Skoda u.k kept me waiting 5 weeks…
Skoda u.k kept me waiting 5 weeks before telling me my 12 month Skoda warranty wasn't worth the paper it was written on, They refused to work on my faulty Octavia. Disgusting disgraceful behaviour. Never again.
No respect for customers
Where to start.
Tried to buy two new cars. One was damaged on the door when they PDId it.
They assured me it would be repainted and the rest of the car would be covered over at the professional VW body shop. it came back caked in dust inside and out, finger prints all over it So I said 'no thanks'.
the second attempt was at another dealer, and the fuel pump on the Fabia was faulty. They offered to replace it, and I said 'no thanks'. They did not process my refunable deposit regardless of how many times I chased this. I had to escalate to group level.
I agreed with the non refunding dealers (Barlows Stoke) that all of my personal information should be removed from their system.
A week later I got a cold call from another Skoda Dealer in Preston - who had clearly gotten my number from the Skoda system via Barlows.
So, my advice, if you want a car - don't buy a Skoda.
Poor quality
I'm the unfortunate owner of a skoda karog, this new car is only 5 months old, but it has Been back to the dealership twice because of oil leaks on the engine, when it is financially possible i will get rid and look for a different make,I can't advise u not to get a skoda, but please consider the situation I'm in.
Would I buy a Škoda
Would I buy a Škoda
Would I buy a Škoda,
not if it was the last car to be had,
I’ve just got rid of the last one,
and I am feeling rather glad.
I had it from new,
a death trap from the start,
on many many occasions,
from this world I did nearly depart.
It would not go into gear,
and left me with no control,
my metal health was struggling,
this car was taking its toll.
It did not happen everyday,
the dealer a fault could not find,
I had to leave in the death trap,
I was in danger the dealer did not mind.
Škoda HQ did not care,
just drive it until it breaks,
no care about my safety,
oh for heavens sakes.
2 years of driving a death trap,
work have given me a new car,
it’s another bloody Škoda,
now this has gone way to far.
So change jobs or drive a Škoda,
I know what’s best to do,
I am not driving a bloody Škoda,
so that should give you a clue.
Skoda Elrog Sport. Line
Skoda Elrog sport line. The worst car I have owned. The ride is harsh to say the least. The front suspension is extremely noisy, possibly faulty.Automatic headlight dimming does not work correctly
The front driver's seat is faulty and the stated range leaves a lot to be desired
subscriptions
need to pay an annual subscription for basic features! very disappointing
Poor attitude
Poor attitude. I've had 2 Skoda Enyaq VRS's and this second one will be my last. I've done 8,000 miles in the car and it went in for warranty work as it needed new puddle lights (continuous issue) and a new interior light control board. I also had a pulsing through the brake pedal. Turns out that it needs new discs and pads as the RH front disc has warped (Fluctuating). Skoda have just told me that warranty doesn't cover it even at this mileage. I've argued that as the LH disc is fine this should be covered. I'm now off to the Motoring Ombudsman. I'm not sure I'll get anywhere but Skoda have quoted £763.00!! I always drive on regen and I don't drive hard at all. I've never seen this issue before with my Skoda's. Anyway, due to the approach from Customer Care I'll not be buying a Skoda again. I'm going Honda or Nissan from now on.
Front right led indicator module faulty…
Front right led indicator module faulty after 3 years.
It's not normal for a 3 year old model.
My car is a Kodiaq.
Is it a standard that these Kodiaqs have failures on electrical / electronic components after warranty period?
Have to pay for diganostics and needs to pay for the component as well.
What's next, the left module after a month? or another very expensive controller module like engine management system!!!!!
Skoda needs to look into this.
Drop in aftersales service and manufacture quality.
I am on my 3rd Skoda, the latest being an Octavia VRS purchased just over two years ago. During this time, I could not drive the car for 9 months due to a medical condition. As a result, it has only completed 10000 miles; most of it motorway driving. Three weeks ago the clutch failed. Despite, the low milage and age of car I was told this was due to "wear and tear" and possibly my driving style. (Never had a problem in my over 40 years of driving). Since then getting the car repaired has been difficult. It is still awaiting parts even though I was told all the parts had arrived last week. I will never buy a Skoda again
Yeoman's Helston When taking your car…
Yeoman's Helston When taking your car in for a service if it does not have a fault it soon will have. My last two services the car has been returned with brake problems, a bonnet release handle has been broken and I was charged for a replacement, This still does not work correctly. When you book your car in for a service you get endless calls telling you to book in as it is time for a service. Then you get a list of extras you can add to the service. I have my car serviced to see if there are any problems and then decide what to do. They are very expensive a friend was told her brakes needed replacing she was given a price which was more than double another garage
I would love to give Skoda zero star
I would love to give Skoda zero star, but it doesn’t exist on trust pilot. All I can say is I’m the poor person who leased a car for three years and decided to take it back four months or so early as was the option.
I have been on the phone 17 times today to try and retrieve my private registration number so I can then arrange for my car to be collected and inspected.
Nearly 2 weeks ago, I was given an early redemption figure I had to then ring back the following day having paid the fee to check they had it. I spoke to a lady that could not speak clear English. Six days later, I get a letter saying do not cancel the direct debit and to confirm how much a settlement figure was which I’ve already paid.
Fast forward 10 days and I have now been told not to cancel my direct debit and I owe them a months money which I had to pay because they’ve now damaged my credit rating and require further payments when they specifically said this was a settlement figure
I have phoned them 17 times today to try and get my private registration. I I have been on the phone chasing my tail from 9:10 until 10 to 6 this evening. All I can say is I would never deal with Skoda again I would strongly recommend nobody else to do so either. The only people will read these reviews before going through the front door. I sure wish I would have.
I have had a couple of helpful people today, but far too many that are just not cutting the mustard. I have been given documents with passwords which were incorrect. I’ve been promised emails within three hours with my details on which I have not had. I have had information given to me which is inaccurate which has caused me unseen amounts of stress, money, travelling and anxiety. And as of this evening nine days after the initial inquiry, I am just about to try and arrange the car to be collected.
However, once again the link on the website I am given doesn’t work, it directs me to another website which also doesn’t work as it’s asking me for information that I don’t have. I am now at my wits end and can’t see it ending any time soon. Not to mention the fact that when they do inspect their car, I’m sure they’ll find all sorts of things wrong with it which don’t exist just to make another final massive chunk of cash out of me.
They have deliberately misled me, played the waiting game which leads me into another month rental they have absolutely no idea how to answer a simple query and question and the paperwork that they send does not deal with the question being asked, hence why I’ve had to phone back on numerous occasions today
I can’t believe that I’d actually already started keeping a log and we were up to 9 phone calls in the last seven days, now today another 17
These people are absolutely ridiculous, Jack, if you’re out there, thank you for your help. I’ve no faith that I will be out of this contract any time soon and I’m so so sad I ever got involved with Skoda..
I was never told at all about the wear and tear policy, the salesman Nick Bramall from Skoda Bournemouth was very deceptive and quite frankly rude, especially when I needed his help the most when nothing else was working.
Mr. Bramall, if you’re out there, sorry to say that although you’re a very kind guy to start with you are a disappointment along with Skoda customer service services. How the hell they ever survive to get a business off the ground I will never know.
I had a warning about my left running…
I had a warning about my left running light. I took it into Listers where they put the car on a computer to inform me that my running light was not working. This cost me £119.00 to tell me something I already knew. They then informed me to get this repaired would cost over £600.00 as they needed to replace the headlight. This is totally unbelievable. Everything seems to be designed to cost the customer a fortune The more warning lights on your dashboard the more things that go wrong. My car is a 4 year old Kamiq .
Severe engine fault and executive office not keeping their word
Despite being maintained to a high standard and covering a reasonable mileage for its age (fault started at 74000 miles at 5 years old), the vehicle has consistently consumed excessive oil since purchase and now presents with a major mechanical fault.
Engine Fault:
A Volkswagen Master Technician (24 years’ experience) has inspected the vehicle and reported the following:
The engine produces a severe knocking noise consistent with piston slap.
Cylinder bore on piston 2 is severely damaged and discoloured, indicating oil combustion within the cylinder.
Piston 3 also shows heavy scoring and deterioration consistent with internal engine wear.
Given the vehicle’s age, full maintenance history, and the nature of this fault, it appears this fault is a manufacturing defect.
I have been in touch with Škoda and despite them doing a second investigation, which confirmed the same findings as the first master technician; they have demanded a third investigation. They finally agreed to cover the cost of this third investigation on Tuesday 21st October. I was assured I would have further details and a booking by Thursday 23rd October. Despite my attempts to further contact the executive office I have been dealing with, they have not responded and we are now another week further on. Škoda do not seem to care this is affecting my mental and physical health as well as livelihood. I have a vehicle with a sub par engine that is not fit for purpose and I do not recommend this car or engine.
I have been passed from pillar to post consistently, still with no clear path of action.
Over priced tyres and 4 wheel alignment
Complained about ripoff prices for tyres & wheel alignment, tyres are not priced competitively and 4 wheel alignment is off the charts.
Had my complaint escalated to Customer Relations, where they seem to employ someone to give meaningless apologies.
To be fair I should have left when made aware of the £450 charge.
I feel that Skoda have let me down
I feel that Skoda have let me down on customer service and the car is very unreliable considering it has only just done 40,000 miles. Skoda have not even investigated the problems with my car, or even asked for the water pump back which I still hold which the garage took out. I am very unhappy with the service that I have received from Skoda when I am a loyal customer who has owned over 4 Skodas and always maintain my vehicles to Skoda's high standards with Skoda garages. When I have spoken to customer service agents at Skoda, they do not provide a manager's name and the only person who responds to my emails is Luthando Dudumashe, who is part of my complaint, which does not seem appropriate. I have also spoken to Ashlene Daniels at Skoda who told me to shut up and listen, but she does not listen to me as the client. Luthando Dudumashe and Ashlene Daniels at Skoda are both very rude and just put the phone down on you when you complain. Ashlene Daniels confirmed that Luthando Dudumashe had reviewed my complaint and he has stated that they will not investigate it further; therefore they keep closing my complaints down with investigating it. Luthando Dudumashe and Ashlene Daniels have been negligent by not investigating my complaint and are very rude and unprofessional.
Product great. Customer Care Awful
Leased an Enyaq Sport 85x in March this year. Brilliant car, fast comfortable, easy to drive, excellent range, fast charge. Easily matches the Kia EV 6 that I leased previously. My only criticism is the Skoda support. Within one week of taking delivery the right wing sprang at the seam behind the lights pod. There is absolutely no evidence of any damage or contact that would have caused this and this has been confirmed by the maintenance manager at the local dealer. I have complained to Skoda Warrenty and they told me to get a report from the garage. I have requested this report several times and nothing has appeared and no one at Skoda seems to give a damn. This is not customer care. It is customer could not careless. I shall now get it repaired my self and send the invoice to Skoda and then take them to court if they do not honour their warranty.
Had my first ŠKODA Fabia about 2 weeks…
Had my first ŠKODA Fabia about 2 weeks and this replaces many years of having Fords and I’m already disappointed with making the change. The Fabia is heavy on petrol compared to my former fiesta hybrid STline however apart from this the Fabia is indicating faults, amber messages is popping up on the screen however seems like that until a message is red and at which point I’ve been told to stop driving, that the service centre wouldn’t be willing to look at the car so a decision has been made that I’m going to part ex the car and buy ford again. ŠKODA was recommended however I’m not experiencing them to be good cars. Hopefully in 2 weeks I’ll have replaced it, 2 cars within a month, I didn’t expect that. It’s not new, it’s a 74 reg and was only £19k so I reckon you get what you pay for. I’ll buy new next and probably a puma hybrid STline.

Awful experience with Marshall Škoda Northampton – avoid
I purchased a used Škoda Scala (KM21 XHB) from Marshall Škoda Northampton in June 2025 for £13,750. Within just 2,500 miles of ownership, the car developed serious faults: both track rod ends split, brakes were corroded and rubbing, and a persistent engine knock/tick appeared. I also later noticed poor paintwork that had clearly been covered up at the point of sale.
To keep the car roadworthy I had to spend £541 at another Škoda dealer for urgent repairs, with old parts retained as evidence. Despite this, Marshall Northampton have repeatedly denied liability, even suggesting without evidence that a third-party alignment service caused the damage.
When I raised these concerns, I was met with an aggressive and dismissive response from Damon Bell, Sales Manager, which only added to the stress of an already unacceptable situation.
Škoda UK customer service have also failed to resolve matters — repeated delays, broken promises of call-backs, and no meaningful outcome. Months later, I remain out of pocket, still driving a car with unresolved faults, and still fighting to enforce my consumer rights.
This experience has been stressful, costly, and deeply disappointing. I expected professionalism, honesty, and a quality vehicle — instead I’ve had poor workmanship, aggressive treatment, and no accountability.
I cannot recommend Marshall Škoda Northampton and strongly caution others to think twice before buying here.

Appalling customer service
Appalling customer service
Bought this vehicle from a Group 1 Auto dealer in July.
Before we had taken the vehicle off the forecourt we spotted a damaged door trim /seal. The sales ‘executive’ apologised profusely and said the vehicle would be booked in to have the seal replaced.
However, this is when the fun began - in the subsequent customer satisfaction survey we gave the dealer four stars, not five - the dealer then messaged us to state they would not have the damage repaired (not sure yet if this is a legal contravention!). Within five weeks of having the vehicle the air-con has run out of gas, and when we had this independently verified we were also notified the two rear tyres were showing signs of perishing.
You’d like to think buying from an authorised dealer gave you some guarantees, but apparently not !
How standards have fallen at Skoda!
Don't buy their cars
Purchased a brand new Skoda Karoq in 2021, it's done 13,000 miles and it's warranty has just expired.
The clutch broke making the car undriveable. I was unable to book my car in a Skoda garage for more than 6 weeks, so took it to an independent specialist. They replaced the clutch master cylinder which was faulty and leaking, the clutch slave cylinder which had an improper seal on it, the clutch plate which waa severely damaged with heat spots caused by a faulty diaphragm. In total the repairs cost just under £2k.
Skoda customer service manager (Morgan Boudjeldikca) was dreadful. They said they have no legal obligation cover faulty parts outside of the warranty, even though the car had only done 13k miles.
They clearly don't value customers who have spent tens of thousands of pounds on their faulty cars.
Shame on them.
