Bunch of crooks
Bunch of crooks. Cannot be relied upon for fairness and impartiality. They will side with solicitors regardless of the evidence against them.
Complete waste of time, energy and effort to expect a fair and independent outcome to their investigations.
If I could give no stars I would as they are not deserving.
This is a corrupt organisation.
This is a corrupt organisation.
I dealt with them twice last year. Two separate cases, two separate, so called, ‘investigators’. In each case I presented all evidence to back up my claims. Both times, I was told that they had spoken to the firms who had denied the allegations and so the case would be closed. I wrote back with the definition of ‘investigation’. If you are mugged in broad daylight and it’s caught on camera and the mugger tells the court it wasn’t them, does a judge say, ‘OK, case dismissed’?! This is exactly what this so called ‘organisation’, is doing. The fact that they call this ‘investigating’ is beyond a joke. This happened twice!!!!
One of the firms is a debt collecting firm of solicitors, who are in breach of SRA principles and FCA, rules on debt collection. They are bullies who post fake reviews, act illegally on behalf of clients and who I believe are driving good people to suicide, as they collect debts for what are essentially, business loan sharks. The other firm happily exercised wrongful forfeiture and lied about obtaining a court order. They also continued with the forfeiture after I sent them evidence to prove it was wrongful/illegal. They knowingly went ahead with it.
This organisation is an enabling force for evil. They are allowing wrongdoers to flourish in the legal profession, making them confident that their wrongdoing will go unpunished. This is like acid, further corroding the broken legal system and the very idea of Justice. They are positively encouraging the growth of bad practice, bad faith, lies and deception and are giving solicitors free reign. They are not impartial. They should be de-funded and dismantled and something truly impartial, should be created instead.

SRA CEO WE ARE SUBMITTING HIGH COURT
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) are an independent regulatory body and do not have a regulator.
Solicitors Regulation Authority Limited (SRA) is a private company limited by guarantee. The SRA is the regulator of solicitors in England and Wales.
SRA has linked solicitors to an indemnity insurance , and the same is connected to their annual income
In fact most solicitors in the uk , they turned to MEDIATOR .
NON of them can take big banners to court .
This is a totally autocratic , no different than Russia and North Korea .
We are submitting court papers , as they created employment , distributing licenses just for making money , and they protect corrupt solicitors that don’t expect the letters of law
A glance who regulate and oversee solicitors in the US and In France , you will be shocked to see , that in the uk , SRA TO make it profitable , use foreign nationals o deal with complaints
SRA IS A CRIMINAL INSTITUTION
WE HAVE A FULL FILE FOR EUROPEAN COMMISSION TO FULLY DENOUNCE THEM

Reported a solicitor as they sent me a bill via e-mail, addressed "dear sirs" concerned about its legitimacy I asked the company for a break down of the bill and called them. The paralegal was away, conveniently did not contact me until the 12 days has elapsed for me to pay the monies owed, she also did not tell me that it triggered another £900 plus fee. I could have taken loosing, but they where patronizing enough to say that this wasn`t taking advantage. While I can accept I could have handled the matter better, the response reeked of being in cahoots with the companies who are members.
A pointless and toothless organisation
A pointless and toothless organisation. The SRA are as complicit as their shifty members which unfortunately there are many. Greed rules the roost and the SRA will seek to protect that. This is my honest opinion of my personal experience of this poor organisation.
Incompetent and contradictory
I reported a solicitor who was clerk of a Police and Crime Panel for failing to record a complaint. The first investigator, confused the Police and Crime Panel and Police and Crime Commissioner and said "Her actions in relation to your complaint are within policies set down by the council and PCC." mistaking the fact that the Police and Crime Panel is separate from the other two.
After I complained, the complaint handler in a phone call, even googled and found the correct policy (he was probably expecting it to show I had complained to the wrong person) but doubled down when he found that I had followed the correct policy. He later refused to accept that investigation officer had erred, ignored most of my detailed points sent by email which he invited me to send, and did not follow up his offer of another phone call.
In the final email, he contradicted the initial findings by saying by saying "That she may or may not have applied her organisations own Rules and Procedures is not for the SRA to determine." completely contradicting what the first investigation.
It is worrying that the SRA apparently do not care if solicitors do not follow legislation or the policy of the public bodies which they chair.
I wonder if there is an internal policy to simply reject a certain percentage of complaints with invented reasons. They would, of course, never admit to targets or have official ones but I wonder if those with integrity get reprimanded for accepting too many complaints.
Why are the reviews removed ?
Why are the reviews removed ?
My mother died in 2019.
She had changed her will 3 times in 20 weeks then passed away 20 weeks after the last will was signed.
The lawyer involved, once questioning started filled in the lark and negus statement then retired and went to France.
My two disabled sons had been disinherited from a legal trust that had stood for 10 years in their name and the total estate was left to a church.
The total amount of money was around £345,000
Also around £40,000 in cash was taken on the night my mother died from the house someone had the keys.
We complained to the SRA that the property had not been properly secured or locked down
The lawyer admitted to taking cash gifts from the client of up to £100.
The medical test of sound mind and body was not carried out until the last will change was taken.
The SRA refused to carry out a proper professional investigation and upheld all the questions in the lawyers favour who wrote out the wills.
Who is having our posts removed and why?
Failure by the SRA to help a domestic abuse victim
We presented 20 items in support of our complaint against a Legal Aid Solicitor based on the information on the SRA website and basically they have ignored or possibly didn’t even read it.
SRA failing public abysmally
My wife’s family have been waiting over 6 months for her late mother’s Will following the SRAs Intervention when they closed down the Solicitors Practice holding the Will.
The SRA closed down the failing Practice over 7 months ago and yet despite repeated requests for an update the SRA have singularly failed to offer ANY update and critically ANY indication of expected timescale.
Requesting the matter be escalated within the SRA and a request to engage the Intermediary as per their own stated procedures has been completely ignored.
Of course without the Will probate cannot be organised and therefore the estate Is incurring escalating costs which are completely avoidable if the SRA where to actually do something
Frankly they are a completely unprofessional and seemingly pointless organisation.
Failure to carry out my instructions
Failure to carry out my instructions, mishandling of my complaint against a solicitor firm, overall poor service. After I then complained about the SRA, they denied any wrongdoing despite not even carrying out a large part of the investigation I requested. I went through the internal stage process of complaint and have now reported the Solicitors Regulation Authority to an external independent reviewer (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution).
It is deeply concerning and…
It is deeply concerning and disheartening to observe that a significant number of solicitors deliberately avoid providing legal services to individuals with disabling mental health conditions, even when these individuals possess normal intelligence. This deplorable trend can be attributed to the persistent stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health, coupled with the unjust perception that individuals with such conditions are not to be taken seriously. Consequently, it is alarmingly common for those with mental health conditions or disabilities to be subjected to notably substandard legal services from solicitors. These individuals, who are among the most vulnerable clients in need of support, become deliberate targets of grossly inadequate legal representation. Such substandard services perpetuate a cycle of exploitation, neglect, and a denial of justice for those with mental health conditions or disabilities.
Terrible organisation which by its own admission can't join the dots
The SRA says, as the largest regulator of legal services in England and Wales, that its primary purpose is to protect the general public from harm and uphold the rule of law but it isn't doing either. Absolutely useless organisation which is unable to process information, or "join the dots". It is unable to follow process or policy. Loathed by lay people and professionals alike for good reason. It doesn't deserve one star and doesn't deserve the trust and confidence of the general public. Nightmare organisation, best avoided.
Should be called the Corrupt Solicitors…
Should be called the Corrupt Solicitors Protection Authority, not fit for purpose, low grade inept officers.
Appalling organisation who always takes…
Appalling organisation who always takes the side of the solicitor firm . They are a waste of time . They will always find against you if you are to report a complaint against a firm
I thought honestly thst the SRA would…
I thought honestly thst the SRA would be able to be trustworthy..after all look who they are supposed to be ..instead they caused me immense trouble by going to the solicitors thst I has used in a magistrates court case that I a seventy year old lone widow woman had been forced to go through because of the defamatory falsehoods of two very elderly men who I had helped one my late husbands friend and architectural work colleague whose son and daughter made malicious defamatory falsehoods to the police about me and the other an elderly man who I was as a bereavement counsellor having done some telephone freebie counsellor for some years before...I was actually arrested due to these lies to the police and other bodies and put into custody and after a two and a half years court case charged although completely innocent...Whilst serving my sentence I went to the SRA to ask them to try to get my case paperwork back from.one of the solicitors I had used who had refused to return it even my personal medical private records and etc...I mentioned that I had used four solicitors from different companies for the case because I lacked faith in the very first one u had contacted whilst in custody and the SRA contacted all four so none of them would work for me and it insights them to contact the CPS and for me to be called back to court for a far worse scenario. They like all ombudsman are there simply to placate the public to make them believe that something is being seen to be done when it is not...they turned all defence solicitors against me when I needed one and couldn't give a care when I rang them to tell them seeming like very young inexperienced call centre people working from home to me Terrible experience t
Truly ruined my remaining years of existence.
SRA cannot be trusted
Do not trust law firms just because they are SRA regulated - that is just a membership firms buy 'to look good'. The truth is the SRA have no control whatsoever and no backbone. It has been my first hand experience that two firms dealing with my case, one being very high profile (on media - tv channels, etc) were struck off by the SRA overnight after many years of practice and a solid reputation. My understanding is that law firms do what they please and as soon as they are caught or there are signs of getting caught soon, the firm is either struck off or voluntarily closes. The SRA, obviously, does all sorts of paperwork and exhibits pretence of sorts, but they don't exactly care. Those solicitors are allowed to ignore SRA's letters; they will not respond and yet easily go ahead and register a new firm, and the cycle repeats. I should have become a lawyer in the U.K. ha ha - this is definitely a more laidback regulatory body to deal with. At the end of the day, any ombudsman, etc you complain to, including the SRA itself, will claim that the SRA is not a government body and the onus is on you to find an appropriate advisor, and basically you're screwed. So by all means, do not trust a firm just because they have an SRA license number. Half of the times, advisors sitting at these firms on a daily basis are not solicitors and the SRA is totally clueless until an investigation opened. At the end of the day, everyone raises their hands and walks away. You are the only one suffering the consequences. Additionally, SRA does not acknowledge signature forgeries by solicitors either which are a criminal offence worldwide. They downplay this matter as a 'disparity' rather than a forgery and claim that this is not something they deal with. Basically, your lawyer will get away with forging your signature too. Additionally, they take years for a simple investigation contrary to their 3 months timeframe published (9 months if complex, they claim). Be careful & good luck! :)
Exam booking for SQE1 experience is…
Exam booking for SQE1 experience is just awful. Terrifying, they charge like for gold and give nothing back.
Not fit for purpose
Zero stars would be more applicable. Extremely strong cases against 2 solicitors firms - one appeared to be complicit in criminal activity. Got rude, childish responses back, bearing no relation to the complaints. Refused to look at anything. Asked for mountains of material and then didn't read it properly. Independant Reviewer supported them all the way.
Not fit for purpose in my opinion, would not waste time and effort contacting them, just accept that Solicitors are free to do exactly what they want whether within the law or not.....
Toothless Tiger
Like many modern "regulators" the SRA are nothing more than a "toothless tiger" and nothing like what they used to be where solicitors genuinely feared their intervention. We reported a firm of solicitors that were clearly in breach of a number of rules in their letter-before-action but the grandly-titled "investigation officer" decided that was fine and didn't fully consider any our points at all, which were all backed-up by fact but they weren't interested.
