Smooth booking in process for foot passengers. Very good car parking rates at Cairnryan port. On board facilities were adequate - found the restaurant fairly expensive, but was expecting this to be... See more

Good to know
We understand that passengers come with luggage, so we won’t charge you any extra for yours. Car passengers can bring as much as they can fit into their vehicles. And foot passengers can bring as much as they can carry, so long as no single piece of luggage is over 23kg in weight. That makes packing a whole lot easier!

I did not like the filth of our deluxe cabin, the floor in particular. Totally unacceptable, dog cabin or no dog cabin - I need to take my shoes off at night! TBH this is the standard for Stenaline in my experience and I’ve travelled many times.

The journey with Stena line Ferries was great, from the simple online booking service to the smooth check in at Cairnryan/Belfast ports. The ships are nice and modern and have a great choice of things to do on board and with a sailing time of two and a half hours you have time to have a meal, have a head/shoulder massage supplied by the excellent Stena staff or simply relax with a coffee and read your book.

Our trip back to UK from Rotterdam went so smoothly and free of stress. We were in our car and check in and loading was speedy and efficient with plenty of space to open doors. We had a pleasant well priced meal and used one of the cabins which was well appointed, very clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and pleasant and the pricing competitive.

Today we made it to our ferry at the hook of Holland having broken down and leaving our car in the Netherlands - it’s been a nightmare ! - but today we travelled on the ferry back to England and Paul and his colleague took pity on us after hearing our story and they gave us our own area in the truckers lounge as it was empty … we hadn’t slept for 2 nights and these guys fed us and made the end of a horrible experience into a lovely gesture of kindness and we truly appreciated it ! We just got home, thank you so so much x

All aspects of the trip were absolutely faultless. The support provided to my wife, who is in a wheelchair, was of the highest order. Thank you.

The boat was lovely. Very spacious and clean. The cabins were very comfortable. Boarding was straightforward and on time. Regular SMS updates were very helpful.

Check in and Boarding by bus was quick and easy at Dublin. Had purchased a breakfast voucher but what I got I thought was miserly and overpriced .
.Before sailing , I went to deck above the Cafe and used the outside stairs to come back down to the Cafe Deck . These were not in the best of shape . Peeling Paint, Rusty and not looking all that safe .
While not Stena,s fault, the Cafe Area was plagued with a horde of dysfunctional, hyperactive children running around wild .
Despite the frequent appeals from the crew , their equally dysfunctional parents did nothing to control them .
Can I suggest have a boat to tow behind the Ferry just for them .?
In Stena,s favour, all areas of the ship were spotless.
Disembarking was slow and it must have been 35 mins after docking .. Last off and loading of the returning lorries had started.

The boat was clean and boarding was great. The staff were all friendly except at the end of our journey. We arrived into Holyhead just before 8pm and had a train from Holyhead and 8:26pm. We were then held on the boat awaiting the cars and trucks departure and as a result missed the connecting train. The final train from Holyhead. Either the train company or ferry companies need to work together on this because it’s crazy. We would then have been stranded in Holyhead until 5am unless our friend had made the 160mile round trip to pick us up. There was one member of staff who just shrugged their shoulders and said it’s gonna be tight getting that. Ah well. I’ll be writing to the train company cos the last train at 8:26 is mad but you know it is too so why not find some other way to get foot passengers off quicker. After all the cars and trucks have their ongoing transport!

Kids loved the puzzle solving and colouring; staff went out of way to reward them with medal and cookie as they are vegetarian.
Comfortable stay.
Can improve on kids play areas as it seems good for little ones not for 6yr+..
