Overall website building experience on the paid plan was decent. The "AI" portions are overhyped and did not feel helpful. There are also a lot of limitations with design due to complexity of css code needed and lack of support. This is where the AI would be helpful.
Lastly, for the paid plan with a small user base, it would be good to have a basic email send plan, rather than having to upgrade for an additional $20/month. I only have a mailing list of <100 people and I'm not able to even send a monthly blog update email without paying for the marketing package. Feels very anti SMB

Seriously, customer support either isn’t speaking English properly or it’s completely AI doing a nuts job. There’s no basic understanding of simple sentences. Repeat questions multiple times. Still not answer, like talking to a rock! They couldn’t help me access anything, from billing to technical support, and they just kept repeating random questions and sending useless links. This is the worst.
NOTE: If you accidentally delete the site, you can’t get it back. You can’t access anything, can’t do anything, and the subscription/billing situation becomes a complete mess! And they are useless

waste of time, No support, live chat is just Ai and you cant get hold of anyone.

I’ve had a very positive experience using SquareSpace to build my website. The platform is intuitive and easy to follow, even without a strong technical background. I was able to create a clean, professional, and visually beautiful site without feeling overwhelmed.
Although I haven’t explored the AI features yet, the core design and customization tools are straightforward and reliable. Overall, SquareSpace made the process of building my website smooth and enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a simple yet powerful website builder.

Shocking experience, no one to talk to , the 24/7 live chat is useless ! AI provides with information that you never asked for, I asked 3 times to have a chat via email, haven't received a single response after 48 hours after sending 3 email requests ...

I didn't have a lot of website design experience, but after a little trial and error, my website looks how I wanted it!
The main thing I would like to see change is less pressure to use AI for content creation. I realize it's the Big Thing right now, but I wish I could turn off the reminders that I could be using AI to write product descriptions rather than doing it myself, for example.

The website and integration with commerce and seo is largely great, but support is pathetic.
If you don’t want to pay people, at least set up proper AI.

Good site. but would be nice if the ai assistant can just build up the entire site for you in a way that looks professional. Also, The fact that one pays for a subscription then on top of that doesn't even get at least a .com business email
address included is a real upsell issue. If a person like myself is already investing a lot of time and money into a new business, website, domain name ownership, the least Squarespace can do is include a business email, but its all about nickel and timing those who are already struggling.

The WYSIWYG tools are fine but there are huge inconsistencies in spacing across device sizes (it looks fine on a smaller monitor but on a larger one things get weird, etc). Also I understand wanting to be able to upcharge but to have something simple like iconography be an additional charge for importing a CSS library is a bit ridiculous. We are discussing basics of UI design elements here. Also the palette is incredibly limited if I’m looking to establish a few colors for common elements like backgrounds, font, borders, etc. The portfolio options to show work, especially case studies, are limited especially when considering basic web elements (being able to create cards etc). Having AI to help with copy is fine but given there are so many tools out there I don’t think it is positioned strongly when I could have probably used Make and Cursor to generate and host a site that gave me more control than what I’m seeing.

If I had known I couldn’t speak to a live person when I need help with the website or have questions I would have chosen something different than having to talk through a chat or AI. Very disappointing.

You may want to consider adding either a chatbot or AI assistance as sometimes it's hard to figure things out.

In the past it’s been very easy to use squarespace however my recent experience was very frustrating as the default send me into some kind of AI nightmare I couldn’t easily exit and wasted considerable time trying to find my way out of it. You need a LARGE BUTTON that says “I don’t want AI help” so people can turn that annoying stuff off.

What a total joke of a company. Customer service are a joke also. A website building company that do not allow you any freedom on the platform. Context: I signed up, paid, built a website and I was not happy with it (I was learning the platform), built another one, none published. Went to publish the new site and they wanted me to pay again, now this was about 20-30 hrs of learning and building and I can't transfer anything, so I need to rebuild the entire site in the old site or pay them again, I tried chatgpt and gemini for a solution and they even said "this is a known scam" on squarespace, and if someone from squarespace comments this is not true, I have taken screenshots of what the AI said about the company. Spend your money somewhere else. Imagine a website building website that you can not swap around on the platform. Zero platform freedom.

After the answer from Squarespace, still no human agent has helped me. I still have not ge contact with an agent. It is like a boomerang with the same txm from AI as add a new "support case" and the support case comes back to me over again that Squarespace does not use mail any longer. I feel so so so disappointed on this site. Can I get my money back??. It is impossible to get a human support. It is only an AI chat on the homepage help-center and when I tried to get support from a real human I send an email instead to the only email address I could find and got this text back to me "Hi there,
This email address no longer accepts incoming messages. Please note that there will be no response to this email." So I am back to the beginning again. I have tried to get help in over 10 days now. This site is so so so bad and hard to get help from a real human. It would be easy to find the present email address when a customer use the "HELP BUTTON" not like it is now. I feel I need to be a detective in searching for some way to get help. Why do such a complicated way on a website for beginners. I have payed for the business account. But I am not pleased at all it is not worth 1 star more like minus 1 star.

easy to make a good looking website and to sell from. Sometimes though finding answers to questions could be easier. Having a human to talk to instead of a chat bot or AI would be nice.

I find I have to use AI to figure out how to do some things. The Help function is kind of confusing.

Overall good, Only issues occurred when trying to access the chat line, which only allowed me the AI answers, which were superly NOT helpful.

I thought by choosing Squarespace instead of Etsy for my website, I would have a better exposure on google search. Only seen if my website address is typed in, my product keywords (SEO) don't bring shoppers to my site.
Website set up is pretty user friendly, with help pages to answer questions. Customer service is quit to reply. I apricate a real persons help, instead of an AI response. Love the spell check

Squarespace offers a solid and comprehensive platform, and both versions 7.0 and 7.1 remain essential for delivering high-quality services to clients. Each version has unique strengths that continue to be relevant in real-world projects, so it’s important that Squarespace 7.0 never becomes obsolete.
Equally important is the value of human support. While AI tools are helpful, real human assistance is crucial when unexpected or complex issues arise. Having access to knowledgeable support makes a real difference in resolving problems efficiently and maintaining trust in the platform.
Overall, Squarespace’s features, flexibility, and ongoing support are key reasons it remains a reliable choice for professionals and their clients.
Thank you for being part of the Squarespace community.

I love the AI experience, I had last night but I would like to be able to add more information into my advertisements for Facebook. As a small auction business there are certain Terms + Conditions that customers have to be aware of before they place bids and these need to be up front + central etc.
