I purchased a baby blanket kit in August and lovingly worked on for a baby due in January. I finished it recently, it was the correct dimensions and I washed it accordingly to the instructions. It shrank to the size of a bath mat. Needless to say I was devastated. My main complaint however is that I have written twice to Solid and Marl and I have not even had the courtesy of a reply. In my second mail I pointed out that they did not have great reviews for customer service and this was an opportunity to rectify that. I am not a habitual bad reviewer and would have loved to find an amicable solution with them. Alas they lost the opportunity. My advice to future customers is at the very least do not wash at the recommended 40 degrees. If you di have problems do not expect this company to respond to you.

The yarn seems lovely. Unfortunately the customer service lets this company down. I was promised one colour yarn, and received something different. The company refuse to pay postage for me to return the incorrect yarn. They really don’t seem to care about customers at all once they have got their money.

I have just received the granny blanket kit and I have to say the wool is beautiful. This is my first attempt at crocheting and the pattern included is everything you need to know and the instructions for basic stitches required are very easy to follow. I would highly recommend this company and will be returning for further kits once I have completed my blanket. Thank you

I was given the Simple Silver Necklace Crochet kit as a gift and am still attempting to complete it after several months trying on and off. Basic instructions with no diagrams. Also, do not take the yarn off the card and wind into a ball as suggested. This simply results in the yarn becoming twisted and tangled as it is metallic. Much better to leave it in the card. I will persist with this project, but it is looking nothing like the picture.

I came across Solid & Marl looking for an easy knitting kit as a gift for my niece who is a novice knitter. I was delighted with the easy 2-colour scarf kit & I even got it in Slytherin colours.
I also treated myself to the random granny squares crocheted blanket kit & have since got it in the other 3 colour ways!
I love the wool - it's lovely to crochet with & I think I may have to get some more & knit myself a cardigan.
Hmm, now what colourway should I go for...

It's still a work in progress but I'm obsessed with the Pom-Pom Blanket! My mum sent me the kit as a gift and as a first time crocheting, I have found the yarn fab to work with and have picked up the pattern very easily once I got going. Having made a mistake at the start I ordered additional yarn and the customer service is 10/10. Can't wait for the final blanket and to order my next kit to work on.

I've had two blanket kits from Solid and Marl and have been delighted with them both. The yarn is lovely to work with and the colours are fabulous. The kits come beautifully packaged and would make a great gift for someone who loves to crochet, or indeed who is new to crochet. The instructions for the blanket came in booklet form and were very easy to follow. I would definitely recommend Solid and Marl and will be using them again myself.

Absolutely love my pom pom blanket kit. It comes beautifully boxed with easy to follow instructions. Was a great thing to have during lockdown.

The blanket kits really are fabulous. Vibrant colours, beautifully wrapped and perfect to give as a gift. Arrived quickly and great value as they were in the sale.

Have made the granny square blanket and then bought the yarn to make it in 2 other colours.
I have now bought the kit and have just started the colour changing blanket and have ordered the pom-poms blanket.
The yarn is lovely and the finished blankets particularly nice to snuggle in when watching TV,
The service has always been excellent and the product arrives promptly.
I came back to crochet in lockdown after about 40 years and using the kits have been inspirational.

I ordered the crochet Pom Pom blanket, with enough wool to make the extra large size. The package arrived quickly. I have started the task and the wool is lovely to work with, even though I am a relative beginner. The colours that I will be using for the stripes are very striking - I can’t wait to wrap it round me - hopefully by Christmas!

I choose Solid and Marl crochet kits to keep me busy during the first lock down. I was attracted by the modern pattens and vibrant colours. As an inexperienced crocheter, I found the instructions and wool first class. Beautifully packaged and well presented. Ideal as a gift. I have now made a larger blanket and scarf. Now looking forward to starting another project.

I have only recently learnt how to crochet but have now purchased several different Solid and Marl blanket kits and they have all been beautiful. The wool is lovely to work with and the colours and designs are beautiful.
My mum and sister have also now began crocheting and have been just as pleased with the rainbow blanket kits that they have purchased. The pattern instructions are very clear and straightforward to follow and the customer service at Solid and Marl is excellent.

I have purchased many products for myself and as gifts. The speed of delivery is excellent and the customer service response is very quick and helpful. I love the quality of the wool and all the items I have made are beautiful. I just love the way they come alive and transform once washed, exactly as per the instructions.

Solid and Marl's kits helped me get back into crocheting and I really enjoyed their products.

I think the instructions in Solid and Marl's kits are very straightforward and easy to follow even for a complete beginner. The kits also come beautifully packed, so they are a great gift for your fellow crocheters.

I've already made a few of their scarves and blankets, which make a nice gift for your friends and family. I also liked using their Pro yarn for other projects. The yarn comes in a great variety of colours and you can create any weight you need (just make sure you've purchased enough of it).

I hope they'll add more kits soon.

I remember years ago my granny crocheting blankets by making granny squares with all her left over wool. The colours didn’t match and it did nothing to make me want to crochet. Fast forward several years and now a keen crafter myself, Solid and Marl popped up on my Instagram page. The grey granny square blanket caught my eye immediately. The colours were so beautifully put together and in no way did it look like the blankets my granny made all those years ago. It prompted me to look on their website and I bought the kit for the herringbone crochet scarf. The wool arrived beautifully boxed with the pattern and hook included. The instructions were very easy to follow and there was more than enough wool to complete the project. The quantity of the yarn is fantastic, which is perhaps reflected in the price, but the finished product is so nice it is well worth it.
Since then all my friends have asked for scarfs and had such difficulty choosing colours as they are all beautiful. I have bought the kit for the Pom Pom blanket and can’t wait to get started.

I was introduced to Solid and Marl kits at the beginning of the first lockdown and they've kept me company ever since. I am now on my fifth throw. I hadn't done any crochet since my granny taught me decades ago but they are manageable for beginner and expert alike. I have made a baby blanket, granny squares, bobble throw and my absolute favourite, the pom pom and stripe blanket. I love the lambswool yarn, the colours, the clear instruction booklet, the stylish packaging. They also make wonderful luxury gifts - for my mum and a friend's new grandson. The colour change blanket kit is on its way.... All highly recommended.

The yarn is amazing, I started off with the Pom Pom and stripe blanket then slowly worked my way through all their kits. I have made the bobble blanket in 3 different colours now for friends/family. Vicky has always been really understanding when I put what seems a very stupid question to her. Obessed with the amount of colours they have!!

I stumbled across Solid and Marl when searching for a crochet project and I couldn’t be happier.
The quality of their yarn is second to none; it’s super easy to work with, it’s the perfect mix of strong yet lovely and fine enough to make joining yarn seamless.

The colour swatches on the website are true to the yarn colour you receive; the biggest problem you will have is which to choose as there are so many to choose from!

I’m not great at reading/following patterns and often design my own projects but the patterns from Solid and Marl are easy to follow and have encouraged me to try something new.

The yarn tightens beautifully once washed to give your work the most beautiful professional finish. I wouldn’t buy my yarn from anyone else

I am new to crocheting over lockdown and thought I would learn a new skill and it would keep me busy. I came across the pompom blanket kit but decided the colour choice didn't work for me. I ordered the pattern and then worked out which wool in which colours I needed - which took some time on my part as there are so many to choose from. The box arrived - such beautiful wool!
I was so delighted when I finished it. I've now done the same with the bobble blanket which is coming along nicely... I ordered my mum the zigzag scarf kit and she is enjoying making it immensely.
I have had great customer service from Vicky who has very patiently answered all my questions when I have gone wrong or can't work something out!
I would definitely recommend.
