Overall is okay but difficult to navigate and locate information. Not always the easiest to modify/create/update. Also, saw that you had a new service that uses AI to create and/or update a website; however, upon inquiring, I was advised that I would have to cancel everything - site, domain name, etc and then repurchase/reapply. That is not feasible to risk our information that way.

The email crew is FABULOUS!! ALL OF THEM!!
HUMANS ARE AMAZING!!
The AI CHAT- the opposite of Fabulous
The worst!!
Cutting corners & saving $$
I honestly was looking at new option before I used email! I HAVE USED THE CHAT LOTS OVER THE YEARS- I can’t even get through via chat anymore- sad!! The AI locks up!!
SOOO SAD!!! BUT YAY FOR PEOPLE!!

It was impossible to get any quick help on the site. In order to build my website the way I wanted it, I relied on Google AI to answer all my questions. Without Google, I never could have built a website on Squarespace. Also, Squarespace templates are too restrictive for a creative person who already has a vision and wants a truly personalized site.

On the plus side, Squarespace has been learnable by me, a complete novice to web-building. It's even fun! And no need to learn coding, unless you want to get really fancy and go outside of its set parameters.
On the minus side, their primary support tool is an AI chat portal that from my experience is pretty useless. If you need support beyond that then you can email (you have to try chat first) and when I ended up emailing a critical question I never received a reply. There is no phone support option.
You can also pose questions on their user forum and I've found that to somewhat helpful. But honestly, the best answers I've gotten have been from Google AI. I'd give Squarespace five stars if they had effective user support.

I really like Squarespace’s design sense and its intuitive system for building sites. It works for me in a way that no other has.
The e-commerce is not perfect, but it works and I managed to figure it out myself (with the help of a really smart AI system) which is great!

The Squarespace interface is generally good but it is technical and it takes time for getting used to. the marketing of the AI integration of the Squarespace platform is a little misleading. The AI only really creates text for the user and if there is other AI integration it’s behind the scenes and the user is unaware of it. Unlike some other platforms where the user just instructs the platform the type of website they want to build and the platform buils the site for them on Autopilot. platforms that come to mind are WIX and BASE 24. Iif Squarespace could be nudged in that direction I think it would go well for the company but other than that I’m not going to be changing my platform any time soon. I’ve set it up with Squarespace. the templates are elegant and well suited to my business and despite a little clunkiness they are fairly easy to use. So I’m a happy customer, thank you. 🙏

I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews and I can’t yet comment on the challenges with unwanted billing (which I actually experienced with Wix, which is why I have migrated to Squarespace) but I have extensively used the editor and have found it really great! The templates are beautiful, there’s helpful tutorials on how to use the platform and although its AI features are somewhat limited for now (e.g. you cannot instruct the AI to build a website from scratch based on your prompts), it does offer a great starting point, which is easy to edit. I love the flexibility and the aesthetically appealing designs.

This is the worst company to deal with. Pretty sure it's completely run by AI and no real people work there. Every time they communicate with you it's from a no-reply email address so you can't even respond. Many issues and questions along the way but never any direction or answers. Fairly simple to use the product and set up a website but any support outside of that is non-existent. Customer service is horrible.

Trying to create a website and it is SO SLOW that it is next to IMPOSSIBLE to create. The entire thing is so unintuitive and confusing that its pointless in its entirety. Can't edit anything properly as all templates are restricted in what they offer and all guides and information teaching you to navigate the site is outdated since theyve updated their site to primarily run on AI.

I can't even log in!
I've gotten multiple errors. It won't send me a code or link to reset my password. I tried using the AI chat and it didn't help. I tried sending an email (prompted by the email chat) to customer service and got an error. I asked what is the phone number for customer service and it said they don't do phone customer service. I was trying to log in to update my billing information. Now I'll be logging in to transfer my domain to a new company.
Buyer Beware...
1. They claim to service healthcare providers, but their sites are NOT HIPAA compliant!
2. You try to contact them and if you're lucky to get past the lame AI chatbot to speak to a live person, they don't even know what HIPAA is!
3. They are set up for companies selling PRODUCTS, not offering services. If you list healthcare services like populations served or conditions treated, they set the page up like you're selling a product, including price and quantity fields that you can't delete.
4. Once you select a template, you can NEVER change it in version 7.1. Instead, they direct you to some lame and confusing page on how to supposedly do a major revision of your existing template. Interestingly, in the earlier version 7.0, you COULD make a template switch...I guess they felt they weren't ripping off their customers enough (see #4, below).
5. If you want a new template, you have to take out a whole new subscription and pay for it up-front. I just ate $36 falling for this scam.
6. They ask you at the end of your "Support" chat, how they can improve things. My answer: go out of business!
SquareSpace is clearly not a favorite and the problems everyone else has noted concur with my experience. Its whole freakin world is AI, totally unresponsive and difficult to reach support, how they hold customers hostage with their processes and the complete inabiliyt to transfer a website elsewhere, their sudden exorbitant prices charged to my card didn't help. Horrible Company.
SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM
I can’t believe how bad Squarespace’s login and support system is. I lost access to my account, requested multiple password resets — and guess what? No email ever arrived. Yet they managed to send me a “support confirmation” instantly. How ironic!
Their so-called “AI assistant” is completely useless, just a robot looping the same phrases while you’re stuck outside your own account. You pay for a service and can’t even log in to manage your own domain.
If you value your time and sanity, stay away from Squarespace. They make something as simple as resetting a password feel like solving a NASA-level problem. Absolutely ridiculous experience for a company that pretends to be “premium.”
Like dealing with what it is...a hall of mirrors of robots. Honestly, basic websites and an impenetrable smorgasbord of AI; no one (or thing) is able to tell you what each payment is for (there are lots), or how to request a refund and there is no ability to cancel a card...only replace its details with another. Only sign up if you love wasting hours going round and round and round. Get a local guy or gal to do your site. My mistake.
These guys are terrible. I was forced to be a Squarespace user because Google sold the domain business to them. It's a mess. And there is little to no support. There is a dumb AI chatbot that can't help with anything and there is a very slow e-mail support that does not react. Avoid Squarspace at all costs.
There is no support. Live chat is ‘always’ unavailable due to high volume, emails responses are useless as they only reply with even more useless links you have already tried, or they say it’s out of scope (for very simple things). There is no phone support. It takes 7-10 business days to even get a response from a human sometimes and don’t expect any solution…there is NO phone support or virtual live support.
Horrible! The entire user admin side is riddled with error messages when you try to manage your domain. Ex. I tried to transfer my domain to Cloudflare by unlocking the domain and disabling DNSSEC, but Squarespace kept giving me a "try again later" error message. A lot of unable to process request and try again later errors. Just confirm my transfer. Expedite it. Stop trying to block me from moving my domain elsewhere! My site will be down for a long time since this domain transfer to Cloudflare is taking forever (a week), AND support is non-existent if you call AI Chatbot or long technical documentation support. Noob
Squarespace's monthly rate has increased to $26.65, doubling in price over the last five years. The company's customer support is supposed to be 24/7, but is only available via chat (some) on weekdays, and e-mail support during the weekend is auto-generated AI responses. The website builder is clunky at times, and in no way justifies paying this amount for ultimately just server space and a custom URL.
Squarespace does remarkably little for its customers while still charging by far the highest in the market. Since last year, it is now an authorized reseller of Google Workspace plans, but does not allow users to choose the 'Starter' plan, the cheapest tier, which would cover the majority of needs (i.e email, integrated drive). Altogether, I am paying over $40 a month for a static website and custom email address from Squarespace, which is why I will be ending my subscription. This company charges ridiculous prices for a product that is no better, if not worse, than other options. AVOID.
Obscenely terrible service. You absolutely can not speak to a human and the ai chat bot doesn't have a clue what is going on.
I have filled out many support cases but I have never once received a reply or any communication of any kind from a human.
But when you cancel your subscription they are immediate in harassing you to subscribe again.
All they want is money but with no contact with you.
If you write an email the customer service is beyond excellent. I had to cancel an order. A real person answered. We had a back and forth because I just didn’t want to bother figuring out the link to cancel so she did it for me.
Most companies that use AI will answer emails with a human. Breeze Airways doesn’t even have a phone number but my email got the result I wanted.
