My first ever trip to Antalya, Turkey on 7th May.
I wasn’t able to eat before my flight due to Traffic Jam on M3 and therefore running late for check in and boarding. So I decided to purchase the food from in flight service. To my shock amazement both my Barclays Debit and Platinum Visa was not accepted by their Machine. So I tried paying cash in Turkish Liras but they refused to accept their own currency and insisted on Euros which I didn’t have. This shows money is King whether you eat or not nobody cares. I finally got to the hotel in Side, Antalya approx: 20.50 pm. The receptionist was so decent and suggested I should go and eat in the restaurant before it closes at 21.00 pm. That was my first meal of the whole day.
Shame on Sun Express for being rigid and inflexible with currencies. Pure greed and not to be used again.
Booked with TUI , everything went well staff very polite and attentive only problem onboard was buying something to eat it said credit card failure but we used it in marmaris other people on board had the same just glad we had euros with us otherwise all was really good both ways .
I flew from Gaziantep to Antalya. The flight was comfortable and not crowded. The cabin crew was polite and professional.
very difficult to book seats on flights. We felt it was like trying to rebook flights from scratch. should be more automated and easier to select. Took far to long to eventually get the seats booked.
The charge for 20kg luggage is CRAZY!!!
£100+ for only 20kg? Not even Ryanair dares to do that! And that’s one one way! Very friendly yes, but the prices are too high for such company !
Friendly service on the plane. Lovely and clean. Nice leg room for standard seating. Would be nice to have tvs on the back of the seats for the kids. Also be handy to take cash for payments.
Check in luggage from Gatwick was quick and efficient. From Antalya was very very slow. Didn’t have time to grab anything to eat before boarding the plane.
The App was ok, but trying to book our seats was an issue. Kept telling me to enter my details, which I already had about 100 times. Finally managed to get it sorted.
Overall I would use again
They cancelled my flight, with no option to rebook, no refund, just advised to contact Customer Service, on calling several times, the line states they are busy, and unless my flight is within 24 hrs, call later! Not good enough..
SunExpress have been impossible to get hold of to make changes re their mistakes in the spelling of my name. I booked with Expedia who do have my correct spelling. I now face possible issues on my flight home because they say… it’s’nothing to do with them’!!! Avoid these people.
Good service throughout flight
Aircraft was clean and modern
Flight crew were very professional
Worst handling of flight changes - left stranded with infant
Rating: 1/5
Flight: XQ530 Antalya AYT → London Luton LTN, 29/04/2026
I booked Sunexpress for a flight on 29/04/2026. They changed my flight twice without consent: first to 30/04, then to 01/05. The 01/05 date was not workable - I had unpaid leave and was traveling with an infant under 6 months.
I provided proof that a flight on 30/04 was available and asked to be re-routed. Sunexpress refused and told me to take the 2-day later flight or lose my money. When I booked my own flight to get home, they refused to reimburse me.
No offer of care, no re-routing on the earliest available flight, and no help when I contacted them. I had to pay £251.70 for a replacement flight plus hotel and parking costs. Customer service only sent a written refusal.
If you’re traveling with a family or on a schedule, avoid Sunexpress. They will change your flight and leave you to sort it out yourself.
Sad thing is booked like 5 months before, yet they failed.
Rubbish airline.
I have gone legal and will get my money reimbursed! Bloody thief’s!
Experienced issue trying to put passengers details in site kept freezing gave up waited weeks then it finally allowed me to do it but had to add add ons befor it would accept passengers details
I have not flown with SunExpress before now. And found the journey very pleasant.
It took more than 1 hour to book my flights as your system did not function correctly and would not let me enter my card details.
Despite trying to get this resolved with you AI Bot it also failed to do anything and told me to contact your support number I tried both the Turkish numbers I was given but just got Turkish recorded messages hence I was forced to make the booking all over again, Disgraceful way to treat your customers!?
This was all done through my registered account which I was logged in to
The worst service ever! If you have booked a package holiday they will try to take advantage of the package and charge you an extra £80 on the way back home for cabin luggage even though the app says your allowed a trolley luggage, they will blame the package hol agency. Also for the in flight snacks, the card machine or apple pay will not work as they want you to pay extra in cash. Such scammers, its unreal!! On the way back from Antalya this is what they did to me. They will take advantage of your situation and get money out of you with whatever means they can. Please avoid this airline!
SunExpress moved my 8 June flight (XQ1613, STN to COV) forward by 3 days to 5 June without offering any real alternatives. The notification email only gave me one option: accept the new date or reject it. No mention of my right to be re-routed on another flight or airline at no cost, as required by UK Regulation 261/2004.
I couldn't travel on 5 June, so I called and asked for a refund, because SunExpress presented it as though that was the only alternative. After researching my rights, I called again and asked to be re-routed. I was told re-routing is only available on SunExpress flights and that since I'd accepted a refund, nothing could be done. Both of these are incorrect under UK law.
Now I'm forced to buy replacement flights that cost 10,681 TRY more than my original booking. I've sent a formal complaint citing Articles 5, 8, 12, 14, and 15 of UK 261. Under Article 15(2), a passenger who was not correctly informed of their rights is still entitled to pursue additional compensation, regardless of having accepted a refund. If this isn't resolved, I'll be escalating to the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and pursuing it through the courts. The law is clear on this, and I'm confident the compensation will follow, whether SunExpress pays it willingly or a court orders them to.
SunExpress had two chances to inform me of my rights, the email and the phone call, and failed both times. Other passengers should know: if your flight is significantly changed, the airline is legally required to offer you re-routing on ANY reasonable available flight, including other airlines, at no extra cost. Don't let them make you think a refund is your only option.
Another easy booking of flights perfect thank you SunExpress
We had to check in at the airport on our Paris-Izmir flight because, as citizens of Northern Cyprus, it wasn't an option. We paid 10 euros, but some passengers in the same situation were not charged. I want to state that this was not our fault and that the fee charged was incorrect.
