Ridiculous service.
Ridiculous service.
Incapable of sending me confirmation emails or even communicating without me initiating contact.
The event was cancelled and I wasn't even informed.
I had to ask for a refund and they said that they did contact me and I have to wait 21 days for a refund. Nowadays I think that's the most non user friendly policy. Especially for a small business.
I don't recommend this place. Not fit for purpose and painful to deal with.

When we postpone events, our system always send both an email and an SMS text message (as long as your number is on file). We are really sorry to hear that you didn't see either a confirmation email or postponement notification, and we would appreciate if you can give us some more information about the email address registered to your account so that we can take a look into this.
As per the Terms and Conditions on our site, you are liable for a refund unless it is within 21 days of the event as this helps us try to prevent last minute drop outs as we aim to keep numbers even for both Ladies and Gentlemen. You do not need to wait for 21 days for a refund, we are sorry by any confusion caused by this.
We have sent you a request for some more information to obtain your email address so that we can look into this issue further and resolve it, and make sure that you get your refund if it is within our refund policy. I've been to the one in Basingstoke with Shane a few times
Pros:
Shane was a enthusiastic host
Las Iguanas has nice cocktails
Cons:
Always more guys than girls
Regularly people don't show up
The environment was noisy therefore hard to hear
You have to parade in front of all the families and couples before you go upstairs
The biggest issue is that very often you'll see an overwhelming majority of guys some of whom happen to be in an unfortunate situation. This is down to the nature of online dating in that girls with good social lives don't need speed dating because Tinder
and other avenues work for them. Guys online try to match with anyone who will match with them just to get a date. But that leads to the less attractive ones or the ones who for whatever reason can't meet girls, seeking speed dating as a way to find a match.
For example not to discriminate but you might find shorter guys, disabled guys, fat guys or older men. There is no dress code either so some people dress scruffily some not so much. Then because women can match with pretty much anyone who's not model pretty online there tends to be fewer women. For some reason the women are much more attractive than the men. The women go with friends and treat it not very seriously. While the men go alone and expect a relationship at the end of it.
So what you get is nerdy men making pretty women feel awkward for 4 minutes a time and then going home thinking they'll get a date. Only for the women to click no on everyone so they get the free event the next time. Then the men feel sad, book again, the women don't turn up the next time and you have more men than women again. The money rolls in for the company and it just gets passed off as part of the course of speed dating.
This could be made better if instead of just having 20's - 30's night you had more specific categories. E.g. Gamer's Speed Dating, Disabled Speed Dating, Body Positive Speed Dating etc.
Edit: So as usual its taken 48 hours and still only 5/7 have entered their matches yet. None of those 5 along with none of the 10 last time have matched me. In fact I've been more than 7 times and only matched with 2 people one of whom never replied to me and one who went on one date and then never again. I'd be surprised if the success rate for men is above 5%.

We find it frustrating too when we have to cancel events, however we only want to run events with even numbers and sometimes it is best to postpone an event as opposed to running and event with incredibly unbalanced numbers!

Refund!! Beware!!I booked for two of us to go to an…
I booked for two of us to go to an event I believe over 3 years ago and it was cancelled.
I e mailed to ask for my refund which they have sat on all these years and its a joke!
I was advised that it had been passed over to the accounts team for a refund and nothing has come. I chased again last week and was asked for understanding as its processed in the Ukraine and they haven't been able to do anything because of the war.
I'm very moved by what has happened in the Ukraine and would be very understanding, but I have not heard anything back no update and no money.
I have chased again today and live in hope I might eventually get my money back, I just hope they have been genuine in their reasons if not they should be ashamed!. Will never use them again
Update I have now received an automated email back after I asked where my refund is and they use covid as a reason on there for delays, not the Ukraine! Mmmm the truth will out!

We are sorry that your event was cancelled in 2019, when our events are postponed we let our customers know via email and reschedule for another date, then we would always provide a refund upon request to our customers, should that be within our terms and conditions. We recieved an email and one our our team Eleisha replied asking whether you would prefer a voucher code to allow you to rebook or a refund, which we unfortunately did not receive a reply.
When we then received your email this month, one of team let you know that we would still be happy to offer this refund, however as the transaction is historic, and you told us that the card used was no longer working, we have to reach out to our financial team who are based in Ukraine. We really appreciate your patience and understanding with this matter as unfortunately is it out of our control. Please rest assured that this has been raised as a priority for the team and they are processing it as soon as they can. We will be in touch with via email today with a full update.

Despicable behaviour….cancelled the event with 24 hours notice and rolled me on to the next event with no discussion or consultation! Asked to cancel and receive a refund and have been told I can’t as they require 21 days notice! I didn’t even book the date of the second event. Suffice to say will be taking legal action/charge back if my £20 is not refunded! Dreadful - Scam Scam Scam and avoid at all costs!
