Honestly this year's taxes were intimidating because I had a business dissolve, I started a new job, I moved, so many things. I was so glad to be coming back to TaxAct so it could recall my old info and I remembered how helpful the questions were in the past. You might be skeptical of AI but it was SOO incredibly useful to ask it every question I needed to, to ask it to explain questions and even tell it my cases. This was remarkable and I'll never change softwares.

It does not accept my federal returns for the second time. very frustrating.

The process was made very easy. As it is my first year of creating my business, I was able to more easily understand the estimated tax liability and the software planned it all out for me.

I thought you I had submitted my taxes on the 15th when paid. Trying to to sell me stuff, I didn't know that I had not filed.

Used other tax products in the past and Tax Act is leaps and bounds above the competition. It was easy to navigate difficult scenarios. Worth every penny!

I submitted my taxes back in March, went through the whole process of filing for my deposit and it was never submitted

I completed my return at the beginning of the month, but forgot to press the final button to submit it. I wish your program had reminded me that I needed to actually file the return. Yes, my mistake, but a reminder for forgetful people would be a great addition to your programming.

Great program with the upgraded tax expert check

It was extremely simple and straightforward. Only problem were the hidden fees. I thought I was filing for free and paid over 100

I started using the service through IRS.gov years ago. I continue to use it because my info is already compiled in the website. They keep making you pay for more and more forms and checks. My return is fairly easy, I make just over the amount for free filing so I have to pay, no big deal. The reason for only two stars is it took an hour to complete my taxes and four hours to get my taxes e-filed. There is no check in the process/software that your pin from last year and your ID.me pin should not be the same number. Once I figured out what I was doing wrong, I could not easily get back to the spot where you put in your ID.me pin. It also doesn't tell you that it changes every year so you have to log in to get the new pin. The whole process was very frustrating.

Instructions are pretty clear, the program auto-saves regularly, you can work on your return in multiple sessions without losing your place, it's easy to review items entered to make changes if needed, the auto-review is very helpful to find possible errors. Overall an easy-to-use, friendly program.
