Good to know
We understand that passengers come with luggage, so we won’t charge you any extra for yours. Car passengers can bring as much as they can fit into their vehicles. And foot passengers can bring as much as they can carry, so long as no single piece of luggage is over 23kg in weight. That makes packing a whole lot easier!

Check in and Boarding by bus was quick and easy at Dublin. Had purchased a breakfast voucher but what I got I thought was miserly and overpriced .
.Before sailing , I went to deck above the Cafe and used the outside stairs to come back down to the Cafe Deck . These were not in the best of shape . Peeling Paint, Rusty and not looking all that safe .
While not Stena,s fault, the Cafe Area was plagued with a horde of dysfunctional, hyperactive children running around wild .
Despite the frequent appeals from the crew , their equally dysfunctional parents did nothing to control them .
Can I suggest have a boat to tow behind the Ferry just for them .?
In Stena,s favour, all areas of the ship were spotless.
Disembarking was slow and it must have been 35 mins after docking .. Last off and loading of the returning lorries had started.

The boat was clean and boarding was great. The staff were all friendly except at the end of our journey. We arrived into Holyhead just before 8pm and had a train from Holyhead and 8:26pm. We were then held on the boat awaiting the cars and trucks departure and as a result missed the connecting train. The final train from Holyhead. Either the train company or ferry companies need to work together on this because it’s crazy. We would then have been stranded in Holyhead until 5am unless our friend had made the 160mile round trip to pick us up. There was one member of staff who just shrugged their shoulders and said it’s gonna be tight getting that. Ah well. I’ll be writing to the train company cos the last train at 8:26 is mad but you know it is too so why not find some other way to get foot passengers off quicker. After all the cars and trucks have their ongoing transport!

Kids loved the puzzle solving and colouring; staff went out of way to reward them with medal and cookie as they are vegetarian.
Comfortable stay.
Can improve on kids play areas as it seems good for little ones not for 6yr+..

Great trip both ways .. only spoiled by giving up in the onboard shop … I was about to spend £60 on gifts for my grandchildren but after a long wait for somebody to take my money I gave up and left the shop …

Your staff are second to none. They are professional, friendly and extremely helpful. I wouldn't travel with any other ferry company across the Irish sea

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my recent 8-hour journey, for which I was charged £85.
The cabin provided measured only 3 square metres, which proved to be extremely cramped. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning, leaving the space stuffy and claustrophobic. Unfortunately, we felt uncomfortable and suffocated throughout the entire duration of the trip.
When I contacted your customer service team in the middle of the night to raise these concerns, I was informed that nothing could be done to assist us as there was only provision for heating it and no cooling. This response was deeply disappointing, as we had hoped for at least some alternative solution or guidance.
Given that the conditions were genuinely unacceptable and the service provided fell far below a reasonable standard, I respectfully but firmly request a full refund of the £85 fare.
I trust that you will take this matter seriously and look forward to your prompt response.

I’m giving Stena Line 3 stars based on my experience.
Firstly, at the Liverpool terminal, there is no conveyor belt for loading baggage like there is at the Belfast terminal. Passengers have to load their luggage into the baggage vehicle themselves. There was also no staff member at the loading area to organise or assist with this. Because everyone was placing their bags wherever they could, the luggage was not loaded in an organised manner, making it difficult for others to find space and load their bags.
Secondly, I was disappointed with the food on board. The overall quality was not very good and could definitely be improved.
Apart from these issues, the overall journey was okay, but improving the baggage handling process at Liverpool and the quality of the food would make the experience much better.

Check in and boarding with a car, 2 passengers and our Shih Tzu Bailey was easy. Pet cabin was spacious and spotless. Beds were comfortable although it was only @ 3 hours smooth crossing. Easy disembark also. Food was OK but pricey for the quality. Would definitely use this Ferry and Route if going to Ireland 😎👍
