Baristas are welcoming, messages written on every cup, wonderful space to study, connect with others, and drink your favorite beverage! Starbucks is willing to adjust to your liking in all!!

Serious hygiene issue and extremely poor customer service

On September 27, 2025, I purchased two products from the Starbucks store at Frankfurt Zeil in Germany. While my products were being packed, a person who had been doing cleaning came and packed my order while still wearing the same gloves used for cleaning. Basic hygiene rules were clearly ignored. I was surprised at the moment, but since tongs were used, I did not immediately make a big issue out of it.
However, when I got home and opened the product, I was shocked. There were water droplets on top of the mosaic cake and a large white hair on it. I immediately took photos and reported the incident to Starbucks Germany customer service.
Despite several reminders during the process, the refund was issued only six months later, in February 2026. Afterwards, they told me they would like to send me a small package as a gesture of goodwill. Considering everything that had already happened, I accepted this gesture. However, the package never arrived. When I informed customer service about it, my message — just like before — was simply ignored.
The real issue is not whether the package arrived or not. The real issue is the careless, dismissive and almost mocking attitude of Starbucks Germany customer service towards customers.
I have experienced Starbucks in many different countries and I have never encountered such an unhygienic situation or such a poor handling of a legitimate complaint. If you are serving products under these conditions, the very least you can do is take complaints seriously, inform customers transparently about corrective actions, and process refunds promptly.
For me, Starbucks used to represent international standards and comfort. After my experience in Germany, however, it will remain in my mind as a brand that does not take hygiene seriously and refuses to take responsibility for its mistakes.
If you are looking for a place where hygiene seems to be optional and where it is difficult to find a serious point of contact when a problem occurs, this is definitely the right place.

New rewards program

Don’t like that how they changed the rewards program. Now there’s a dollar limit when redeeming for a free cup of coffee. This is a multi BILLION dollar company. You can sacrifice $12 for a free cup of coffee here and there.

Please change back to the old chai

Please change back to the old chai. The new chai has made me have severe diarrhea. I usually order 2 pumps of chai. Made me very sick. Changed to 1 pump with syrup same result. Hade one pump with no syrup, still sick. Been getting chai from the beginning and now I’m so sad. You lost me as a customer for good!

Hate the new chai tea.

I used to tell everyone that would listen about how great the Starbucks chai tea latte was because it was my favorite.. this new chai they are using now is awful. It leaves a gross after taste and it pretty much just tastes water down and sad. I used to go to Starbucks everyday but I don’t think I have a reason to go anymore.

Not my kind of chai!

My complaint is not about the service at Starbucks. It's about the recent horrible decision to switch to a different brand of chai. My go-to tall soy chai today with the new chai syrup and Starbucks sweetener was absolutely terrible. No more Starbucks chai for me! I have loved Starbuck chai latte for many years, but this change is a real disappointment!

Whats the deal with starbucks ceasing…

Whats the deal with starbucks ceasing the birthday drink. For all the money the company makes. A complimentary drink once a year is nothing. Unhappy customer, i will take my business elsewhere out of sheer principal.

No toppings That come with a specific two times in one week

I did a mobile order yesterday and one last week both times it was a cold foam cold brew. Both times there was supposed to be sprinkles in top. No topping in either drink. Yesterday was the new Toasted Coconut Cold Brew with toasted coconut on top of the cold foam.No roasted coconut on top . It was a the Tarpon Springs on 19 and MLK both times. It is not that hard to make a drink correctly. That is what we’re paying for. I don’t care if you’re in a hurry or you’re just plain out lazy but, the drink is supposed to be what it is supposed to be! They don’t care who they hire but when you have someone like my daughter, it will be an excellent employee with four years experience at outback in three years experience at another restaurant very self-conscious very conscientious very meticulous but Starbucks wouldn’t hire her why I couldn’t tell you‼️

We can't believe Starbuck's would do this!!

We can't believe Starbuck's would do something so ridiculous as to change their chai tea ingredients. We go every Mon & Fri & occasionally Wed. Last Monday our drink was wonderful as always but today it was just horrible!! I thought they put a different kind of milk in it so I took our two drinks back in & had them make two more & they were equally as horrible. While sitting in the parking lot we checked out Starbuck's on our phone & found out that they just changed the syrup they use. It's tasteless & disgusting. We won't be going back & paying for a drink we no longer can tolerate. They actually changed something that's obviously been working for them for 25 years. What kind of marketing strategy is this? Explain!

Ordered a Starbucks to be delivered, absolutely shocking experience, upon arrival the one in plastic container had split at the bottom leaking the entire contents into the bag, I feel the service provided is appalling and would not recommend to anyone. I can clearly see why you have 2 star average reviews and that I'm not the only one experiencing this. Do better next time.. Costa all the way from now on.

Poor customer service

I was visiting in Arizona and made a 19.55 purchase. I noticed I did not get my stars for that purchase so I asked the young lady who checked me out and she said it could take a while for them to show up. By that afternoon I still had not reviewed my stars so I called customer service and they said I had to show proof I had made the purchase. I did not get a receipt at the time of purchase so I sent a copy of my credit card statement. After waiting for a month no stars so I called customer service again and was told I was denied the stars because I did not have valid proof of purchase. Funny they took the money. A true proof of buyer beware. Not a customer friendly company!!!

The new sugar-free chai is the worst…

The new sugar-free chai is the worst decision Starbucks has ever made. When you go to McDonald’s they offer Coke and Diet Coke. You have a choice of which one you would like. You are not forced to drink Diet Coke because you have options. But I don’t understand is why Starbucks didn’t offer the regular chai or the sugar-free version of chai giving us a choice. But now we are forced to have sugar-free chai and modify it with sweetener. My normal drink is nine pumps of chai so I had to have nine pumps of sweetener in my drink today which filled up half of my cup. I’m paying six dollars for this crap I don’t think so. I’ve been drinking this drink for 25 years and now the company has decided to take my choice away and make a decision for me as to what I want to drink. It does not taste anything like chai with all this sweetener in it. This is the most disgusting taste of a drink I’ve had in my life. Maybe I’ll have to start visiting Dunkin’ Donuts and try their chai. But I’ll tell you one thing after speaking to my barista this morning at my local Starbucks customers are pissed. They don’t like it. You should’ve been able to give us a choice of original chai or sugar-free chai but you took it upon yourself to make that decision for us. Good luck, keeping your customer base. Because you’ve lost me as a customer.
