I just had my first cooking class with Sur La Table Palo Alto as a Christmas gift from my wife (which I asked for as I am retired and wanted to learn how to cook). It was a basics class for beginners like me (although they have more advanced classes too) and it was great fun as well as educational. Both the staff and my three cooking mates were very friendly, and we had fun collectively creating a great meal of seared steak with herbed butter, "truffled pommes puree" (truffled mashed potatoes), salad, and "the best chocolate chip cookies" many of which I took back to my family. The resulting meal was one I don't think you could buy in Palo Alto for the $99 price of the class (if only they had a license to add a nice red wine!). As a person who is best known for his toast I do expect to go back for another class or two. The only problem is that you may not have all the equipment to do all that they teach you...but I'm sure you can buy it from them. Anyway, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend it.

I bought an espresso maker and for my good luck it arrived damaged. I needed to arrange a return and I called the store and they forwarded me to the 800 number. From my good luck I got this wonderful young lady named Karina Godina. She was beyond polite, extremely professional and very helpful. Resolved my issue within moments felt empathy for what I had gone through and overall, it was just a great experience and she was just plain wonderful.!

I had the great pleasure to have Angelica Rojas (Angie) answer my "call of distress" when I realized the virtual gift card I had been issued was not being recognized by the website. She was so patient with me as I recited order numbers, ticket numbers, email correspondence, etc. to see that she had all the information to pass to the Virtual Card Department to investigate my case. She was meticulous with the details and promised follow up from her, which she actually did. This IS what customer support should be and she exemplified it to its fullest during her time with me. Thank you for seeing it through to the end, I couldnt be happier.

I’m so disappointed that Sur La Tab has stopped carrying the White Peppercorn fragrance in hand soap, candles, lotion and infusers, as are all my friends. We all adored the White Peppercorn scent, it was pretty much a perfect scent and hadn’t really been replicated anywhere else. Almost felt like it could have been their signature scent, it was that good. Now it looks like it’s been discontinued and only replaced with a candle that is peppercorn and citrus, sadly different and not the same. Really sad about this.
Also would like to comment on the packaging of their hand soaps now, it’s so generic and looks budget, not anything I would put on my counter in my bathroom or kitchen. I was very disappointed when I went in this Christmas to buy my years supply of White Peppercorn products and what I found (didn’t find). I ended up buying nothing and went elsewhere.

I was missing an item from my order. I contacted customer service and spoke with Daniel Garcia. Daniel was very helpful and explained why that item was not in the original package received (was being sent directly from the manufacturer). Daniel went above and beyond and contacted the manufacturer and tracked the package. He told me the day and even 2 hour window delivery time. I received the missing item a few days later exactly when Daniel said. Thank you Daniel!

There was an initial miscommunication as to which item was to be exchanged. Once that was cleared, my daughter was able to receive a new loaf pan (today).
Especially with metal cooking tools, I feel they should be well packed with insulated materials not mere plastic bag. They might easily receive dent during the process of shipping.
Other than that, we are happy with Dutch oven pot and other baking tools. You offer a wide variety of colors and sizes.

My family and I have made the holiday cooking classes at Sur La Table a cherished tradition for the past four years. This year, we hit a major roadblock when two-thirds of our household came down with the flu just before our scheduled class. Initially, I was very concerned because the 48-hour cancellation policy was being applied quite rigidly, despite our medical emergency and our desire to keep the kitchen environment safe for others.
However, I am writing this review specifically to highlight the incredible service provided by Brenton. After I reached out to discuss the situation, Brenton stepped in with a level of empathy and professional flexibility that is rare to find. He understood that we weren't looking for a refund, but simply a way to preserve our family tradition and our investment.
Brenton went above and beyond to resolve the matter equitably, ensuring that we felt valued as long-standing customers. It’s because of staff members like him that we will continue to call Sur La Table our home for holiday cooking.

This review regarding the customer service at Surlatable is easy. There is none.
The Tysons store is fully staffed with many employees standing around, but at check out there were only two staff, one checking out customers and one spending an exorbitant amount of time trying to find a pan for one customer. Meanwhile the line had a dozen customers and the wait to check out was twenty minutes.
In addition, when we got the item home, a simple spatula, we discovered that when you removed to store marking and tags there was a dangerously sharp edge to the spatula making it very dangerous to use.
We tired calling the store and I have been online for 31 minutes listening endlessly to an annoying loop of an announcement touting the wonders of Surlatable, employment opportunities, and delivery service. This announcement became became annoying after about 100 times.
So, my suggestion is to patronize the many, many other options for kitchen items. Hopefully, you will be rewarded with a company that actually has customer service.

The baking pans I ordered were damaged but customer support, especially Diana Ponce, took care of it really quickly. She was very responsive to my emails and helped me get a replacement of my pans.

I received a delivery that was intended for another customer. I reached Beatriz Panduro in customer service, who was very courteous and helpful during the busy holiday season. In a few days she was able to verify my original order and have it sent to me very quickly. I am very pleased with how the was resolved.
