Great serviceWe took our motorhome to Timberland
We took our motorhome to Timberlands, wanting a quote for 2 new taps. We ended up putting a deposit down on a new burnster. This is the second motorhome I have purchased from Timberland in less than 10 years. Matt was extremely helpful, and friendly, he allowed us time to look in detail around the new van,on our own, and all our questions were answered. We have also been given a great part exchange price for our 13 year old van. The staff have pulled out all the stops to get our new van registered and the extras we required fitted to the van so that we can take it with us on a holiday that had already been booked. When we collect the van on Friday, it will be just 14 days since we agreed the purchase. Throughout the last 10 days we have recieved updates on what is happening and at no time has anyone used high pressure sales tactics. So far the experience we have had with Timberland has been very efficient and easy. I will post again and let you all know how the transfer goes.
Brilliant service
Brilliant service whilst purchasing and as well as aftercare. We came to view several motorhomes to get a feel for the different types we might like, then returned several weeks later and purchased a motorhome. They were so accommodating and not at all pushy on our visits. They just wanted to provide us with a van that met both our needs as mother and daughter buying together. Highly recommend. Lovely selection of vans for multiple price ranges. Thanks Emily and Cath
Do not trust this company
Do not trust this company. Im in dispute with them over a 2000 pound deposit we paid for a new motorhome that was due to be delivered in June, now they say July. We left a deposit on the understanding that it would be returned if my partners operation was to have ongoing treatment which unfortunately it is. We took Tony by his word. Now Lee is saying we havent got a leg to stand on. absolutly awefull customer care at a very stressful time in our livesx
Excellent service and aftercare provided by Lee, Julian and Kerri. Nothing is too much trouble
Lee and Julian and Kerri spent time with me ensuring we found the perfect motorhome to meet all my requirements. There was no pressure to make a quick decision the emphasis was getting the layout, size, right and coming in on budget.
Julian took me out to test drive the one I choose and allowed me to drive it to my home address to ensure parking it was easily achieved. They sorted out a good deal for me, sorted out an extended warranty so i have peace of mind. They are doing some modifications to the motorhome to meet my needs due to my disability. Nothing as been too much trouble, they have been very patient and reassuring. It’s a big decision buying a Motorhome to use on my own, they are helping me source an new mattress and a dual automatic regulator that changes gas bottle over when empty.
Fantastic service
We bought our first ever Motorhome 18 months ago , and we decided that we wanted a Motorhome with a different layout , so we went back to Timberland, as we had a couple of models in mind . We met up with Lee , and he showed us round the models we were interested in , brought us out nice coffees , and explained to us , all the features of the models , we were interested in . We eventually decided on buying a brand new Swift Voyager 594 , which we will be collecting in a few weeks time , excellent service , definitely recommended
Avoid
Avoid! I was told by the pushy sales man my campervan would be ready to collect in 2 weeks. 5 weeks later, I was told it was ready. My Easter plans scuppered.
No contact from anyone to update me.
If I rang for an update, I was told someone would get back to me, they never did. I suspect there are issues with staffing..I have requested my £2.000 deposit back, but they refused.
I wouldn't have paid it if I knew I'd be waiting 5 weeks rather than the 2 I was told.
CUSTOMERS NOTICE
CUSTOMERS NOTICE
I know the owner of Timberland Motorhomes, as a company they refuse to subscribe to trustpilot. Unfortunately they cannot respond to the reviews good or bad.
Any company can come up against customers you can't always keep happy, no they are not perfect and they do have staff that sometimes I have to question but deep down I feel the staff do there best.
The worst thing about motorhomes are sometimes getting parts, even more so since covid. As specialist parts are that and are at the hands of the manufacturers.
The owner of the company gives his personal mobile and email to every customer who purchases. Customers sometimes love to complain, some of the complaints on here are not actually customers and the other few have never made contact.
Timberland Motorhomes do there best for all customers. The staff know there is a problem if a customer has had to contact the owner.
Any customer who is genuine can contact the owner with on the personal letter you will received when purchasing your motorhome.
Horrendous shysters- Rip off merchants
Cannot praise these shysters even though they offered £50 for us to do so.We spent near on £70k on a brand new motorhome and they ripped us off tremendously with our part ex.They left ONE mile of diesel in the tank and it was longer than that to the nearest station. An EMPTY gas bottle, fobbed us off with the faults we found on the van and got very uppity with us when we questioned them. Would rather rip my eyes out than ever go back to this joint.AVOID even if they offer a free brand new van - it’s not worth the aggro. Horrendous company.Terrible customer service and no respect when you have given them your life savings.
Warranty visit
Bought our 1st brand new motorhome from Timberland in October ‘23. We traded in our previous Burstner which had ironically come from Timberland originally.
I’ve just returned home from having some warranty work done and wanted to praise Lee, Julian , Aaron and team for looking after us. They have been attentive and ensured that they got to the root of our problems.
From my experience ,and as a long standing Motorhome owner, a motorhome has a lot of parts that can go wrong and there is always something that needs some attention at some point.
I have always communicated any issues (if dealer based) to Timberland and they have always responded.
Thanks guys , keep it up.
Today we were meant to be buying a car…
Today we were meant to be buying a car off these guys. We live over 1.5 hours away. We had a phone call at 10.30 to be made aware someone else was coming to look at the car at 1pm ... We were already on our way and were told "the balls in your court". Half an hour into our journey another call came being told we would have to wait till 2pm to see the car as he had other appointments, that's fine we will wait around chesterfield area and kill some time. 1pm comes, another phone call telling us to wait till 2.30, once again the car was worth the wait so we were happy to wait another 30 mins, with the impression the car was ours if we came to view it.
2.28 - 3 minutes down the road from the shop, finally on our way, another phone call. "Car has been sold by a colleague sorry"
1. Why couldn't we see said colleague ?
2. Why was the car sold when the 'ball was in our court'
3. What a waste of a day, no apologies no nothing. A whole day spent pissing about for this one car, only to be told 4.5 hours after we set off that the car was sold.
Poor customer service, poor management, poor communication.
What a waste of time. Unless you're looking for an overpriced caravan DON'T waste your time like we have !
An absolute disgrace
An absolute disgrace , purchased a brand new motorhome for 92k . After getting to their premise following a 51/2 hour train journey the motorhome had a smashed back light and a wiper blade missing plus was extremely dirty on the outside . I had to wait an hour for them to take the light and wiper blade off another motorhome , then they were so rude just left the keys on the desk and walked off, I had to go and ask the receptionist for a receipt . There was just enough diesel to get me to the nearest garage 13 miles worth of diesel . After getting it home and taking it out it was so bad I employed had an independent motorhome assessor to inspect it and his report itemised 34 faults , the worst being leaking badly through door . I rejected the vehicle within the legal timescale but, as it was paid for in full they didn’t accept and then wouldn’t reply . I took legal advice the solicitor wrote a letter which they ignored . Eventually the solicitor advised if I took them to court it could take up to 18 months and be very expensive . I part ex the motorhome at a loss of £11,000.00p after only using the motorhome twice . This company are a disgrace to the trade and I would advise people not to deal with them there are far better motorhome dealers around , if you do it will be a costly experience ! I have had 7 brand new Motorhomes and never experienced anything like this , they must be the worst company in Britain by far .
Buyer beware
Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
Very nice till they take your money.
Not a good motorhome, too many faults on collection.
Hand built by amatures on basic wages.
Buyer beware.
Ignore this at your own cost.
I have noticed that Timberland are now as previously, getting staff and friends to post positive reviews for them. Well they won't get them otherwise.
Excellent customer service and wide range of stock
Excellent customer service and lovely staff. Not given the hard sell but listens to what you are looking for. Good knowledge of vehicles sold.
This is our second purchase would highly recommend timberlands
Motorhome buying
Julian who dealt with us was so helpful, even though we live a couple of hundred miles away he sorted a couple of small problems out .
Would recommend this company to anyone wanting a motorhome.
All the staff where pleasant and helpful.
Please dont get involved with these…
Please dont get involved with these guys
Aftersales are shocking. Excuse after excuse. Lie after lie.
Dont sort issues.
Everyones always on holiday.
Wish I had never got involved
AVOID !!!
We purchased a brand new motorhome from them last year and it was the biggest regret we’ve ever done. After sales are zero, it was once we’d payed your at their mercy.as pensioners I’m so glad i had great family support to help me
So many issues the van turned out to be not fit for purpose, not what you’d expect when spending over £64,000
They are full of fake promises we had six months of them fobbing us off in the end we took legal advice and on the very last minute they agreed to settle out of court
If there’s one thing I must say is AVOID and go to else where !!!!!!
This company I’d rate a Zero from start to finish
Excellent service from start to finish
Excellent service from start to finish. Our sales person
Connor was extremely helpful very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Can not wait to collect our motorhome and begin our new adventure. Connor is a great ambassador for the company.
Patricia Whitaker.
Very good experience
Went for a look around as were thinking of buying a Motorhome. Explained we were newbies to Connor who took the time to explain and answer all our queries and even told us what to look out for should we buy from a private seller. Ended up buying ! Connor was friendly and helpful throughout and did not pressure us. I like that we were left to look around without being bothered . Can’t wait to fetch the van
There as about as much use as a fart in…
There as about as much use as a fart in an astronaut suit zero friendly no communication skills
Inviting friendly pay and sign your purchase = Motorhome not fit for purpose and a very long time to get repairs (16) completed
We had dreamed of purchasing a motorhome as nearly retired and wanted to explore the UK and Ireland. We were first time buyers and was dependant on the the sales team being helpful and supportive; in the beginning was but after purchase very unhelpful and uncaring.
Went to Timberland and had a good look around and decided to purchase one of their motorhomes.
Managing Director said its all good and the mechanic gave us a tour of the motorhome and a very brief demonstration inside the motorhome (under Covid restrictions).
The motorhome was not hooked up to electric but the gas was. Was showed the gas hob working but not the oven. Was not showed water pump heating shower sinks x2 etc. The motorhome stated on its description that it had an electric step and reversing camera. No camera was there and electric step had been replaced by a manual one.
Went to pick up our motorhome paid the balance and drove it home. At home checked all systems and this is what we had:
1. Pump was broke so not hot/cold running water
2. TV antenna was broke
3. Had manual step up not electric
4. Had no reversing camera
5. Shower tray all cracked and if shower had been working would have flooded inside and would cause underfloor damage and dampness
6. Main door lock was broken
7. Door fly screen damaged
8. Lock to Storage Gas Toilet Cassette Water tank all seized up so could not open
9. Oven did not work - needed a thermocouple
10. Blinds on windows did not work
11. Heating did not work
12. Fusebox kept continually tripping
13. Bathroom Sink in under cupboard was leaking
14. Bathroom sink tap broken
15. Toilet would not flush
16. Waste tap underneath broken
Contacted the mechanic and they said to return the motorhome list the jobs that was required and they would repair under warranty.
Returned the motorhome and waited a good 6 weeks than was contacted by the mechanic, saying all done come and collect.
On arrival, the Managing Director and another sales person said, the mechanic will bring the motorhome around and all our repairs completed. Sadly on inspection no jobs had been carried out.
Told mechanic to keep the motorhome until all jobs were repaired. 1 month passed and some jobs repaired except the shower tray had not been repaired, also all locks still seized up.
Had no choice had to report Timberland to Trading Standards and they had 1 month to repair everything, which they did. This experience was stressful and frustrating.
If you are considering purchasing a motorhome from Timberland think it through make sure all motorhome functions are in good working order before any money is exchanged.
However, once you have purchased aftercare and sales is dismissive and the Managing Director will not help or care about you.
The mechanic did repair all the jobs outstanding and we really felt like they were very undervalued and taken for granted by the management.
Our motorhome was not fit for purpose at the beginning, repairs were done, but you have to be prepared to wait and in our case take them to Trading Standards.
Really think before choosing a Timberland Motorhome. Very obliging at the sales and purchase stage, not very helpful and caring at the aftersales stage stage.
