Polite and efficient service

My letting agent sent someone from Spin Doctor round to fix my washing machine as it wasn't draining. The man was there for about an hour and replaced the drainage pump. He also gave me a few tips of things to try if the problem happened again. So far it's been much better indeed. He was really polite and seemed very knowledable so I'm very happy with the service indeed.

Quick and speedy service

Quick and speedy service. Booked online the night before and the engineer arrived the next morning and did the repair. I am very happy and think it was a fair price.

Really poor customer service

Really poor customer service. Was told that same day repairs are rarely possible despite what the website claims, before being messed about with inconsistent messages for several days whilst my tumble dryer was out of action. Needed to take the dryer door off to diagnose the problem (& help save their engineer time) & was initially told this wasn’t an issue before they then refused to fulfil the repair because I’d “tampered with it & some customers kick off” & blame them for damaging their appliance. Weren’t interested in listening to me or helping.

UPDATE: After leaving this review, Spin Doctor sent me the following text:

Hi Andrew, please be aware that if you leave any "false" reviews you may be liable for any loss of business that our solicitors will deal with. Thanks

REPLY TO SPIN DOCTOR RESPONSE:
Thanks for acknowledging this feedback. I have not claimed that you attended my property or took any payment. I’m merely relaying my experience of your customer service, which is all truthful. I was given inconsistent messages about my request to use your services, which was disappointing. Threatening legal action for leaving a review is heavy handed when you could just acknowledge my experience & consider how others might fair better. I’m sure lots of customers have been very happy with your service, myself & others who have left critical reviews have had different experiences.

It is very disappointing to receive this review, as we have not attended this customer’s property or taken any payment from them. Photos were sent to us on a Sunday, however we do not operate on weekends. While we do offer same-day appointments where possible, this cannot always be guaranteed during busy periods. In addition, we are unable to attend or carry out repairs on appliances that have been tampered with, due to insurance requirements.
We pride ourselves on being an honest and reliable company, and false reviews can have a significant impact on small, family-run businesses. For this reason, we take such matters seriously.

This is the second time I have used…

This is the second time I have used SpinDoctor on a very old machine. The first time was in 2023, They fixed my noisy indersit. They were very helpful, even showed me how to get the best out of my machine. This time they were unable to repair as the parts were going to cost too much and it would make more financial sense to buy a new one. Even though Craig was sure this was going to be the case on his first inspection of the machine, he still palled it out, he took the back and belt off to show us the problem. He was very helpful. I highly Recommend SpinDoctor the are very trustworthy and very good. They kept in contact with me and were very easy to call up. I was always able to get hold of someone instantly.

Both Scott & Ashley from Spin doctors…

Both Scott & Ashley from Spin doctors were extremely helpful and efficient with their job. Our washing machine door was stuck due to a broken handle and they were able to quickly identify and work on it.

Great service

After realising swapping a washing machine machine seal would not be as simple as YouTube suggests. I called spin doctors and I was booked in fast, they text me to say on the way. They got on with the job quickly and competently no mess and tested everything. Stress free for me. I would recommend.

Look carefully at all reviews

I would strongly advise others to think carefully before using this company.

I paid a call-out fee and an additional charge for a replacement part after being told my appliance had been repaired. However, when I used the machine shortly after the engineer left, it was still not working.

When I raised this, I was not offered a refund for the ineffective repair. Instead, I was encouraged to purchase a replacement appliance from them, with the suggestion that the repair fee would only be refunded if I bought a new product through the company.

I also felt uncomfortable with the tone of communication when I raised concerns and left feedback.

Based on my experience, I would not use this service again.

All prices are explained at the time of booking your appointment, this is followed by a text message and an email with our terms and conditions. Our prices are also listed on our website so we have no hidden fees whatsoever. We have tried our best to repair your appliance but I am sure you can understand not all repairs will be successful. If the parts that are fitted are not successful we will always refund the part for the customer. Unfortunately, we do still have to charge our call out fee to cover the costs of our engineers, vehicle, fuel and insurance costs. I do realise this is frustrating for customers but we are a small family run business so can not offer free call outs. We do try to offer discounts off new machines for our customers if the appliance need replacing, this is to offer a service not for any other reason.

Great service

Great service, quick turnaround!

Tumble dryer fixed within 24 hours of initial contact, from the initial customer service to the engineer keeping us well informed on time of arrival to a reasonable price.

Would definitely use again.

**response to your response) this isn’t the case as I was standing next to your engineer the duration of his visit. Anyway we could go back and forth but I’m only making others aware of my experience but seems from some latest reviews I’m not the only 1.. you have my email if you wish to communicate but all communication stopped.

Rang these guys for a faulty dishwasher.
Quick response and non returnable payment.
The guy was in my house no longer than 10minutes, and said nothing wrong with the dishwasher it’s the pipework under sink. (Baring in mind it’s less than 2 years old) he left and the problem was still there.
Contacted a different company that said there a problem drawing and he cheaper to get a new dishwasher than try and replace so did that.
This company just want your non returnable money act quick and leave you in the same position.
Tried to sort out over email but just get ignored so have to warn others.

We attended the property to investigate the reported issue of the dishwasher not washing properly and producing an unpleasant smell. During our visit, all components were checked and tested, and no faults were identified with the appliance.
As no defects were found with the dishwasher itself, we would not recommend replacing the appliance. Issues such as blocked pipes or problems within the property’s pipework can often cause these symptoms, which is why we advised that the pipework should be checked. If the alternative repairer has advised that there is a drainage or drawing issue, this may also be consistent with a blockage or restriction within the pipework.
We have photographs of the diagnostic tests carried out during our visit and believe that all appropriate checks were completed on the appliance. In order to review this matter further, we would appreciate the opportunity to see the reports provided by your plumber and the alternative repairer.

Called on Saturday robbed on Monday

Called Spin Doctor on Saturday , Element died in the oven, they could not come until Monday , fair enough but they wanted £94 for the call out. I should have stopped there and said no thanks, anyway the very nice man turned up on monday afternoon, his first day with the company did his job well and efficiently so this does not relate to him . My point is that he had to charge me a further £64 for the new element he fitted. I am angry because I reseached the price for the item on the line and the lowest price £9.99 to £19.99. I will do the job myself in future rather than be ripped off again by Spin Doctor.

You were charged £42 + VAT for the oven element. Parts are only fitted once the cost has been agreed with the customer. We always use quality parts that we recommend for your appliance to ensure reliability and correct compatibility. While it is possible to purchase elements online, they may not always be the correct version required for your specific model. All of our charges are clearly listed on our website and are explained when booking the appointment. Leaving a review of this nature after the repair has been quoted, agreed, and paid for is therefore quite unfair.

Honestly do not bother!

Honestly do not bother!
One of the worst local businesses I've ever used.
Reported a simple fault with my washing machine door seal, had to fill in all the details of the machine and include photos online, great start, easy process. Contacted me, didn't have part in stock, no problem, couple of days wait.
Now a 10 minute fix turns in to 2.5 weeks of incompetence and arrogance.
Engineer turns up, brings the wrong part, tries to come back next day. I said "No, can you go and get the right bit and come back, got two kids and had no machine for 3 days." He goes, comes back, 10min install, done. £142!
Next day machine starts leaking again from a different place. Call them back. Engineer says we have to wait another 5 days for more parts but 110% he fitted his bit correctly. Refuses to come and reassess the machine. Pay another £52 for more parts, book new appointment. Phoned day before to adjust my availability for appointment, just the time, not the day; automated machine books me into a timeslot that doesn't exist. So engineer comes when I'm not home. Have to wait another 4 days for another appointment.
Different engineer turns up tells me I need another £30 in parts before it's even been repaired (also get a text message the day before adjusting the bill before they've even looked at the machine.) Installs £50 and £30 part, would you believe it, still leaking... And why... The part the first engineer fitted and assured me 110% was fitted correctly was fitted incorrectly and was leaking. Pure arrogance! So now take all the new parts I never needed to pay for out of my machine, reinstall the old parts that were fine. Start refund process for parts.
Contacted office to make a complaint as by this time I've had no machine for 2.5 weeks, and 13 days of driving to parents and launderette to wash clothes and school uniform, all because of poor workmanship.
Asked Spin Doctor for my call out fee back as compensation and said I'm happy to pay for parts I needed. Was told NO, because; even though they caused the issue the "timescales involved in your repair were significantly shorter than the current industry average" and "We do accept that communication and aspects of the process could have been smoother, and for that we apologise. However, we have already refunded you for the parts that were not ultimately required, and we will not be offering any further refunds. The call-out fee covered diagnosis, attendance, and labour across the visits provided."
So you have it... I paid £145 to diagnose my own machines problem, paid for them to drive to me with the wrong parts and at the wrong time 3 times, and paid for labour to install part wrong, two parts I didn't need, and then put my machine back together again.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Just to confirm the seal arrived on 6th February and, at your request, we booked the visit for 10th February, which we attended as agreed. On 13th February you reported a leak. We logged this immediately and, following discussion with the engineer, advised that an additional part would be required. This part was ordered and fitted during our return visit on 23rd February. While we understand that being without a washing machine is inconvenient, particularly with children at home, the timescales involved in your repair were significantly shorter than the current industry average. Many appliance repair companies are presently quoting 2–3 weeks for an initial call-out alone. We attended within five days of your first contact and returned within ten days of the leak being reported once parts were available. We do accept that communication and aspects of the process could have been smoother, and for that we apologise. However, we have already refunded you for the parts that were not ultimately required, the call-out fee covered diagnosis, attendance, and labour across the visits provided.
We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us review and improve our service standards. Your comments regarding communication, billing clarity, and appointment scheduling have been noted and will be addressed internally.

Knowledgeable and Efficient

I called spin doctor on Saturday and left details with the AI assistant system. They called me first thing Monday and the engineer Scott was with me the same morning.

Scott checked and fixed the problem for no additional cost other than the call out fee.

Very impressed, knowledgeable and efficient. Would definitely use them again should the need arise.

Great service and good price

We had a great experience with Phil from Spindoctor. Our kitchen extractor fan had been getting increasingly noisier. We had taken it apart and cleaned it ourselves but the noise remained. It was really easy to book with Spindoctor and Phil came round the same day. He quickly worked out the problem and fixed it. Highly recommend

Excellent Service

I contacted Spindoctors as I was considering my options and costs when my oven broke. Contacted Spindoctors and they were at my house within 30 minutes. Scott, the engineer arrived and he talked me through everything. He was knowledgeable, professional and personable. The job was resolved within 30 minutes and payment was easy. I honestly couldn’t fault them as a service provider, but also just generally nice people who come across with care & empathy for their customers. I was so impressed I sent a recommendation on our local what’s app group to all my neighbours. Highly Recommend!
