Where’s the Music to Review?
Where’s the Music to Review?
I used to write Music Reviews on Slicethepie because I love music. I enjoyed listening to new acts and giving helpful critiques. I logged in today after a hiatus and I do not see a way to review music. I do not mind doing the occasional survey or kid’s item, but where’s the link to the new music? Make it simple for us to see it. If it is no longer there, please let us know that. Thanks.

Enjoyable but time consuming, badly paid, and scammish
I love the site, really easy to browse, and what you have to do is really easy and enjoyable, if you like music.
The problem is that being paid 0.01 to 0.05 for review is just unacceptable. Right, you don't have to do it, nobody forces you, but if you are there is because you really need cash now.
They don't have enough tracks to keep you reviewing all the time, either.
If they paid at least 10 cents per review, that would be something. To get to those insignificant 10 bucks you probably have to review hundreds of tracks, most of them of music you would never choose to listen to voluntarily, so you have a hard time reviewing them and coming with something long and creative. You just want to say, I hate it, next.
They, the site and their people, do the following: if their automated system detects a decrease in quality of your reviews, they decrease the pay, and the contrary is also true, but it is more the decrease what you get in your ratings than your increase because, I repeat, you must listen to whatever they have up, and therefore you could be listening to the genre you hate the most. They blame the algorithm, but they chose the algorithm, not the other way around. An algorithm has no brain.
Another trick, you cannot withdraw any money until you reach 10, but that takes ages to achieve, so I guess many people get bored after reviewing for a whole day, and leave after having produced 50 or more reviews, no payment and the site has another 50 or more reviews for free.
Reviewers barely benefit from being on Slicethepie. The slice goes to the site owners.
I would be interested in knowing how much the upcoming artists pay for review and whether they would be comfortable knowing that their reviewers are people being forced to listen to their tracks even if they don't like it, and they are paid a misery to do that, or their reviews are rejected for repeating words. Yes, what you expect if I don't like your song? I will be politie and say generics because I am not allowed to move onto another track or sincerely honestly saying, I hate this song. You start at 0.01 and get up, but really, 0.05 or 0.10 is still ridiculous for 10 minutes of your time, or more.
Avoid. You won't earn any money on this, and will waste a time that you could use, say, picking your nose.

Not worth the time or effort
The website is great and all, but you can't even get your withdrawal added to your paypal the same day that you put in for it. It is very aggravating that it takes you so long to even reach $10 and when you do, you have to wait quite some time to receive it

I just have a few problems
The app/website is great and all, but I hate the fact that I can't change the genre of music I'm asked to review. One time, for the longest period, I had to review french and country music for two whole days and it was god awful because I kept getting the same songs by the French artsites which made me eventually hate their songs and leave bad reviews about how annoying their songs could get. And then the country music I got became very excessive and almost every song sounded alike. I don't even like country music that much and I made it clear that my preferences were hip/hop, jazz, R&B and pop music among some others but I kept getting country songs. It was very frustrating.
Also, the surveys need more help because I can never actually complete a survey without them saying it's full or I'm not eligible. Sometimes I would actually finish a survey but then I would get an error message. It became very unfair and tiring.
Finally, the option of reviewing videos suddenly disappeared one day and didn't come for a whole day. I had to repeatedly review music and test my luck with the faulty surveys.
There should be more freedom when it comes to reviewing because the "concise" message is triggered easily and it's annoying trying to identify where t came from.
Other than that, the app is okay
Unfortunately when the pie is sliced…
Unfortunately when the pie is sliced you end up getting a very tiny bit and slicethepie.com gets 99%. A very unfair way of slicing if you ask me.

I like the website
I like the website, the app could use some work. But they mention the app is a work in progress so that is understandable.
One thing I would change would be to offer nore insight/information of the process.
Sometimes when the comment gets rejected and we have to rewrite it, there is not a lot of specific detail as to what to change. There are times where I find myself rewriting a review 5 times for the same song as it gets rejected. This is not real common, but it happens.
Also, I have written many reviews and have cashed out a few times. I could have sworn at one point my stars were up to three instead of the two I currently have, I could be wrong though. Either way, I wish there was more detail about what I can do to get my star rating up and how to earn more.
All that being said, I enjoy listening to music, but I am just not sure my time is being valued enough. There are many times I find myself doing other things that are more profitable for my time.

A Pain in the Neck
Aside from the low pay rate for the amount of work for each written response, it seems that all the reviews have to be tailored in such a manner that pleases the company/ clients. If you write something negative, it gets flagged for not being "concise". You have to dumb yourself down to get anywhere with this site and it is a huge waste of time.
If you're looking for a means to make money, this isn't the site for it. I've had some luck with Swagbucks, but you'll have to do some research to find the perfect moneymaker for you.

I am addicted to this app/website
I am addicted to this app/website. I have 2 issues I wish the pay was more for reviews because I actually take the time to write out a thoughtful review, which brings me to my 2nd issue. The filtering process. I was trying to be honest with my review, I took the time to write it out and it kept giving me the error message. I had to take the time to go through areas and remove things to try and figure out where the trigger was. I do understand that they do not want bots speed reviewing to make quick money, but there has to be another way to verify this, like with a unique code that they have to input that when you hit complete and it says thank you you receive and have to input in random area or something. I really want to leave my most honest review. Also forgot this one, I’m stuck on 4 stars, how do I get the 5th?

You might as well try mturk
You might as well try mturk if you intend to become a slave just to earn literal pennies. You earn a literal cent for every review you do, which alone can take about 5-10 minutes. Their branding section is broken and does not work. Don't bother.

I've tried so many times reviewing for Slicethepie, but every time I leave and go back, I remember why I don't stick around. I've been a member for years on and off.... I understand that they have to make sure that the reviews we're posting makes sense and are not "copy/paste". However, I really think they need to revamp their system. The pay is low so it doesn't make sense to type out a dissertation for each song. As long as someone isn't repeating multiple words, the review should be allowed. Example, I was trying to review a song that I didn't like and expressed this in a paragraph. The system kept giving me an error message saying that my response wasn't precise. This is such a cool way to make some extra cash, but I feel that they might be so concerned with fraud that it makes it impossible to enjoy.

This one star is even too much to give
This one star is even too much to give, first, I can't even replay the song without having to reload the page, Secondly, I play the song listen to it and write a review, the length required is mostly the length of the song I'm playing and when I rate the song and click submit it says the session is no longer active.

Great website for anyone
I think that it is great for everyone as anyone can do it. But there is a problem, they often run out of things to review and this is not good as you may be wanting to grind it for 1 hour but you can only do it for lets say 15 minuets and I think that the reward should be raised a little higher even if it's just 1 or 2 p
