Used to be so good loved it for brookside noticed maybe 6,7 weeks ago it had been updated with a new look since then disaster won't remember place on series or continue watching crashes with various bugs several times an episode.
Won't let me install the app on another TV by not letting me log in ,absolute waste of time ,given the dreadful reviews on this forum and the total lack of any response ,I can only assume at. Are fully aware of these issues but simply can't or won't fix them.

I am so angry at having my time wasted by this awful service is. Why any advertiser would wish to use such an awful platform is completely beyond me. STV seems to think that it is acceptable to blast customers with so many adverts for us to then discover that the program being delivered is the program that was broadcast an hour ago,after three attempts I gave up and when to ITV. In the time that it has taken me to write this review it has crashed three times, why would anyone want watch programming on this platform when it is constantly interrupted? Being the good citizen I will be passing this review on to their advertisers. It's only fair that they know how few potential customers they are not reaching using this awful platform.

Terrible! Annoying to watch anything. It kept freezing after ads and every time it reloaded it would give me more ads.

Dreadful Ap...9 adverts and if you rewind you have to watch 9 more..it's terrible.

The ad breaks are so badly timed,The programs break for ads at the most inappropriate times during scenes.

I have to log in to the app over and over again!
I made several complaints and yet it just continues to ask for my email & password. It’s an absolute pain!

StV Player is probably the most frustrating app on a Smart TV. Not really sure why I even try. Its a joke

This is totally unwatchable, disgraceful that they won’t sort it out , unbelievable in this day and age they can’t be bothered to address the issues , plays for 2 minutes at most then goes off , won’t even attempt to watch anymore !!!

Update: If you watch from a browser (Chrome only; everything else seems to be incompatible...) then yo can get to watch the end of the program.

The latest little bug in STV player is to bring up the link to the next episode with a 10 second count down when there is still 6-10 minutes of the program to play.

There appears to be no way of stopping the countdown linking to the next episode... I think I've tried every combination.

Basically, if you can't watch STV live on their schedule then you can't watch it at all.

That is just not acceptable in this age of On-Demand programming.

As so many others have said, the STV player is just a joke....totally and utterly useless. Worse still, they don't seem to care at all and have the worst viewer communications / relations ever. For a company that is supposedly standing proud as the only remaining independent ITV franchise left, it is doing all of its customers the greatest disservice. Never thought I'd hear myself say it but just give it up STV....let us be part of ITV....at least ITVX works flawlessly.

Every big sport event shown on STV player hangs, buffers and crashes without exception. I get this on no other streaming service and I have 1GB fibre and a very high spec setup. I always despair when events are shown and currently trying to watch the Superbowl but it has turned into a joke.

Cannot access STV player app on Virgin Media. Gets to start of programme but won't start. It was ok last week and now nothing. All other apps work perfectly. This is pathetic.

Is this the worst streaming app in the world? Quite possibly. At the moment, I can ONLY watch adverts because the app gets stuck after them and doesn’t play any of the actual programmes. Why can’t you just let us watch all shows on ITVX instead of punishing us for being Scottish with this rubbish?

What a shambles 20 minutes to sign in when all I want is to catch up on something that failed to record due to the football being on! Once in forced to watch too many ads on live TV I can record then fast forward but not on this service! Who even watches/pays attention to advertisements these days? Just do away with them in this app, they are a blight on everyone’s lives and wasting my valuable time. Hate this service it is the worst kicks you out and picture quality is jumping, I have other streaming services that work to perfection so it is this rubbish app that is the problem, possibly due to the app trying to deal with all these damn advertising clips clogging up the internet!

The app keeps stopping. The screen goes blank and you have to start the whole process again. The program does continue from where you left off but it is so frustrating.

Worst streaming service I’ve ever used. Never works even with location on so can’t ever watch football when it’s on ITV. Why show football on an app that doesn’t work?

This is truly awful. Trying to watch the 6 Nations and the site is flaky at best. It ruins the experience with the constant buffering and/or loss of definition during the games. During the Ireland/France game, every time it went to ads the app even stopped working (not sure your advertisers would be best pleased with that). With reliable super fast fibre broadband I can’t blame it on the connection. The only reason I use it is I can’t use the ITV Player because of where I live. Sort yourselves out STV!

What is the point ? We are in the year 2024, and stv player has got to be the worst streaming service ever. Constant buffering, continual ads, and when you do manage on the odd occasion, to get the program back again, it starts way back at the beginning, so you have to rewatch to where you were. How on earth is this streaming service still being advertised? Either get the app fixed or just end it, absolutely pointless.

This is an appalling streaming app. Constantly freezing/ buffering/ skipping. No comparison to all the other streaming apps I use - no idea why it’s so useless. I have only persisted with it so far due to being unable to watch ITV1 on ITVX as am in Scotland but am now giving up, and will just find something else to watch on a decent app.
