Connor is a brilliant accountant. I am very grateful to have him managing my business finances. No only does Connor answer all my questions thoroughly (no matter how silly I sound!), but he explains every action he has undertaken for my accounts and provides alternative options for me. Thank you Connor for your tremendous work and personality!

They operate by getting the customer or software essentially to do much of their book keeping for them, then get the customer to do some of it again and again, as their staff keep changing and they inexplicable never seem to find everything. There are so many queries sent it's unbelievable, when they already have the info, usually several times on different platforms.
Very slow, deadlines keep being missed. They do not let you know essentials such as missed payments. They do not even look at most of what I send them, hence they keep asking for more and more. It's a terrible service overall, but the Accountants themselves are fine when it eventually gets to them or it would have been 1 star.
Even leaving them took weeks and I ended up finding many of the docs for the new accountant because they failed to do much in all that time!! Terrible!

really helped get my company back on track financially. Didn't have a good fit with the first accountant, but they swapped straightaway and I get on great with the new one. Admin are incredible. Only thing that stopped it going to five stars is the cost - for single person ltd companies, it is quite expensive.

Our Experience:
We have been clients of TAP since mid-2025 and experienced four separate service failures in under a year: payroll errors (missed NEST pension submission, delayed payroll, missing employee), an incorrectly debited direct debit, broken written commitments, and a 15+ week delay on our annual accounts with the responsible accountant going on annual leave the day before our Companies House deadline.
What I want this review to do is give other struggling clients the tools to protect themselves, because The Accountancy Partnership rely on most people not knowing their rights. And anyone thinking of going with TAP.
[A]. IF YOU ARE ALREADY WITH TAP AND HAVING ISSUES:
I've been in this situ a few times unfortunately. Trying to get them to do anything or even communicate with you is extremely difficult. These are the best key escalation levers I had to use to get anything done:
1. Their T&Cs - Clause 11.0.9
This is their contractual obligation: "We will provide our professional services with reasonable care and skill and will always make every effort to ensure you meet the relevant deadlines." Cite this in writing when they fail.
2. Their professional body - ICPA
TAP are regulated by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants, membership no. 1805. File a formal complaint at icpa.org.uk. This is the one that actually concerns them professionally (Submit, even if short - every report counts)
3. Their Professional Indemnity insurer - Markel UK Limited
This is the one they don't advertise. If you suffer financial loss (fines, penalties) due to their negligence, you can pursue a claim against their PI insurance. Markel UK Limited is the insurer. Keep every email.
4. Consumer Rights Act 2015
Services must be delivered with reasonable care and skill. If they aren't, you have statutory rights. Trading Standards and the Competition and Markets Authority are both valid referral routes given the pattern of harm visible across their reviews.
Practical advice: document everything in writing, send a formal Letter Before Action before escalating, and do not accept verbal promises - get everything confirmed by email.
If internal escalation fails, address correspondence directly to Lee Murphy, Founder and Managing Director.
[B]. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF SIGNING UP WITH TAP:
Please read the 1 star reviews before you decide. My honest advice - don't. Here is what other reviewers report over the past 12 months:
1. Slow or no response - weeks or months without a reply: 19 reviews
2. Errors in accounts or tax returns: 10 reviews
3. Missed deadlines, late filing, or fines received: 9 reviews
4. Accountant out of office with no cover: 8 reviews
5. Hidden fees or unexpected charges: 7 reviews
6. Clients left to do the work themselves: 5 reviews
Former employees on Glassdoor report 200-300 clients per staff member. Their words: "unmanageable." Make of that what you will.
This is not a case of one bad accountant. It is a firm-wide operational problem.
The volume of 5 star reviews does not reflect the pattern you will find if you read carefully. Draw your own conclusions.

Corporation tax done for another year and once again I've had excellent service from Dean Saunders at The Accountancy Partnership. Everything is handled in good time, I've never had to chase for anything, and he's been incredibly responsive to any ad-hoc queries I've sent through. The Accountancy Partnership are great value for money.

I have been a customer of The Accountancy Partnership for over 4 years, and would like to highlight how friendly and efficient, members of the Admin' Team have been in dealing with my enquiries. They have always quickly answered the telephone or replied to emails, in a respectful, approachable manner, which can be quite a rarity these days!
As well as recognising the efforts of the Admin' Team, I would also like to highlight the service provided by my accountant, Daniel (Dan) Egerton. In contrast to the quite dismissive, sometimes condescending approach displayed by my previous accountant who ran their own company, Dan is both approachable and always willing to help with any questions I may have. In addition, he has always efficiently submitted my company accounts in a timely manner, keeping me suitably updated at every stage of the process.
I therefore have absolutely no hesitation in recommending both Dan and The Accountancy Partnership to any prospective clients.
Many thanks and well done to all members of the Admin' Team in general, and Dan in particular for all your help over the years!

Callum from The Accountancy Partnership recently filed my year-end accounts and made the whole process really straightforward. Callum was excellent throughout — clear, helpful and efficient, and he made everything feel simple from start to finish.
A very smooth experience and I’d happily recommend him to anyone looking for reliable accountancy support.

Prospective clients beware: watch out for unfair contract terms, hidden clauses, additional price increases (no pre-notice) and being locked into upfront fees that they will refuse to refund if you object to their sudden price hikes. They refuse to refund for any pre-payment made even if they didn't carry the service.
We have been clients of this firm since 2020, and our experience has been deeply disappointing. We were set up on a direct debit of £216.50 per month, which we were explicitly told covered all required fees for our annual accounts, payroll, etc. They pre-charged us for a year's worth of payments upfront.
After a year and a half, when it came time to file our annual accounts, they suddenly demanded an extra c.£5,000+ to complete the service. This brought their total cost to over £6,000 just for the filing of annual accounts —nearly three times the market rate for a business of our size. To make matters worse, our accounts are fully organized and digital via QuickBooks, leaving no justification for such an exorbitant "extra" fee.
When we questioned on the extra fee, they said we can terminate our service but they will refuse to refund the fees we had already pre-paid for 2025 and 2026. Below is what they said: As outlined at the start of our engagement and detailed in our Terms and Conditions Full Terms and Conditions - The Accountancy Partnership (Section 3.0.1) No monthly payments will be refunded to you at any time and cannot be transferred, regardless of whether you have used our services or not, or if your year-end procedure has been performed or not.
However for your reference, under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and broader contract law, any clause that allows a firm to retain advanced payments for services they have not and will not provide is deemed an unfair contract term and is legally unenforceable. Retaining these funds constitutes a total failure of consideration and unjust enrichment.
For context on their level of service: in six years, we have received the bare minimum support and minimal communication . We have now moved to a new firm that is handling the exact same accounts for £1,800 total.

Zoe was very patient, informative, and took the time to explain everything clearly while making the necessary adjustments. She presented different options and helped me make an informed decision without feeling pressured. As a small business owner who is not originally from the UK, I really appreciated her support and guidance. Thank you, Zoe and TAP!
