Fab Customer Service - Easy to use website and when it does go wrong (username/password issue) they actually answer their phones within a few rings (remember that approach?!) and could not be more helpful.

Food safety course.
I have just completed a food safety course with The Safer Food Group. My daughter and I are coeliac. I am very concerned that they say, “coeliac is a food intolerance”. It isn’t! It is an auto immune condition. Unfortunately, this happens so often. Once again, such poor education on Coeliac Disease. Hopefully people will do their own research on this and not take this kind of misinformation.

Hi Sally, many thanks for your feedback. I believe you're referring to the Allergy Awareness course, so we've checked the course material just to check we're on the right track. Because we're aware that coeliac disease is a very serious condition, we cover it separately in the following two paragraphs, that read: 'Coeliac disease is a well defined, serious illness where the body's immune system attacks itself when gluten is consumed. This causes damage to the lining of the and means that the body cannot properly absorb nutrients from food. Coeliac disease is not a food allergy, it is an auto immune disease' and later 'Coeliac disease is also triggered by the immune system. The reaction to gluten causes damage to the lining of the small intestine, disrupting the body's ability to absorb nutrients from food....' The word 'intolerance' is used in general sense within a paragraph that explains that not all illness caused by food are due to allergies.
Hopefully this helps - we do try to ensure that all of our training is both accurate and accessible for all of our learners, so while we don't always cover all conditions in great medical detail, we do try to describe their main causes and symptoms correctly.
