Airport is too hot, queues very long. elderly people cannot sit while in these queues. We also spent half an hour standing in a bus for plane drop off, no sits either and no point paying for priorit... See more

I was treated in an inhumane way by a very rude woman who was part of the staff. They made me pay because my bag was too big and that’s ok, my fault, but she treated me so bad I had a breakdown in front of everyone. unacceptable
Having written to the CEO of MAG…
Having written to the CEO of MAG (Manchester Airport Group) who run Stansted airport. The CEO was too above me to reply to me personally and got a manager futher down the line assistant manager to email me ,. Once again there has been a big crash yesterday In Takeley regarding the parking which Stansted Airport CEO tells me it is illegal parking by fake park and ride companies which we all know is nonsense. It is because of the sky high prices Stansted chooses to charge people to park to go on holiday so they park in the surrounding villages ie Takeley main road ,. I got onto them after the latest crash and basically got alot of drivell. When are Stansted airport going to liase with the essex highways and get these red lines put in along the road in our village they have been promising for 2 years now.?? Again yesterday a serious crash with 4 cars involved going around parked cars on the main road, I have sent the email regarding the crash to the CEO which has been ignored this time around. Someone is going to get seriously hurt also the disrespect by Stansted airport regarding our village is Unacceptable . Get together MAG Stansted Airport and sort this out before some dies ,,,, PS why is MAG stansted airport not on trustpilot to complain directly? I just hope there isn't a death oon because I have wrote and the reply was frankly rubbish. I am keeping the emails for the newspaper should any futher incident happen.Signed A concerned villager who has to live this parking daily,
Abslolutely appalling!
Abslolutely appalling!! You can't transfer from one flight another without first leaving the airport through customs just to start all over again through securety. Idiocracy at its finest!

On 12 February at around 10:00 AM I bought a couple of chocolate boxes, water, and a Lacoste perfume from Stansted Airport. At the main checkout desk, the cashier asked whether I needed everything in a bag, and I understood that all my purchased items would be placed inside it.
After leaving the store, I went to Gate 48 for my flight. While on the plane, I opened the bag and was surprised to discover that the Lacoste perfume was not inside, even though I had paid for it.
Absolutely disgraceful
Unfortunately
Unfortunately, my experience at this airport was disappointing. The behavior of the security staff came across as rude and dismissive, which made the process stressful and uncomfortable. I hope improvements are made, but at this time, I would suggest choosing another airport if possible.

Standing in a queue for security now for 40 mins. Only 4 out of 11 lines open. Terrible service.
I like this Airport
I like this Airport, it is much more organised than LHR. Easy to commute from London.

Sadly I have to use airport all the time. The security are incredibly rude to a point where I challenged it this morning. Disgusting behaviour from staff that seriously needs addressing. Who exactly do you think you are talking to paying customers that way. Managers are clearly doing a useless job at managing their staff. Do better!!!
Security & disabled passenger
We arrived on time to allow for booking in at assisted passage and security.
My wife’s mobility scooter stopped working at security so I had to disengage the motor and push it through the security scanner with her on it and then be sent back to be physically searched and return to the conveyor scanner, all of this while trying to get two hand luggage with medication and necessary scooter equipment through the scanner, the security staff where the worst I have ever encountered and not the slightest bit interested in the problems I was having.
I managed to get a scooter working after getting through security but nobody came to see if we needed any help.
Unhelpful and dismissive
In future we will arrive three hours before as we had to be rushed through for boarding on this occasion.
Over commercial airport revamped assusted security. No chairs where disabled people can put their shoes back on. Lovely security staff. Management greed.
Over commercial airport. This time they have revamped assisted security. No chairs. 80 year olds trying to put their shoes back on. It's degrading to have to watch.
Shocking experience at Escape Lounge - Stansted Airport.
This time around we decided to try the Escape Lounge in London Stansted Airport. I find it quite astonishing that an airport of this size only has ONE airport lounge!! The Escape Lounge. We arrived at 4.30am in the morning and had already purchased our tickets via DragonPass expecting to be admitted into the airport lounge upon arrival! there was a qiue of around 30 people in a line. We were then told that people who had booked with an appointment were being admitted first. Now this would be obvious, and although it was disappointing, we waited to see how long it would take to get in. 30 minutes later, we arrived at the front of the queue at the desk. We were then told we must give a name, contact information, such as email and UK telephone number. We would then get an email or SMS to tell us when we could enter the lounge! It wasnt worth it considering we would be in the lounge with little time to spare. Other Airports such as Gatwick Airport, Heathrow Airport and Bristol airport have mutliple lounges! I swiftly asked for a refund, and will not be using the Escape lounge again! Stansted Airport need to revamp their WHOLE lounge experience at their airport! Other airports far outshine their experience!
Drop off scam
Why are you allowing a rogue company run a parking scam? We drop people off for £7 which is ridiculous and then we have a day to pay which in my case I was late and have a £100 fine. This is NUTS. I refuse to fly from or have anything to do with this airport again. Sooner go to Heathrow or Luton.
Awful staff experience
Awful staff experience whose priority was rushing us through their services as quickly as possible with little patience or regard to wellbeing.
Absolutely shambles
Absolutely shambles. You have to get there 3 hours before a flight to Edinburgh due to staff shortages. On the way back we were kept on the plane for 25 minutes as no steps were there and then sent through a wet car park after collecting our suitcase into the train station and out. You want to be a top airport try getting your act together as you are representing our country. We are pensioners and my wife is partially blind so it was not a nice experience.
Great assistance service for elderly.
My mother (she's 70+) had special assistance service to and from stansted.
It deserve a review the good service given (ain't the same in my own city or in Manchester), questions about my mom are been requested for a better service, even if not talking my native language, the girl driving my mom around was very kind to speak to my mom in her own language as all the staff did. All very kind and a very fast service.
Great service.
Travel assistance.
Travel assistance.
I used travel assistance at Standstead for the first time, flying out on 12th December. 2025
I was already anxious due to train delays, but I was quickly put at ease and well looked after. The lady looking after me was wonderful, kind and professional. She assisted me with booking in my suitcase and getting me through customs and security. Time was against us, and security seemed to be working at a snails pace, My assistant was so helpful and organised and we got through in an orderly manner, even managing to locate lemsip meditation on route to my gate, and fill up my water bottle for me.
I think the assistant crew are the unsung heroes and don’t get enough recognition.
My deepest gratitude to the lady that looked after me and the other team members.
Terrible airport
Terrible airport! Too small for the amount of travellers! Took nearly 2hrs to get through security.
Overpriced items, a bottle of water £3.70!
Probably the worst airport I've ever been to
To say that Stansted Airport is poorly designed would be too kind. Here is a list of the top 5 things that need improving:
1. The departure lounge is poorly layed out and does not have enough seats for the volume of passengers. It is just an awful experience to have to wander around with a tired family waiting for a seat or two to become available. Please, just build a second level in the departure lounge, so that passengers have space!
2. The corridors are too narrow. I'm not worried about the distance to the gate, but make the corridors wider so that passengers aren't tripping over each other while rushing to catch plane.
3. Many areas have worn-out carpets covered in used chewing gum. Who puts carpets in an airport?! With millions of passengers passing through every year, put some proper flooring down that is not going to look terrible after two weeks.
4. The ventilation system clearly is insufficient. Even with it being 15-20 meters to the ceiling, the building was stuffy and the air stale.
5. Not enough toilet facilities for the volume of passengers and they are worn out and disgusting.
The only positive thing is that the staff were, in general, nice.
If anyone from Stansted wishes to contact me about ideas for improvement, please do – I would love to help make it a better experience for travellers.
Staff hate there jobs and they take it out on the customers
Where do I start , rude miserable staff the whole way from check in to taking off. Constant rolling of eyes , muttering under their breath to other colleagues and just plain rude in the way they spoke to customers.
Security was ridiculous, I understand it's a loud and busy environment so staff need to speak clearly and loudly to be heard but these people where on the line of rude. If you don't move within the same second they shout at you again, absolutely no respect in there way there talking. I talk to a dog nicer than they talk to customers.
My hand luggage got pulled and waited 20 min in line to be seen to get swabbed etc. But only to find it just didn't scan properly so they had to put it through again. Why they couldn't do that straight away instead of making us wait for 20 min , I have no idea. This and Stansted getting busier than ever where you cant even find a seat to sit down , having to avoid tripping over people sitting on the floor through out departures. Evening sitting outside the restaurants on the floor. Stansted is an Absolute joke.
Never again
Never again, what a horrible airport. First time and last time. Shouting and condescending staff. No room to move of sit. Overcrowded is an understatement!!!
