After calling the local Skoda…

After calling the local Skoda dealership and explaining the problem to the switchboard I was told that they would arrange for someone from servicing to call me back. I waited a week and still no call so I called them back and asked directly for parts. I spoke to the parts manager who sent me an email with a diagram of the fuel system. It bore no resemlance to my car. I did say that the only part that looked remotely like what I needed was the smallest piece of the diagram. I was told it came as a kit at a cost of £214.20, I asked how much it would cost if they fitted it. that was about a week ago I'm still waiting. Having checked out BRISkoda it seems that this is a very common fault with the Fabia 1.4 diesel, a forum user suggested buying a 7mm ID fuel hose from Halfords @ less than £3and using jubilee clips to secure it. I've since sent the parts manager my VIN and a photo of the failed part. No response yet. I called the main contact number 0333 and was asked to hold, after 5 mins @35p per minute I gave up.Appauling, how do they stay in business.

Less than a year old and the infotainment system can't be fixed

My Skoda Kamiq is less that a year old, six weeks ago I reported the infotainment system not working, this means no navigation, no phone interaction, no camera, and erratic behaviour by the safety features. I've put the car in for repair on 3 separate days and have now been told that it needs a part that is on back order with no availability date. Surely if they are still producing this model they would have a stock of all the parts.

Wonderful

I cannot fault Skoda Assist. I have used them for 3 different things recently. Short wait time on the phone and staff were polite and professional. Mechanics came out in a timely manner and were very efficient and professional. One very happy customer.

Out of the blue...

Out of the blue, on the 08 September, and again on 17 September 2025, I received unexpected calls from Johnsons Skoda Birmingham, the first whilst on holiday abroad. All this did was to remind me of the very worst experience that I have ever had in 60 years of car ownwnership. Let me please explain why: In May 2022, I bought a brand new Skoda Fabia from the Tyburn Road dealership. There was a heavy shower, as the car was driven out of the showroom for us, and as such it was impossible to see or inspect the car properly, until I cleaned the car a day or so later. I discovered the car had O/S rear sill damage, which I could clearly see by "blowing up" the 1st photo taken in the showroom.
As Johnsons Skoda Birmingham would not agree to giving me my money back, and were only prepared to carry out what turned out to be a pathetic "bucketshop" repair, that didn't even cover the damage (see additional photos). Additionally, we could see the foam inside the front seat backs starting to show (also see photos).
I then began my 7 month "battle" by contacting Skoda Customer Services, which was a complete waste of time, and led to one of most stressful & time wasting times of my life, but I certainly was not going to give up. It was now November 2022, and as a last ditch attempt, I made contact with Mike Berwick, Operations Director, based at Johnsons Head Office in Redditch, who at last, was apparently interested in what had happened to me, and the totally shabby way I had been treated by Skoda Birmingham. He immediately involved Ashley Gibson and the team at Johnsons VW Birmingham, who were brilliant. It had taken until 06 December 2022, but my car was efficiently collected and I was reimbursed every penny of my purchase price & even my service agreement fee (totalling almost £20,000), before it was even taken away. What an unbelievable relief that was, but that is exactly the reason why I did not answer my phone each time, as I have no faith what so ever, in the dealership, nor do I ever want to hear from Skoda Birmingham, again!! The moral of this story is: "If you have been treated unfairly, and you know that you are totally blameless, and in the right, and Johnsons Skoda Birmingham dealership senior management and staff were totally at fault. Don't give up, until you find someone in the higher organisation, like Mike and Ashley, with a similar mindset as yourself, who can also clearly see the total injustice, that has taken place."
All I hope is that this review may assist anyone else, who finds themselves in a similar position to myself?

Poor quality component and dreadful customer service.

After 11 years and 4 Skoda Octavias I hit my first issue with Skoda. My 4 year old Octavia, bought new, lightly used, carefully serviced at the main dealer and hitherto trouble free was identified as having worn fron lower suspension bushes. My concern is that after less than 13000 miles, the tyres are barely worn yet the suspension has already orn to the point that repair is needed. The fact that the suspension hasn't even lasted as long as the tyres seems to me a failure of component quality. Sadly, the staff at the Skoda call centre were amongst the worst customer service staff I've ever encountered and were totally disinterested and unhelpful. The only reason I still had the Octavia Estate was that my wife and I were struggling to decide between another Octavia, a Karoq or an Elroq. Fortunately, the Skoda customer service decided the issue - forget Skoda and try something else. Our replacement is arriving in March, another Member of the Kia family to accompany our Picanto runabout. Skoda's loss is Kia's gain.

Skoda Karoq Brake Concerns.

My negative experience began when I asked for a quote for a basic second-year service and was instead ‘steered’ into purchasing a two-year service plan. Pulman Skoda informed me my only options were to buy the plan or pay well over double the £200 I had paid for my first-year service, which I felt was a questionable way to do business.

During the service, I was contacted and informed that the rear brakes had rapidly deteriorated, showing 80% wear compared to just 10% recorded at the first-year service point. This was despite similar incurred mileage and time between services, with no change in driving style or journey types. Notably, the front brakes showed only minor wear. I was quoted £445 for the rear brake work, plus an additional £234 for a brake fluid change and a Haldex oil change. Mind blowing prices!

Feeling suspicious, I did not authorise the work and contacted the dealership (Pulman Durham) to express my concern that no investigation had been carried out into the unusual and accelerated deterioration. I was disappointed that the only response had been to recommend further chargeable work. I was subsequently told the wear could be due to driving style or corrosion from the vehicle being parked, neither of which applied in my case. This is further supported by the fact that the front brakes showed no unusual wear or corrosion.

I was then informed that this issue has been seen before on Skoda Karoq and Kamiq models and was advised to contact Skoda UK, as they had previously contributed towards the cost for other customers. Skoda UK responded, basically suggesting that excessive rear brake wear compared to minor on the front is not unusual, and they did not dispute Pulman’s comments that Karoqs and Kamiqs can be affected by this issue. They also stated that brake discs and pads are excluded from warranty cover as wear items, which did not recognise my actual concern.

My concern is not that brakes wear over time, but that the level of rear brake wear in year two was both highly accelerated and inconsistent with their condition at the end of year one, as well as with the front brakes over the same period, which remain in good condition. This raises questions about whether the components are fit for purpose. Unfortunately, neither Skoda nor Pulman Durham appear willing to acknowledge or properly address this concern.

Prospective buyers and owners of Skoda Karoq and Kamiq models should be aware of this expensive and concerning issue.

We made an appointment to test drive an Elroq in Chesterfield and were made very welcome by a member of staff, Courtney Pancs. Very professional, knowledgeable and extremely pleasant and friendly. We loved the car and we were very happy to buy it. The process was very smooth and Courtney Panks was excellent. The whole process was very relaxed.

I purchased a Skoda Superb estate from Meadens Skoda, Christchurch

I purchased a Skoda Superb estate from Meadans Skoda in Christchurch, Dorset. On collection day, I was informed that the car had been MOT'd five months after registration. Ben, the salesman, promised to address this issue, but I received no follow-up.

Two weeks later, the car's SOS system failed, and I was advised to take it to Murrays Skoda in Plymouth, where the module was replaced. However, the problems persisted, including alarming fault warnings and the car attempting to reduce my speed to 20 mph on a 70 mph road. The GPS also frequently loses location, causing incorrect speed limit indications.

Despite multiple visits for repairs, I was told the issues could not be fixed until Skoda released a new update. My attempts to contact Skoda UK for help have been frustrating, as they do not respond and I cannot reach management. I am extremely disappointed with their service. The car is still under warranty, yet they seem uninterested in assisting me. What has happened to Skoda's once excellent aftersales support?

I am astounded by the service and generosity I have received from Skoda UK. I reported an issue with my car key to my local Skoda dealer who in fairness were rude and unhelpful. I felt I had no alternative but to speak to Skoda UK. A long storey short, they provided me with a replacement key free of charge which the dealer coded to my car. Customer service rang me a few days later to confirm that everything was resolved. I confirmed it was, at which point I thought that was that. My 4 month old grandson was visiting that day, he was being a little vocal at the time. The lady I was speaking to asked me who it was, I told her. She then said she would send me a gift as an apology for my patience and understanding . She would also include a small give for my grandson.
I would just like to thank Skoda uk for there help in resolving my issue and thank them for there very kind gift. It was not necessary but greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

Bad service for used car guarantee

I purchased a skoda kamiq from group one Maidstone. Being a used car it comes with a year's guarantee and within the first two months I contacted them to let them know that there were 3 issues that I had found. But like most car dealers once you brought the vehicle it is down to you to sort out and take money just to look at it. I complained to Skoda the first guy was very helpful that is why I gave 1 stars but the explanation team just seem to not reply or just fob you.

Great experience

I had a great experience at the Škoda dealership, thanks to Lee. He was really helpful throughout the whole process, took the time to answer all my questions, and made everything straightforward and stress-free. His knowledge and friendly approach made a big difference. I would definitely recommend Winners dealership (in the Forest of Dean) to anyone looking to buy a Škoda.

Be very careful when buying from this dealership

Be very careful when buying from this dealership.

My vehicle developed a major fault within six months of purchase and became undriveable. Instead of supporting me under the Consumer Rights Act, the dealership tried to shift responsibility onto me, demanded I arrange recovery, and suggested I may have caused the issue without any inspection or evidence.

This experience has left me without a vehicle and forced me to consider legal action. Extremely disappointing customer service.

Abysmal customer service

Well what can I say. Got a new car last year, finance. I developed a fault. Emergency SOS, issue which plays havoc with my sat nav and Android auto. The problem isn't the fault, these things happen. But the problem is I work full time, I also work away. While this may be a unique problem to skoda, it doesnt allow me to get my fault rectified on a Saturday anywhere at a skoda garage. I've been onto skoda themselves, may aswell be talking to myself. Im not alone in this situation im pretty sure of that. If you buy a skoda, warranty work will only get done during the week. If you work, then you're knackered. I asked when I got the car, does the garage open during Saturday, oh yes oh yes. Ofcourse they will say anything for a sale, they didn't state you cant get in for weekend warranty work. I will say, I firstly developed this fault early October and I am being forced to live with it. Skoda auto wont bother to come out for such a defect either.

Petty cost cutting on £40k Superb.

Petty cost cutting on £40k Superb.
I just has a Skoda Superb L and part exchanged my previous model. I'm annoyed that the door pockets and centre storage have basic hard plastic linings. (Only on half of the door pockets but all the centre) Everything inside rattles. My OLD model had felt lined sides. It's been driving me mad, plus no minor storage draw on the drivers side and no sun glasses holder on the ceiling. I can't believe these really important things have been omitted to save a few pence.

Please do not buy this car if you have a pregnant wife or a newborn

We have a Škoda Kodiaq Plug in Hybrid 2025. We bought it because we have a newborn baby. I wanted a safe and easy family car.

But honest truth. This car is not suited to families, pregnant women, and babies. Not because of the seats or space. Because of the software. Actually the biggest problem is the software.

The car often will not let you reverse if there are cars nearby, or if a person is walking around. In real life this is a nightmare.

If you are in traffic and you need to reverse a little, you can forget it. The car stops every centimetre. You press, it moves, it stops. Again and again. You can spend minutes just trying to reverse a small distance. It feels like the car is fighting you.

Please do not buy this car if you have a pregnant wife or a newborn. Personal recommendation. My wife was pregnant at the time. We were standing at a traffic light. A lorry was driving fast in the next lane. Our car decided it might crash into us. It did the “crash prepare” thing and the seat belts pulled so hard that I honestly thought we would need to go to hospital. It was shocking. It did not feel safe. It felt violent.

And the last thing is BRAKING. I don't even know ho to explain this, but when you're driving and tryign to brake a bit, it will hit the brakes. just like that. no comments.

Dangerous skoda …

If you buy a skoda enyaq be prepared to have a mountain of problems which skoda won't rush to fix. One major issue is the car slams the brakes on whenever it feels like it, skoda dont see this as a serious or dangerous issue.

Poor customer service, prefer a quick buck!

Pretty poor Customer Service. Marshall ŠKODA, Reading. I reserved a ŠKODA through the website on the Wednesday, paying the £99 refundable fee which gives me 5 days to view and decide to buy.

I viewed it on the Friday and after discussing with the agent it was agreed I’d have the evening and possibly the weekend to think about it as I was gettting a quote for another vehicle.

However, within 30 minutes of leaving the dealership, I received a voicemail from the agent stating that the vehicle was being put back up for sale online by their manager, despite my reservation but I could still decide to put an offer in.

After careful consideration, I decided on the following day (Saturday) to proceed with the purchase, only to be informed that the vehicle had already been sold within the group. What’s the point in reserving a car going through the whole process to be let down?

What a waste of time that was. Prefer making a quick buck over customer service, cheers ŠKODA.
