Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 83 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently struggle with unhelpful customer service representatives, long waiting times on the phone, and overwhelming difficulties when trying to resolve urgent booking issues. People also report unexpected extra fees added at the counter and face major hurdles when attempting to secure proper refunds or alter their travel reservations. Though some travelers faced significant challenges with their itineraries, a small group of reviewers were happy with smooth booking processes and successful trips. These visitors noted that certain hotel stays and flights proceeded entirely without any complications, successfully providing adequate information, transparent rates, and reliable experiences.

Extremely disappointing experience with…

Extremely disappointing experience with Travelocity. After multiple calls with long hold times, we were repeatedly told that in order to even try to get a refund from the airline, we had to cancel our flights first. We trusted that information and canceled. After hours of follow-ups, emails, and calls, we learned we would only receive a partial refund, and only for part of the hotel. No refund for the flights. Had we known this upfront, we would have absolutely kept the flights. Being given conflicting information, spending hours on hold, and then being left with a financial loss is beyond frustrating. This experience shows a serious lack of transparency and accountability.

Travelocity is 10/10

I initially booked a package to Lagos, Nigeria along with my mom. We purchased flight tickets as well as a week-long stay at a beach resort. About a week later we received emails stating the resort we booked was permanently closing and we needed to book somewhere else for our stay. After some slight confusion about who to contact for help, I was connected with the most helpful customer service rep - Brian. He not only found us better accommodations at a better hotel - Travelocity comped the difference in price which was about $700. I couldn't believe it. I will definitely be using Travelocity again.

No Customer Service. Webpage is unreliable.

Don't use Travelocity for air tickets EVER. I have been using them exclusively for the last 30 years, but today I bought Sun Country air tickets and after buying them, realized that I would have to pay $100 a person for CARRY ON luggage. So I cancelled that flight and purchased tickets on Southwest airlines. When I went to my email, there was a cancelation receipt from Sun Country, but no purchase receipt from Travelocity or Southwest airlines. So I went to the Travelocity webpage under"My Trips" and only the Sun Country tickets were listed (the ones I cancelled) but the Southwest airlines (that I wanted) was not. So I did on-ine messaging through Travelocity's webpage which was a joke because they didn't let you tell them the problem you were having. Then I called their customer service, and their automated response service told me to leave my number and they would return my phone call. at 10:15 PM (1.5 hours later) they called. I answered and there was a recorded voice that said to tap 1 for an attendant. I did that and I am still on line after 30 minutes listening to elevator music. Why did they call me back if they are not ready to talk to me? Why are they making me wait again? I have to go to bed so I won't be able to wait any longer. I really don't know what to do now.

Travelocity not trustworthy.

Rented a car through Travelocity which connected me with Surprice off airport car rental at Hollywood International AirPort. The fee was $665. When I got to the counter extra fees were bien added and I was being pressured to accept EZ Pass Tag at $18 a day, car insurance at $40 a day which tripled the cost that I expected. I had to leave without the car and told the company to cancel the reservation. Later on I called Travelocity to be refunded. They were not of any help. This is unfair business practices. Be aware everyone, rent directly from On Airpot Rental Cars instead of Cheap off Airport.

ZipAir “Business” via Travelocity – Misleading Disclosure, Credit Card Dispute Succeeded TRAVELOCITY NEEDS TO DISCLOSE THE LIMITATION OF ZIPAIR SO CUSTOMER KNOWS WHAT SERVICES HE/SHE WILL RECEIVE

Title: ZipAir “Business” via Travelocity – Misleading Disclosure, Credit Card Dispute Succeeded

TRAVELOCITY NEEDS TO DISCLOSE THE LIMITATION OF ZIPAIR SO CUSTOMER KNOWS WHAT SERVICES HE/SHE WILL GET FOR THE PRICE

I want to share a cautionary experience regarding ZipAir “Business” class tickets purchased through an online travel agency (Travelocity).

ZipAir operates as a low-cost carrier, and its “Business” product differs significantly from traditional long-haul business class. When booked through Travelocity, several important limitations were not clearly disclosed at the time of purchase, leading to reasonable consumer confusion.

Key points travelers should be aware of:
▪ ZipAir “Business” is not a full-service business class product
▪ No blanket, pillow, TV, not even a free bottle of water.
▪ Meals and other services are paid add-ons
▪ Lounge access is not included at NRT
▪ Baggage allowances may be limited or require additional fees
▪ OTA Travelocity listings do not explain these limitations before purchase
After the booking, the gap between expectations and the actual product became clear. Attempts to resolve the issue directly with Travelocity was unsuccessful.

A credit card dispute was filed on the basis of misleading or insufficient disclosure, and the card issuer ruled in favor of the customer, issuing a full refund the disputed amount.

Takeaway:
If you are considering ZipAir “Business” class, do not assume it is comparable to traditional business class. If booking through an OTA, read all disclosures carefully; in this case of Travelocity, it did NOT specify at all about the missing services.

Posting this so others can make an informed decision.

I've used Travelocity quite a bit for the past 10 years and actually never had a problem...until about a year ago and most recently 2 months ago... booked what I thought was Oct 29 2025 but turned out to be 2026..was luckily able to get a room that night but not lucky enough to cancel my 2026 nights stay and get refunded for it!! Will now go thru the hassle of finding and booking directly with the hotel, motel, car rental co, or airline!!!

Does Not Stand Up for Customer

Cheap flights, but Travelocity chooses to do business with sleazy companies like Fox Rent a Car, then doesn't stand up for the customer. Fox conned us into accepting hundreds of dollars in extras such as insurance and road side assistance, which we did not need or want. We had been traveling for 19 hours and were exhausted. It was our fault that we didn't read the long, long contract, but Fox chose to slip in the extra charges. We thought we had paid for everything through Travelocity in advance. We certainly will NEVER use either company again.

Brisas Del Caribe…

Stayed 2 weeks at Brisas Del Caribe Varadero Cuba, was very relaxing and enjoyable. Resort is under new management with, Raul bringing positive energy to the staff. Ivan is entertainment director and brings great shows and talented musicians for guests to enjoy. The dance troup under direction of Suset, the "Varadero Fiesta Show "present very professional dance shows. Our pool bartender "Augustin "makes your day a lot of fun with his wit and service. Food was good and plentiful. Alacarte restaurant "Illusions" is very nice to enjoy Chef Mama's creations. Can't forget about Jorge the omelette king with his positive energy and interactions with guests. Brisas is also introducing "Pickleball "for guests to enjoy . Beach activities are daily on the beach and bar is open. Looking forward to April for another great experience. Also thanks to our maid for the great room service.

My flights booking from Sydney to…

My flights booking from Sydney to Singapore to Zurich and return in Business class was all good in April this year.
No issues with any flights, check ins all went smoothly.
I guess all the negative reviews are when things go wrong like changing your flights etc, but if you are fixed with your travels and don’t change anything I would say they are excellent.

Never use them

Never use them. It’s a scam!! You book, might have to cancel, then they keep your money, tell you it’s some policy of theirs all the while I have the actual airline telling me my flight credits are still valid. All these slurpee slingers at customer service call centers must get a bonus for screwing over the customer! BUYER BEWARE! you’d be good to watch the movie The Bee Keeper before dealing with Travelocity so you know what you’re dealing with!

DONT DONT EVER USE TRAVELOCITY

DONT DONT EVER USE TRAVELOCITY. I booked a hotel through them and paid for a protection plan. I called a week before to postpone for one week with a good reason. They would not postpone, would not refund and wanted a very high penalty for me to postpone. Took them 5 days to deny my request.

Extremely Disappointing Online Chat Support Experience

I had a terrible experience with your online chat support team. My first chat was with Mariela, who was unresponsive for long periods — it seemed like she was taking breaks during the conversation. After over an hour of waiting with little progress, I asked to speak with a supervisor, and she disconnected the chat instead.

I then got connected to Rawan, who said he would review the previous chat to assist me. After taking considerable time, he still got the flight information completely wrong. When I again asked to speak with a supervisor, he also disconnected me. Following that, I had to wait another 85 minutes just to reach the next representative.

When I finally called in by phone, Tina was extremely professional and resolved my issue quickly and efficiently — exactly how customer service should be handled.

I urge you to review the chat transcripts to confirm my experience and assess whether this aligns with your customer service policies and procedures. Please ensure your chat support agents receive proper training and accountability. Competent, responsive support staff make a huge difference — Tina demonstrated that.

THEY WILL NOT REFUND

THEY WILL NOT REFUND. DO NOT USE. It's a scam. The package looked like a good deal as I priced for 2 people on a flight and a hotel package, but after booking, the 2nd person was no where to be found and if you choose the package price on the hotel, it states non refundable, however throughout the site, it states 24 hours refundable. It is NOT! Do not trust. The hotel portion was $460, not a portion, not a hold, the entire stay 3 months in advance! I canceled within 15 minutes after realizing their error in not including the 2nd persons flight so I canceled the package in hopes of rebooking to make sure the 2nd person was included this time. I was charged 2 separate charges in a "package"! Then denied a refund for the hotel stay that again is 3 months away when I canceled the package within 15 minutes.

I cant say how dissapointed I am with…

I cant say how dissapointed I am with Travelocity, We had to cancel some tickets due to Visa problems and I was told its ok we will give you a credit. You have 12 months to use it and it has to be on the same airline. When i came to book they said I have to book within 4 months so we thought we could book before that and go within the 12 months. When we came to book they said we have to be back within the 4 month timeframe. Apparently the 12 month period started from when we booked the ticket. So we change our plans and then went to book from Australia to Bangkok. Then they said no you have to fly from the original country where the original tickets was leaving from. Every time we tried to use our credit they came up with another reason why we could not use it. We will now contack the airline direct but I feel it will be the same result. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN

I had a horrible experience when mis-booking the trip and accidentally choosing the wrong date. I even had protection coverage through travel guard which denied the claim! ‘Booking error’ wasn’t a good enough reason for claim coverage! Travelocity was not helpful to change the date of the booking and the hotel itself couldn’t alter the date due to booking through Travelocity!! DON’T use TRAVELOCITY or waste your time with TRAVEL GUARD!

Very Poor Service

They do not stand behind the clients for erroneous charges.
Booked a hotel through travelocity got multiple confirmations, get to the hotel after 6 hours of driving and the hotel says i have no reservation. Says travelocity never made a reservation, paid for a room at that moment and later found out the hotel charged me for the original reservation.
Travelocity refuses to fix the situation, they are suggesting i pursue the hotel for a refund (hotel refuses) for a reservation booked on their site. They are happy to take your business but wont do anything to protect you.
