Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 24 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall with these products. Consumers frequently encounter major durability issues, such as tool bodies cracking under light pressure, blades going blunt immediately after first use, and hardware components failing completely after minimal wear. People also express deep frustration regarding incompatible battery designs, missing features, and replacement parts that simply do not match previous models. Some reviewers were satisfied with specific items, noting that certain tool kits and hedge trimmers perform very well during projects. Others appreciated the robust design, solid value, and long-lasting history of using these brand products over the years.

Not only do they use Reevoo for their websites review system, with Reevoo basically being a complete scam with no appeals system if reviews get removed, but many of their products seem to have design flaws, that people comment on in their reviews, and the company never replies to them or fixes the issues. Their TP profile not being claimed and these other complaints being ignored just shows the type of company they are - one to avoid.

Fatmax SXGT6362E bypass loppers

These look good in the adverts and I liked the very long handles too so I bought a pair. On the first use (½" green conifer branches) the cutting blade twisted across the lower hooked blade. I didn't know, applied pressure and when the handles didn't move I realised something wasn't right. The cutting blade edge is now folded over, there is a corresponding nick in the lower hooked blade and they don't cut completely through the branches. They are unbelievably flimsy, I can actually twist the open blades enough with a thumb and forefinger that they start to overlap each other. There is flex in the handles too. Not fit for purpose and a waste of my time and money - sorry but I couldn't in all honesty recommend these.

Never Stanley ever again.

I have a rarely used but well maintained stanley generator in need of repair. I've contacted Stanley by phone and been given contact details for TPE (supplier of the generator to Stanley). The phone number I was given is disconnected. The number I was given is the correct number listed on their website. I used the contact form on their website to contact them and have not had a response, it has been weeks. I called Stanley customer service again (sounded like a call centre in asia) with my issue and been told that it's a licensed product so there is nothing further they can do to help me and it's just my bad luck. Asked to speak to a manager or be contacted back with any kind of support and was told that there was nothing they could do and that i would not hear from anybody. Retail on the generator is $2500. Never Stanley ever again.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Thought I’d try the fat max range on the circular saw as it came with a free battery. Bought and registered everything on website - 3 months later still no free battery even though nearly 20 days ago they agreed to honor the battery still nothing received. Was hanging on to buy their angle grinder (to use my free battery with it) but such an absolute farce trying to get them to give me any updated information on when my promised battery will arrive I’ll go back to using previous brands.
Shocking customer service from a company I thought had a good reputation in the tool trade.
Shameful, really annoyed to be messed about so much. Spend your hard on cash on a brand that looks after you and wants repeat business.

Pressure washer now useless because the end of the hose has rusted...2 years old....Now if I had known to register online, it would have 3 years warranty...but nothing on the receipt or in the box so how would I know....??? Poor plating on the push connector caused the problem, extortionate spares cost now renders pressure washer useless....won't buy Stanley again..or Dewalt

STANLEY CUSTOMER SERVICE....No service at all.

I bought Stanley tools over £100! Tried to apply for the 3yr warranty but was unable to register. I called the company to be told probably because i was using my phone to log on. I do not own a Laptop ...why do companies assume everyone owns a laptop, tablet or any other device!!! Why should I be penalised from having extra 2 yr warranty because I do not own a laptop. Although the lady I spoke to was pleasant, her and the supervisor were unable to register my items. She would not give information out of manger for me to forward my issue, but gave me email of ......wait for it ......her supervisor!!what good is that when she's spoken to him and he said ask a family member....what kind of reply is that????? Absolutely no help at all .....the items will be going back and I want be buying STANLEY again......would not recommend if you do not own a device other than your phone!!
A disappointed consumer.....well not a consumer as it being returned 🙄

So very disappointed

Earlier this month I purchased a Stanley Fatmax 46cm cordless lawnmower online. I currently have Stanley tools, including a cordless drill and a pressure washer, so was expecting goods of good quality to arrive. The mower came well packed and looked great. After following the simple instructions, charging the batteries and fitting them correctly (clicked into place), the mower failed to start. I tried again and again refitting the batteries, putting the supplied key in, but this machine was clearly never going to run. I know these things come from China, but surely someone, somewhere is meant to test them before dispatch. Repacking was difficult but back it went and I have just been refunded. I wish now I had read Trustpilot reviews before ordering. Stanley, you have just lost a customer.
Correction, it was a 51cm mower.

Feeling cheated!

I am totally disappointed with the Stanley Tools! Here's my story; I bought a Stanley Fatmax Strimmer on July 12 2021. The product was advertised as a special that if I paid £119.00 and it is registered within a certain time frame that I would receive a free additional battery. Well the moment I got home I registered on the Stanley Site and the tried to register my product. This was not possible as the product did not have a date of manufacture on it. I took the time to email stanley support about the problem and was issued with a reference suport number. Only weeks later did I get a reply with some arbitrary code to log in by which time the supposed special had expired! this meant No Free Battery!! As if this was not enough I cannot buy a string cartridge for it??? How can I use this product without a string???
I am totally disgruntled and will think twice about ever buying another Stanley tool, even for my business!!

I bought a Stanley Essential Rolling…

I bought a Stanley Essential Rolling Workshop 3 in 1 (STST18631) about 2 years ago. Around the end of the first year of use both PLASTIC latches of the middle section (yellow carrier) broke and therefore the 3 in 1 workshop was useless in its original configuration. I called Stanley's warranty section today and told them of the problem. The operator was very Profesional and concerned. In a span of 5 to 10 minutes the operator informed me that I would be receiving a brand new workshop in its entirety as they don't replace the parts. Wow. What a way to stand behind their product! Thank you Stanley. I knew there was a reason I but so many of your products. On another note, this is the first time I've ever had a problem with a Stanley product and I have a lot of them. Buy with confidence that a great company is behind their products. Again thank you Stanley!

Avoid

I have just bought a Stanley cordless lawnmower and am going to return it. Firstly it is not really powerful enough for grass in England.Secondly the grass collection box is too small and requires frequent emptying, Thirdly the mechanism for raising and lowering the cutting height is extremely difficult to operate and I fear the plastic lever will break. Fourthly Stanley are impossible to get hold of. They offer a 3 year guarantee if you register but require so much information, some of which you cannot supply so you have to give up and finally they identify only one repair agent in the UK who when I called them told me they do not repair Stanley lawnmowers! Avoid at all costs.

WOW STANLEY TOOLS HAS A REAL BAD NAME.

WOW, so many bad reviews for the once famous STANLEY TOOL COMPANY. I was about to purchase a Stanley Fatmax V20 18v Strimmer from Toolstation & claim the free battery, but so many dissatisfied customer reviews. So now I'll be looking at other manufacturers tools.

Farewell Stanley!

Unfortunately, Stanley is no longer as good as it once was. Purchased a plane Stanley STANLEY 1-12-020 on amazon, after 3 returns of the same plane, because they were full of defects, some insurmountable (crooked mouth at sight) from a hobbyist, I call stanley to ask for a solution and to understand where to buy a plane straight and they answer me ..
"Nothing we can't help you, but it's better for you to make the return"
Well so;) we buy other products.

I bought a set of Stanley tools

I bought a set of Stanley tools. Two ratchets were broken. Called them up. Told me they would replace it. Waited two months. No Ratchet came. Called back agin. Told me they were on the way. Waited two more months. No ratchet. Called agin today. Told me they never had any and they were all on back order. Wow. DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM STANLEY TOOLS. At least master craft sticks to their word. If it breaks take it back. And no issue in store replacement. And they do. Stanley tools should be put out of business. I’m gonna screen shoot all the neg response and post it all over the web. They are useless turbin heads.

One of many apparently who purchased a Stanley FatMax Gardenhose which completely fell apart. Sent from one company to another for refund/replacement with absolutely no satisfaction....life is too short to spend hours on hold for a defective garden hose. They advertise STANLEY, their name STANLEY is all over the product but they won't acknowledge any defects and simply pass you on to their manufacturer. DO NOT BUT STANLEY !!!
