156 charge to look at the problem & any work needed would need to be paid for.
They refused to honour the warranty, even though the potential fault and the call to book it in had occurred before it had expired and also that the receptionist had confirmed that it would be covered under the warranty.
I asked to speak to a manager and was told his details would be emailed to me. That information was never sent.
A call to Skoda UK was a waste of time as they eventually told us that we would have to pay the £156 and that any repair would be at our own cost.
I have experienced appalling customer…
I have experienced appalling customer service and I am ensuring I express my significant concerns for how Skoda treats its customers across any avenues I can find.
My car had a fault (back door panel misalignment) which was picked up after around 7 months. I contacted the Skoda dealership and booked in. I had to wait 2 months for an appointment and the day before they cancelled stating after 6 months it's not covered, despite it being a very obvious fault at manufacturing level. My vehicle is open to any kind of inspection and scrutiny and it can be clearly seen this vehicle has not been in an accident or any possible way I caused this.
Around 5 months after, the problem increased and my personal circumstances had improved meaning I had time to try and deal with this issue again. A different Skoda dealership were willing to inspect after I took the issue to customer service. They ultimately stated it was a misalignment but due to time passed they can't determine cause. I went back to Skoda customer service and after a promising call suggesting they would consider finding a resolution, they emailed me the day after stating they won't be helping further.
it is beyond reasonable expectations that we must ensure all panels and trim are correctly fitted and connected to the car upon receipt.
This has passed through multiple pairs of hands to get to us, and inspection stages - if it hasn't it calls into question the entire Skoda quality assurance system. End of line inspection, final shipment inspection, receipt at port, after port, at garage, and finally us.
We aren't qualified to detect such a defect. We should be looking for superficial defects only at this stage, not structural defects. My car has now lost value on an issue that was clearly there at manufacture, yet any costs to fix this issue will be incurred by myself. Given the length of time passed since purchase, I did expect to have to absorb some of these costs, however I truly hoped and believed that given my shown loyalty to Skoda, my personal circumstances, and the clear fact this issue was a misalignment at build level, that Skoda would help in this situation. Clearly, Skoda do not value customers, loyalty, or build and inspection quality.
I will no longer be using Skoda, nor will 5 other members of my family who also have a Skoda. I hope this is a warning to others that they do not accept fault.
I will be going to social media with this. It's disgusting that as I customer of 10+ years I am treated with such contempt. I will ensure that none of my family (of which 4 people have been regular Skoda customers) never purchase a vehicle from yourselves again. I of course would never purchase a Skoda again since they cant even put together a car properly.
I want my complaint raised higher in light of the above concerns and if there is a refusal to do something then that will be further grounds for me to publicly share my concerns for how Skoda will treat their customers.
I also find it contemptuous to respond by email despite stating there would be a phone call to explore this issue further, by means if ignoring me and treating my issue with low regard.

Following an issue with my new car and…
Following an issue with my new car and undisclosed replacement parts problem I found customer service severely lacking in empathy and support. I will not be remaining with the brand when the car due to be replaced
Skoda need to do more work with their vehicles and technology
When I first went with this brand the car and the service was great however the technology of the vehicle not so great the start and stop technology works when it wants to I know there is some certain areas it can start working the amount of fuel you've got in the car so I was told by The Dealership as well as the temperature of the outside environment well let's just say they really do not know what they're talking about because my starting stopping technology of the vehicle hasn't mind of its own sometimes it works other times more often not working so it's about time Skoda actually look into the technology again I know my vehicle can be upgraded via software well perhaps you should start looking into actually making this a permanent thing regardless of the amount of the fuel in the vehicle and the temperature and also the 12 volt battery as I have looked on line and it's also affected by the atmount of amps in the battery which I've had the battery replaced previously still a problem just fix it with all the environmental problems going on in the world and the emissions as well as the cost of living as I am a disabled person with limited funds I rely on that technology to work every day get it sorted
Electric Skoda does not charge
I bought a Skoda Elroq 85 in December 2025. At no point during the process was I warned about “known” issues with home charging with certain chargers. The Skoda website still does not mention any issues but the internet is full of stories of people struggling with home charging. I believe there are similar issues with all VW group cars but cannot confirm this.
Despite being aware of charging issues and not informing me at the time of purchase Skoda are ignoring my ongoing attempts to sort the issue. As such I cannot rely on the vehicle being charged when I need to use it.
My advice would be do not buy an electric Skoda (Elroq or Enyaq) until Skoda/VW can guarantee you will be able to charge it satisfactory at home.
Exceptional service from a top-tier team!
I recently purchased my first Skoda Kodiaq from the dealership in Kidlington, and in my 40+ years of driving, I can safely say this has been one of my best experiences.
I want to give a huge thanks to Gary, my sales consultant. He demonstrated amazing patience and professionalism throughout my multiple test drives. His communication was flawless; he was always available to handle my enquiries, whether in person or online, and made the whole process feel seamless.
I also want to mention Joel (GSM), who was incredibly flexible and took the time to understand my specific needs. He ensured that every observation I had was met with a reasonable adjustment, showing a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.
The Kodiaq is absolutely living up to its name, and I couldn't be happier. Congratulations to the entire Kidlington team for their dedication and excellence. If you are looking for a stress-free car-buying experience, I highly recommend asking for Gary and Joel!
Best wishes!

Horrific customer service
I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer support provided by Skoda UK.
Following the purchase of a new vehicle, I reported faults fault within one month of ownership. The issues was investigated multiple times by an authorised Skoda dealer but was never properly resolved.
Throughout the process, I contacted Skoda UK directly. Emails were frequently ignored, and when responses were received, they consisted of assurances that were not followed through. Promised actions did not materialise, and there was a complete lack of ownership of the case.
Despite clear evidence from within their own dealer network that a fault existed, there appeared to be more effort placed on denying and deflecting the issue than resolving it. Even when presented with evidence, the approach remained dismissive rather than proactive.
The situation was allowed to continue unresolved for an extended period, ultimately requiring escalation to the Financial Ombudsman. The Ombudsman ruled in my favour, and the finance agreement was formally unwound. The vehicle has now been returned.
This outcome should never have required external intervention. With basic competence, transparency, and coordination between Skoda UK and their dealer network, this could have been resolved early on.
The car itself had the potential to be excellent, but the handling of the faults turned ownership into a prolonged and entirely avoidable process.
As a result of this experience, I will never have anything to do with the Skoda brand again. The vehicle itself showed potential, but the way the situation was handled has completely undermined my confidence in the brand.
Second class Skoda
Poor cars, abysmal robbing service agents, laughable parts prices and poor quality materials. VW themselves have been going down the toilet for a while now, and Skoda are typical of the problems VW have. Our Kamiq has now put its engine warning light on because a pipe mounted to the front end of the engine has snapped. This pipe is related to the evap purge valve (whatever that does) and is made from a grade of plastic that would be rejected as a raw material for plastic drinking straws for being too rubbish. It is thin, brittle, and includes no fewer than 3 180 degree bends in a run of under 12". It can only be bought as part of a complete assembly costing £200, even though there is nothing wrong with any part of that assembly. The dealers are lazy, incompetent thieves. the one we used told us that our car needed new front brakes at the 30,000 mile service. an independent then told us 12 months later that the brakes were fine (we did not let the agent change them, not least because God alone knows how much they would have charged for the parts (£30 for a good make on EBay) And that is just typical of what they did all through our time with them and this car.
Misleading information, unnecessary repair recommendations and lack of accountability
I have been a customer of Garland Motors Aldershot since purchasing my Skoda Kodiaq in 2021, with all servicing carried out by them. This makes my recent experience particularly concerning.
Following a serious gearbox oil leak that left the vehicle undriveable, I was provided with incorrect and misleading information — specifically that a DSG service only requires oil replacement, with no filter involved. This has since been clearly contradicted by an independent specialist who carried out a proper service including filter and associated components.
Despite this, I was charged for diagnostics and recovery and presented with a proposed repair involving over 10 hours of labour plus multiple parts. These parts were recommended for replacement without any clear, technical or professional explanation as to why they had failed or required changing.
Given the vehicle has been consistently maintained by this dealership, this raises serious concerns about the adequacy of previous servicing, as well as the accuracy and transparency of the advice provided.
Overall, this experience reflects a lack of accountability and professional integrity that I would not expect from an authorised Skoda dealer. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this garage for servicing and maintenance.
Do not buy a Skoda.
Do not buy a Skoda.
Car is great, until there is an issue. The most diabolical Customer service I've ever experienced. Took 4 months to get an appointment to look at a faulty airbag and a few other issues. I'm 4 days into the appointment and am yet to receive my car back. I've just been told they haven't even started to look at the issues, as they're still waiting for some new software to be loaded to the car. Completely inept.
They should be ashamed of their service
Would give them 0 stars if possible.
Extremely frustrating experience in booking a service. You go through all the steps on the website and then you are not able to book due to some kind of error, when you change Service location some of them fail halfway through the booking process if that was not enough spent 30 mins trying to connect via phone and another 30 mins to go through all the details to book a service only to find out that the prices are much higher then whats on the website and when questioned the operator about this they reply that they dont include labour which makes no sense. Absolutely shameful and unacceptable for a company of this size. Will never use them for any maintenance.
BEWARE SKODA - THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THEIR VEHICLES AND THEIR STAFF
Skoda Kodiaq 1.5 TSI SE L 5Dr bought from RRG Skoda Rochdale in Feb 2019. This car has a full-service history carried out at RRG Skoda Rochdale. The last MOT and full service was done on 19/11/2025 at a cost of £438.85, mileage recorded as 9232.
On 23/12/2025, the car broke down, suspected clutch problem, and was delivered to Skoda Rochdale on the back of a breakdown truck. As a result, Skoda Rochdale supposedly conducted a full investigation and ran diagnostic checks including test drives. (Yet no mileage difference shown on report.) Cost £120.00 plus a further £25 taxi cost to pick the car up as insufficient staff to deliver it back – despite my offering to pay … No fault found. Advised that we did not drive it enough.
On 18/03/2026, the exact same breakdown happened, this time at a busy junction, causing traffic chaos and putting me and my family in a very dangerous position. No longer trusting Skoda Rochdale, I had the breakdown company deliver the car to Skoda Bolton who, within half an hour of receiving it, identified the possible faults: slave cylinder/master cylinder/gearbox. Informed of a possible £3,000 bill, depending on their findings.
I have today spoken to Skoda head office, who directed my complaint back to Skoda Rochdale. A woman named Helen, who was clearly very practised in deflecting complaints, told me that there was nothing wrong with the car the first time round, despite it having been delivered to them on the back of a breakdown truck, and that I was being very unfair to blame their technicians for not discovering the fault.
Helen was dismissive and condescending throughout our conversation – and she barely took a breath in an effort to mask a genuine complaint.
After reading numerous similar negative Trustpilot reviews, it is clear that Skoda vehicles have a problem – not only with their clutch/gearboxes but also the attitude of their staff.
The only positive thing to come out of this debacle is that my next new car will NOT be a Skoda.
Recently purchased a new Skoda Octavia…TDI Manual Hatch.
Recently purchased a new Skoda Octavia from Parks of Hamilton . Hassle free from my initial phone call and test drive a few days later .David salesman was very helpful in explaining new features etc to this technophobe. Still miss my CD player but I am getting used to Hold Assist handbrake etc Very comfortable car on 200mile return trip back home despite heavy rain and sleet in Drumochter Pass .Very pleased with my purchase .
Zero back-up. Zero support
The most amazing Ev you could drive. A game changer in every tiny inch of the car. Then wholeheartedly destroyed by the most incompetent woeful backup and aftersales. Never again will I go within a mile of Skoda.
Its do bad Im desperatley trying to reject my car. They just have no support whatsoever. Its so sad, the first 3 weeks were amazing until the fault light pops up then wow the nightmare begins. Avoid at all costs or end up with £54k of sorrow.
The worst company for customer service and reliable cars
Awful company with the worst customer service I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. I will never purchase another Skoda again and would strongly urge any considering of doing so to re think. I purchased a brand new Kodiaq in September 2024 which has broken down with less than 13,000 miles on the clock at only 17 months old. The hybrid battery is supposedly the cause but I have no faith in anything that anyone who works for this shoddy company have told me so far. Skoda Wolverhampton are refusing to accept my rejection request upon the basis that the vehicle is repairable despite there being no estimated / end date for the part to be delivered. No one ever rings you back and you get told conflicting things by basically everyone who you have the misfortune of dealing with. No one wants to take any accountability or responsibility for my current situation or the countless numbers of hours I have spent on the phone. I am now going through the Ombudsman to try and obtain a solution.
Abysmal customer service and even worse…
Abysmal customer service and even worse vehicles. 5 months into ownership raised a complaint 8 months later and 2 dealers looking at the car, 1 who damaged the car twice and couldn't even carry out an update on the car after having it 3 days and and telling us it was completed. Neither garage carried out diagnostic tests and basically brushed of all faults left with a vehicle we can no longer trust and every losing a huge some of money or going further with the complaint to the financial ombudsman more stress and time wasted. They will happily take your money at time of purchase and promise the earth until you have an issue and the skoda promise is worthless biggest pile of shit ever.
