Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 2,709 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with products, citing issues like poor organization, damaged or inedible items, and concerns about quality and use-by dates. Customers frequently encountered unhelpful and dismissive customer service, finding it difficult to resolve complaints or receive proper communication. The general service was often criticized for being unreliable, with reports of missed or failed deliveries. However, some customers also noted positive interactions with individual staff members, describing them as friendly and helpful. Conversely, a few people felt that staff could be rude or unhelpful. While some appreciated the politeness of delivery drivers, others experienced significant issues like late arrivals, damaged goods, or non-delivery.

Tesco ollerton

Tesco ollerton, please can you sort your stock levels out and manage it better because every time ive been going in for the last year, your shelfs are bare! for one thing or the other and it's not just nice things it's for the pure basics, like milk, bread etc. It's just getting to the point where i will just shop somewhere else. Not only are your prices starting to get ridicolous you can't even buy them because you have barely nothing in stock! For such a big company you would surely be able to manage your stock levels adequately. Its not the staffs fault they can only do what they can. There's no question You will need to improve when the new aldi is completed half a mile down the road! So sort it out!

Gift card fraud, unhelpful staff

I received a gift card purchased from Tesco with £100 loaded onto it to spend at John Lewis. However, when I tried to use it, I was informed that there was no balance available.
I contacted John Lewis, who confirmed that they could see the gift card had been purchased from Tesco, but explained that it had never been activated. This left me in the extremely awkward position of having to contact the person who kindly gifted it to me and explain that the voucher they had purchased was unusable.
She returned to Tesco, where she was initially told the issue was with John Lewis, leaving us unable to resolve the matter. She then contacted Tesco customer services via WhatsApp, where Tesco acknowledged that the error was on their side and advised her to visit a Tesco store with the WhatsApp conversation, the gift card and the Clubcard details so that they could rectify the issue.
Unfortunately, the Tesco Express store refused to help. We then visited a Tesco Extra, but they were also unable to resolve the matter as they could not locate the transaction on the Clubcard history.
We are now £100 out of pocket due to an error made by Tesco. Despite having written confirmation from Tesco customer services accepting responsibility, we have still been unable to have the gift card activated or receive a refund.
The amount of time and effort required to resolve a problem that was entirely caused by Tesco has been unacceptable. Expecting a heavily pregnant customer to make multiple trips to different Tesco stores in an attempt to correct Tesco’s own mistake is extremely disappointing. I am requesting that this matter is escalated urgently and that the £100 balance is restored or refunded without any further inconvenience.

TESCO - WHOOSH. .,,,,,, no show!

I ordered an urgent delivery through Tescos website late last Wednesday with the regularly advertised “SPEEDY DELIVERY SERVICE 🤣 Whoosh” and it was simple and straight forward until the person delivering could not find my address, he called me and I got the gist he was lost I explained my location simply but he didn’t understand what I was saying and I speak clearly and I could barely decipher what he was saying. I walked to the bottom of the close where I live and halfway there he hung up on me. When I got there, which is 1-minute, he had disappeared and I received an automated message saying “I had cancelled my order”. Why in an English speaking country do these companies hire people who cannot speak/understand English??? Please make it make sense.
I contacted Tescos to complain and the young lady was empathetic and helpful but I drew the line when she said “Whoosh is a third party, It’s run by Uber”. NO, Tesco advertise Whoosh as one of THEIR services, the buck stops fairly and squarely with them. She offered me a £20 voucher, as a gesture of goodwill towards my next Whoosh delivery (not going to happen) or grocery delivery from the store. That being said, I have NEVER had a good experience with Uber so not surprised with the bad service. I do not use Uber by choice generally. Why have these stores allowed their services to deteriorate, is their priority cheap labour or their customer?? I had the exact problem with Sainsbury’s and Deliveroo their equivalent service, I hasten to add, I no longer shop at Sainsbury’s because of it. I am now strongly considering just shopping in independent local shops. I say “we need to go back to the little family owned British shops, as we used to have!”.

Tesco Armed Forces - Unable to find Free Breakfast on screens

Just visited Tesco Blackpool Road, Preston for Armed Forces/Veteran's Free Breakfast, staff very helpful but they could not find where to order on touch screens. Spent over 40 mins with staff ringing other branches who also did not know how to get through the touch screens. All this should have been checked out before hand you have had 364 days to get it right. Bad performance especially with all your press statemetns saying Tesco Supports the armed forces & veterans. It should not be left it out without any backup.

New every day low price tag is just price manipulation

New every day low price tag is just manipulation to make the public think Tesco is actually doing their bit to help us all with the cost of living.
I buy at least 6 of these new low price products and all of them had the exaxt price of the new low price previous to this piece of kidology from the masters of kidology Tesco. Most of these new low price products always had a price reduction every so often but now they remain at the same old price thus denying us of the benifits of special offers.
Throught their range they must be hundreds if not more products that until the introduction of the new low price alway had offers throughout the year. Customers are now being denied that benifit. How much extra turnover are Tesco making by stopping offers on many many products.Tesco are not helping their customers with this sceme. They, as usual are only lining their own pockets.
Come on Tesco stop all this blindsiding and just be truthful.

I was wondering if tesco had been taken…

I was wondering if tesco had been taken over, my last few deliveries the quality of some products were awful, my last delivery the bleach had burst. I put the stuff in the sink then seen my t-shirt was ruined. I was told I had to take pictures to the store and start a complaints procedure.
Also I only got 90p refund for all the damages because I used vouchers ie 13p for fresh plum tomatoes.
Tesco has always been more expensive than most other online stores but the quality was mostly guaranteed but now it’s terrible. So no more Tesco for me. I give credit to the drivers, and the customer service call centre need the patience of a saint.

Appalling profit hungry non customer focused

Online shopping delivery failed to arrive, took the money and at 22:30 said they had delivered the shopping. This was 4 hours after they should have delivered it.
We had been ringing customer service from 18:25 and told it would arrive, called at 20:00 and at 21:30. Told every time it was definitely coming, at 22:30 got told it wasn’t.
This company has put profits over providing a basic service.
Clubcard has been scaled back and is essentially worthless, miserable staff in stores and online delivery (when it arrives).
This is the 5th time Tesco has wasted my time.
I cannot sustain spending my hard earned money on an incompetent profit focused business.
Avoid at all costs.

Tesco customer services is getting worse

Tesco services is getting worse. Ive had so many mistakes in the past such as their staff putting the same item through the scan twice and myself suffering the cost as I had mislaid the receipt.
On this occasion I missed being able to add to a shopping order by minutes, so I was forced into making another delivery time slot and making another separate order. After reluctantly paying for two deliveries within one hour of each other (£4.50 x 2) £9, Tesco's then decided to arrive with both deliveries at the same time/wanting to deliver all at the same time? they thought this was exceptable to make one delivery but then charge the customer for two deliveries, this was the decision of the deliveries supervisor I was informed? her name I spoke to was Vicky. whilst the driver was unhappy I'm sure I wouldn't think it was advisable to be rude and just drive off with no manners at all, he also did not inform me of 3 unavailables either before speeding off irresponsibly in the tescos van.
I'm sure that is what Customers services is therefore? making sure that Customers don't suffer through an error or sometimes unavoidable mistakes. Looking after the Loyal Customers who had been shopping there for over 30yrs. No care, thought or exceptions to these loyal customers.

The driver when arriving hammered at my front door, he did not knock and politely wait for the reply, he just hammered and hammered till I opened the door, he stood there as a representative of Tesco's in scruffy shorts and a scruffy black vest? As a representative of Tesco's (Though hot) a more suitable Tesco's uniform would be more appropiate, not dressed like he had just walked from a heavy pub session.
Staff are mean't to wear a uniform or at least a hi-viz vest I'm sure? because of safety on building sites and the work place we are all to wear PPE?

Tesco Click and Collect

I visited St Neots Store to collect my click and collect order which I paid £2 for.
I queued for 40 minutes behind many other cars, there was just 2 colleagues on duty, clearly not able to cope.
It was over 30 degrees and I saw crates and stacks of shopping left out in the sun. Clearly the cold chain was broken and my shopping chilled products were warm. I respectfully suggested the colleague to call his duty manager to get help.
It is impossible to phone the branch to complain. Tesco make it as difficult as possible to complain about service through any media. I now understand their dreadful trust pilot rating

Just had some Tesco's strawberries

Just had some Tesco's strawberries. Hard & crunchy and revoltingly sour. What have they made the growers do to the modern fruit, they were foul. If they were the first strawberrie I'd ever had I wouldn't be eating them again. Utterly disgusting.

TESCO crooks!

They are absolute crooks. I put an order and they say they have delivered. I called and waited more than 30 minutes to go through their stupid chatbots and then they tell me "oops, we didn't deliver ... please don't shout at me that we said we delivered, took the money but we didn't deliver."

APPAULING SERVICE.

I have everything recorded.
