Never rent from sommerhusedanmark.dk and VisitMors / Morsø Turistbureau
Sommerhusedanmark is partner with and hosts the houses of VisitMors / Morsø Turistbureau and they act like scammers. We rented a summer house from Sommerhusedanmark.dk and upon arrival we found strong offensive chemical smell at the house, that our child was casting up and we could not tolerate it. We asked for an alternative house and they refused to offer any alternative, sommerhusedanmark just denied any responsibility and said your problem is with our partner, VisitMors. The later was extremly disrespectful and their employee asked us to leave the key at their office postbox. We expected that he would clean the house or find a solution and left temporarily, yet he simply denied the presence of any issue. We asked for a refund and they refused to refund, even though we could not use the house at all and had to leave 2 hours after arrival. Customer service from Visit Mors was very rude, arrogant and disrespectful, and customer service from sommerhusedanmark aren't better. I paid approx 11,000 dkk and got nothing, even the deposit and consumption fee were not returned. Do not use these scammers.

we are of course sorry if a dispute between the tenant and the responsible agency on site does not end amicably. When you contacted Morsø Tourist Office, the employee offered to come out and inspect the house with you, but due to a busy schedule, it would take some time. You declined this offer as you didn't want to wait and therefore you were asked to leave the key in the letterbox. You were also informed that a possible relocation would only be considered after the employee had inspected the house. You have not given Morsø Turistbureau this opportunity, due to your immediate departure without the possibility of inspection. Subsequently, 4 different people have been in the house, both Saturday evening and Sunday morning. None of them could detect the strong chemical odour. The owner is entitled the full rent and therefore a refund of the rent was refused. However, as you were also informed, you will of course receive your deposit and cleaning fee back.
We apologise that the case ended this way, but you are of course free to pursue this case further via Ankestyrelsen.
