Tradewinds Oriental Shop is a family run business specialising in providing the finest food and drinks, furniture, and kitchenware from Asia. Established in 1984, we first commenced trading at our local market in Scunthorpe selling a small selection of basic Chinese cooking ingredients and a variety of Oriental Arts and Crafts. After 2 years there was sufficient demand to open a small shop on Mary Street, Scunthorpe. Demand soon dictated a move to larger premises and in 1991 we moved to our current premises on Cole Street, Scunthorpe. Tradewinds Oriental Shop has continued to grow and in 2008 we launched our online website offering consumers within the UK and Europe the opportunity to purchase our products at the click of a button. Demand for Asian food and drink has continued to grow in popularity over the years which have led to the expansion of our current shop and warehouse premises in recent years. We now stock over 5000 products from across Asia. Our inventory will continue to grow with new lines becoming available both online and in our shop on a weekly basis. We remain passionate and great effort goes into sourcing and finding the best authentic ingredients and providing these to all our customers within the UK and around the World.

Excellent customer service.
Couldn't be happier and I don't see myself using another company ever again for these sorts of purchases. A minor issue that was the fault of the couriers was handled quickly and efficiently, which is all you can ask for.
Excellent selection of products at the best prices around. I've recommended them to all of my friends and will continue to use them going forward.

Third time ordering from Tradewinds now. Wide selection of Asian groceries, at competitive prices. Easy website to navigate, clear communication of all stages of the process and quick delivery. This was the first time I had to reach out to customer service about a damaged good and received prompt and satisfying assistance. Strongly recommend shopping with Tradewinds and have no hesitance to return again every time I need supplies.

The kikoman is fake and I want my money…
The kikoman is fake and I want my money back. You have have it back and give me back my money. The packaging was rubbish and I am worried what IS INSIDE it. If you give me back my money, I’d remove this review. I wish I could upload the label so everybody knows it’s fake and won’t repeat my mistake.

Delivery errors by the retailer
I placed an order before the Christmas deadline as one item was intended as a gift. Although I received a parcel before Christmas, it contained another customer’s order, and my own order had been sent to them instead, along with my name and address.
I was given a prepaid “returns” label, which turned out to be a redirection label, sending the parcel directly to the other customer. My parcel was similarly redirected back to me and eventually arrived in January. It was heavily damaged, had been opened, and several items were missing.
Despite photo evidence, I was initially told the other customer had confirmed all items were present, which felt like an implication that I was being dishonest. It took several days to resolve. I was first offered replacements and a 5% discount, which I declined due to serious concerns about food items being sent on after potential tampering.
I was eventually refunded for the missing items and delivery, which felt like the bare minimum given the errors. This was very disappointing, as I’ve ordered before and genuinely wanted to continue supporting them due to their otherwise great range.

Extremely disappointing. 0 service. No refund
Very disappointing. Ordered a big parcel of products including fresh vegetables near Christmas, paid a big delivery fee. When FedEx lied about delivery failure I had to deal with FedEx myself, even arranging for parcel return to the shop so I get refunded. Spent the whole day before Christmas trying to deal with fedex and get 0 support from the shop. Contacted the shop and they did nothing other than saying repeatedly “it’s holiday so delivery might be delayed”, as if FedEx is their customer not me, the one who pays them. 2 weeks gone and no products, no refund, no communication . They just want to take your money and have 0 accountability for failure of the service they arranged themselves. Feel like I have been robbed, in addition to a Christmas ruined

Kafir lime leaves. Flavour is good, and the price. Arrived in 48 hours less than a week before Christmas.
Worked out much cheaper than buying local , or on Amazon.
