Plus the company is complicit with genocide by investing in companies enabling it. Time to move.
Absolute Nightmare: 3 Hours, 3 Agents, and Refusal to Refund Admitted Fraud
I have never experienced such a waste of time and poor business practices. I spent nearly three hours (from 1:56 PM to 4:45 PM) trapped in a chat loop just to get unauthorized charges on my company card resolved.
Here is why you should avoid Spotify support:
Admitted Fraud, Refused Refund: Their agents explicitly identified the account using my stolen card info as a complete stranger’s (username "Ra**ro"). Despite confirming this was clearly fraud and unauthorized, they tried to "haggle" with me. First, they offered a $11.99 refund , then $35.97 , and finally a "3-month adjustment". They refused to refund the full $203.83 stolen over 17 months, citing "policy".
The "Agent Roulette": I was passed between three different people (Katarzyna S, Jem A, and Vijaya). Every time I was transferred, I had to wait for them to "read the notes," only for them to ask the exact same questions I had already answered.
Incompetence & Delays: After two hours of back-and-forth, the third agent (Vijaya) joined and immediately went silent for 20 minutes. When they finally replied, they asked for a merchant reference number I had already explained wasn't visible.
They admitted the account was fake, admitted the charges were unauthorized, yet forced me to threaten a bank dispute just to be heard. If you are a business owner, check your statements—Spotify will drain your account and waste your entire afternoon refusing to fix it.
Complete utter dogshit
Complete utter dogshit. Had a grandfathered plan, tried to reverify status on a super old account and now I am being billed extra because that is the "new" billing. Why I'm being billed extra for the same thing with zero updates/better perks? Does Spotify's millions of dollars not cover their broken shuffle or what? You mean to tell me they'll go bankrupt unless they charge me an extra dollar per month? After years and years of loyalty this is how I'm treated? Spotify needs a competitor now because I am never using this ridiculous app ever again. Literally over a decade long user.
Incompetent
I must confess, I’ve encountered few services as utterly incompetent as Spotify’s approach to customer care. I changed countries — a simple, everyday reality for a frequent traveler — and now find myself trapped in an absurdly Kafkaesque loop.
Their solution? Obtain a local credit card. Yes, you read that correctly. Because apparently, if my profile reflects my current country of residence, and my card is issued elsewhere, the very notion of logic is discarded. One wonders: am I now required to maintain a fleet of local credit cards around the globe just to pay for what should be a seamless digital service?
Spotify, let me be crystal clear. The issue is not my card. It is your inability to reconcile a user’s profile with a reality that exists outside your narrow, myopic system. I expected elegance, efficiency, discretion — what I received was amateurism, frustration, and the maddening sensation that I am negotiating with a particularly dim-witted bureaucracy.
If you value your time, your patience, or your dignity, tread carefully. Spotify’s customer service is not merely lacking; it is an affront to reason itself.
I opened up my Spotify app today and…
I opened up my Spotify app today and even tho I never listen to podcasts I had the Andrew tate podcast all over my front page, his ugly no chin having face just looking at me every time I open the app new. Disgusting enough that you'd even have him on your platform but boosting him all over my front page?! And I'm paying you for premium?? F that I'm out!! After nearly 15 years I will find a new music streaming app and change!!
All they want is your bank account!
All they want is your bank account!
Very disappointing experience. Wouldn’t recommend. Keep putting prices up, but lower the quality..
Spot the dog
Your app keeps stopping. Every time. Sort it outtttttt. Leave it ouuuuuuttt!!!
They dont want you, they want your bank account.
I have had premium for more than 10 years. In that time, they keep increasing the cost while removing what you have access to. After 10 YEARS Im now paying DOUBLE what i used to and have no where near as much content available to me. Its ridiculous, and we NEED to stop letting these companies get by with greed.
I love Spotify the family plan is great for value
I disagree I think Spotify is great maybe the price went up but they do a great job update
Jesus Christ..
Jesus Christ... I've been trying to make playlists for work and the work account does not have premium. I am going through songs quickly and litteraly every 5 seconds I get 2, 30 second ads!
I get that you want to push people to get on premiums plans but an ad every 5 seconds???
Spotify is a bit better than SoundCloud
- Spotify is also infested with AI slop, but at least it doesn't shove them under my throat.
- Add to queue adds songs and albums after the currently playing song and not at the end of queue.
- I cannot delete Recently played history.
- I cannot add albums to folders and can't set folder pictures.
- There is no option to sort songs in playlists by Release date.
- I get recommended Joe Roganoid podcasts in my homepage and I cannot hide them.
Terrible customer service and did not uphold free trial offer
I was offered a 4 month free Premium trial. I was given 2 months. So, I contacted customer service via chat. I showed them the email offer via screenshots. I was then switched to another agent who then told me the offer had ended 12/31/25. I referred to the screenshot that did not indicate if and when the offer ended, and since they (the company) did not provide notification, they had to uphold the original offer and link. They then asked for the person who sent me the offer to take a screenshot of the email they sent me, which is beyond ludicrous. Then, the agent wanted the screenshot of the link. After 50 minutes on chat, I asked for the supervisor, and the agent refused I asked a second time for a supervisor and was sent back to the original first agent, who apparently is now the supervisor. She continued to argue with me about the offer, accusing my husband for forwarding it to me until I showed a screenshot of his email that showed "share 4 months of Premium." It would not make sense for Spotify to gift HIM 4 free months. At 1.5 hours, a third agent got on. I then removed myself from the conversation with no resolution of the issue.

Crazy price for how much you pay
Crazy price for how much you pay. I am listening 24/7 and still I can't justify the price. Gonna start pirating music at this point to not pay.
The worst nightmare of this application…
The worst nightmare of this application is that users are treated as numbers. The lack of configuration options means that users are forced to accept changes that a team of kids or a profit-oriented company policy considers “cool.” So it's no surprise that so many people are returning to illegal sources of music. It's usually fatigue from constant coercion and a waste of the user's time.
free trials aren't free
"If you cancel during a zero-priced free trial period, you will lose access to your Premium benefits immediately and your account will switch over to our free service. Zero-priced free trials cannot be reactivated."
yeah nice try guys
This app is unusable without paying $11.99 a month!!
This app is practically unusable without paying $11.99 a month. My premium recently ran out (I was given a gift card) about a week ago and the week without premium has been absolute hell. When I attempt to play a song i’m in the mood for, I get a pop up that says that I cannot play any song I choose, but instead the app chooses to play a song I have never heard of in my life. If I wanted song recommendations I would ask for them!! I often find myself leaving the app and just going to youtube instead to play songs that I actually want to listen to.
spotify is the worst music app yet its…
spotify is the worst music app yet its addicting. so many ads it eats your brain up. also so many issues with wifi and i recently get issues on the web browser where it skips just 5 music ahead of mine. this company is shit
Too pricey nowadays
Good service but not good anymore, Increased the prices reduced functionality on non premium users, its pretty worth it on premium but increasing the price is no good thing
