Disappointed

As a Telstra customer for nearly 20 years, I was very disappointed today that Stockland Green Hills (East Maitland) would not do a data transfer from my old phone to my new. Chap at the door even admitted that it was a simple straightforward procedure (which I know it is) but that 'his technicians' could not do it as I hadn't bought the new phone there.
He then proceeded to give me a long spiel about the great service they offer to customers who buy their phones from them, which really was of no interest to me at all.
Never mind, I took my business to one of the independent phone shops at Stockland & they did the data transfer for me pleasantly and efficiently. Support your local small businesses!

Service is non existent

Spoke with a rep on the Telstra app on Monday about my internet and fetch tv service not working. They lodged a complaint on my behalf, stating I would hear from the complaints department in 24-48 hours. Nothing. I contact them after the 2nd business day, only to told my complaint was not allocated to a Case Manager, and they will try and escalate it tomorrow. Moving into day 3 with no internet or television at home despite paying $150/mth for the 2 bricks they call a modem and fetch box

If I could rate lower than 1 I would.

If I could rate lower than 1, I would. Telstra is so useless and would do anything but try to help you. Unless you have over 500 or more dropouts a day, they could call fewer. Don't even get me started with the people at the call centre, because not one of them is able to help and starts lying to my face that there is no problem with the net. How many times must I have to call to tell you to send a technician out, and when I finally get one, Telstra decides to cancel???? Now Telstra wants their new modem they sent out back, which is what was supposed to fix our net (it did not). Telstra is one of the largest telecommunications companies, and they are so useless and petty that they want me to send their new modem back to them for what? It was never requested. Telstra is a good company until something goes wrong, and they are like "f-you". Do something, Telstra. Get better.

Telstra are incompetent

This company is the worst phone provider when it comes to service. This week my plan was cancelled due to 2 missed payments that they didn’t even notify me about.
They then agreed to reinstate me over the phone, charged my monthly amount, and then told they would call me back a couple days later to confirm.
I was called and transferred to the finance team, when I answered all I heard was an Indian lady yelling at a customer in the background of the call. The person I was speaking to asked me if I was there, then after I said yes, she hung up.
Then I call again waiting on the line for 30 minutes, just to be told they can’t reinstate my plan and that I have to pay the remainder of my plan without service. They then asked if I wanted to start a new plan.
From telling me I could get my plan going, to charging me a monthly amount, to being re-contacted then hung up on, to being told that actually no, we can’t help you.
I’m not even mad that they can’t reactivate the plan, I missed the payments (fair enough) but the way they messed me around has really annoyed me. Bottom tier service, terrible systems, incompetent staff.

Unreliable internet

My internet drops out everyday, the technician was supposed to come and inspect it and was cancelled every single time and I am told the matter has been resolved when it hasn't, I had no internet the whole weekend. I am currently looking at other options because this has gone on for 12 months.

Poor customer service and support

When I click a link straight from an email they have sent me, it doesn’t recognise my login. I then proceed to login with two factor authentication and I have a new phone number. I cannot change that number unless I go in store. But they have since closed my local store for no apparent reason and now the closet store is an hour away.
For a company that I pay $40 every 28 days for, they most certainly cannot get the tech support right. A real rip off.

Totally useless!!

Totally useless!!! Needed my 5g modem replaced. Took 3 phone calls and over 2hrs of calls to get it replaced. Didn't return my call as they said they would so had to call back after waiting 11 days. A total disgrace to our country. Have had to go thru the ID process over 7 times!! Wish I had never gone with Telstra - the CEO should be fired.

Required support for my service….

Required support for my service for the last 4 days now. Since the begging of this issue i have had the same level of service every time i have attempted to contact them which is absolutely terrible. No help what so ever. I strongly recommend giving a different telco a go as Telstra is over priced with terrible customer service. I was a Telstra advocate for the last 10 - 15 Years, I’m safe to say i wont re-sign with Telstra any time soon from the level of customer service i have received.

0 stars if I could

0 stars if I could. Telstra have been billing my elderly neighbour for years for an $80 a month plan with 180GB when they only ever use average of 16GB, stating that was the best plan for them or convincing them that it was better value as the $70 a month plan has only 50GB. When I supported them to sign up to TPG for $17.50 a month for 6months before a $35 plan takes over with 50GB Telstra made it so difficult to locate their customer ID number as this was the last step to activate their new TPG account. Endless emails, phone calls, and text message for "security codes" and "sorry it's confidential information" and "I am not authorised to give you that" Telstra staff sent it anyway in an email after they had probably had enough entertainment. So it wasn't that hard or confidential after all! Shame on you Telstra.

A year of continual outages

A year of continual outages, refusing to send technicians, when technicians do come they don’t fix anything. The latest update is “there’s an issue in your area, it will be resolved 1/12/2025” that’s 8 days away.

our company had to move to a new location and wish to stay with Telstra as we did for last 28 years. As a result of internet being slow and no land line phone, we try to contact Telstra for more than 1.5 month , problem still not being fixed. Telstra keep trying blaming other party but themself. Technician made arrangement for site visit but not showing up (twice)without excuses, changing schedule without informing customer so I don't have to waste my time for waiting at premises, but when I raise my voice , the agent said : " sorry, I can't help in this case". BIG BIG frustration . Should I change to an other provider!?

Telstra is a ripoff

I live in Ellenbrook, Perth.
I never have a reliable connection on my phone, cannot make phone calls in my home, and the wifi internet is always running at lower speed than im paying for.
I do not recommend Telstra to any person.
Telstra needs to be made responsible for their poor services.
