Can’t get rid of calendar dates pop up
I can’t see any details of reviews, even my own, without being asked for dates on when I would like to stay somewhere. 😡. Why can’t I close the calendar down with an X in the corner or something. This is making the website unusable. Terrible design of website
Fraud Advisor - AKA Trip Advisor!
They are their own con! Yes, they are in receipt of revenue from the venues we review, and if they want to they will take down reviews, and do, on anything that impacts their revenue! All it needs (as I know and have proven) is for the owner, who also pays the platform to advertise, to contact them, lie and say, ''This negative review is untrue'', and Trip Advisor will take it down! I have contacted them, and they claim they take any reports of company fraud in reviewing seriously. Rubbish! They encourage it! How can a platform receive payment, and effectively be employed by a company, however big or small, and then be unbiased with reviews for that company? All that company will do is say, ''Right, we are not advertising with you any more!'' That is the issue. Hence, no review can ever be trusted as being TRUE on Trip advisor! Oh, and they also (as reported here before) boast that they use computer software to 'detect' suspicious reviews. Really??? Any software, today, has cookies, and anyone can be traced if they use the same browser, etc. And, yes, anyone writing lots of reviews can be spotted. But, this nonsense is one of their many excuses for allowing fraud from the company! It means if one leaves a genuine, negative review, as I did, and it gets flagged, and they bother to make contact, and false claim one can edit, and it will go back, they BLOCK! Yet, as with the White Horse, East Runton. the owner is known for getting his staff and friends to leave fake reviews. The local council are taking action, the local residents are taking action, yet Trip Advisor takes down every one of the reviews, from the very many who write the truth, because they take money in revenue!

Comedy of Errors
If you’re looking for a stay that combines the charm of a bygone era with the quirks of a comedy sketch, look no further than the Blair Atholl Hotel. Nestled in the picturesque village of Blair Atholl, this hotel offers an experience you won’t soon forget—no matter how hard you try!
The Room: Upon entering, I was greeted by a mattress that felt like a soggy marshmallow. If you enjoy waking up with a new ache every morning, this is the place for you, sleep was but a distant dream.
The Bathroom: Ah, the bathroom—a true highlight. The toilet had a charming ring around the rim, a testament to its long and storied history. It was almost like the hotel was trying to preserve a piece of its past, one stain at a time. The bathroom door, meanwhile, looked like it had been used as a scratching post by a very determined dog. It added a rustic touch, reminding me of the great outdoors even while indoors.
The Ambiance: The hotel itself is a delightful mix of old-world charm and modern-day neglect. The creaky floors and dim lighting create an atmosphere that’s perfect for ghost stories. And if you’re lucky, you might even hear the ghost of comfort past, lamenting the state of the mattress.
The Staff: The staff were friendly and accommodating, always ready with a smile and on occasion overcharging.
Overall: If you’re in the mood for an adventure and a good laugh, the Blair Atholl Hotel is the place to be. Just bring your own mattress, a sense of humor, and maybe some cleaning supplies. After all, it’s not every day you get to stay in a place that feels like a live-action sitcom!
Ten Ten Kitchen
Four of us went to the Ten Ten Kitchen in Victoria Park Western Australia for a meal before going to a concert.
I have been there many times. We ordered our food and the entrees came without delay. Then we waited just over half an hour for the mains before asking one of the waitresses how long our mains would be. We were told not long so we waited another ten minutes and asked again and were told it was now being cooked and because we entrees they don't start cooking until people finish them so we waited again and asked again only to be told the mains were now being prepared. As we had no more time left we went to pay for the entrees and leave. Because we were leaving we were loudly abused by the waitress. The abuse continued until we were actually outside. I will never go back there again. The most annoying thing was that other people who came in after us received their mains while they we just finishing their entrees.
Having said all that the service was shocking.

Trip Advisor supports contributors who tell lies
It is with some sadness that I write this review. I have been a Trip Advisor contributor for over 10 years and have written more than 300 reviews. I always thought that Trip Advisor was a great source of information, both positive and negative about properties, restaurants and activities. However, what I didn’t realise was that Trip Advisor will not remove information even when they have been given documentary evidence that proves the information is false.
I recently wrote, on Trip Advisor, a balanced, honest review regarding a hotel that my husband and I stayed at during a recent trip to Calgary. I wrote about the positives and the negatives of this hotel. The General Manager responded with a number of false claims, including that I had called the Front Office Manager names. This is something that simply did not happen. I would never call anyone names. There were a number of other attacks on my character. All of these gave false information. As an honest person who values integrity I was most unhappy with this response.
I contacted Trip Advisor advising them of the fact that these accusations were false. I even provided them with documentary evidence (an email) proving that one of the accusations the General Manager made about me were false. I asked that given the General Manager had lied, that his response be taken down. They refused to do this and just kept telling me that his response met their guidelines. So, it appears that businesses can discredit reviews written about them just by telling lies and this is OK with Trip Advisor. I have read the guidelines and there is no mention that a contributor must give honest information.
Consequently, I have now written my last review on Trip Advisor. I will not support a platform that enables false claims to made about an individual’s character.
Does libel count on the internet ?
I posted a less than complimentary review of a hotel. Their manager, who had no direct involvement with the complaint, then posted a response that was simply not true. I pointed this out to Trip Advisor who said his reply did not breach their standards.
I have closed my account, and will not post further.
Booked a letting via TripAdvisor…
Booked a letting via TripAdvisor Rentals Lanzerote.
The apartment letting was a scam. we arrived very late in the evening to find the apartment was not representative of the photos and turned out to be a run down unhygienic run down, unsanitary structure that could not use. We attempted to book other accommodation in the area but it was near midnight, and could find nothing. The best solution open to us was to to book the earliest flight home which we did,
Trip Advisor Rentals have cover for such a situation, so although we lost over £1000 in flights and taxis, we thought the payment for the apartment would be refunded. It wasn't, Trip advisor rentals sided with the person letting out the apartment. Informed us that we needed to make Trip Advisor aware of the situation on the arrival day. I have requested that they send me screen shots of the links form the booking webpage of how to do this, and will update this report when and if they do this. I have until now used Trip Advisor reports as method of weeding out such scams, so very disappointed to find them part of the exploitation process.
Update, after contact with trip advisor, and the complaint escalated. Trip Advisor did actually refund me. It is not clear if the Property Owner accepted the complaint, I suspect Michaelle from trip Advisor had the major part in this. Thank you Michaelle.
Is it just me?
A couple of months ago I left a 1 star review on a cafe I visited. A week later my review was followed by four 5 star reviews all written by new TripAdvisor reviewers with their 5 star cafe review being the first TripAdvisor review they had ever left.
Since then, whenever I've been looking for recommendations for restaurants/ hotels/cafes I've noticed that this isn't a "one off". I've seen several similar situations with other venues.
If TripAdvisor isn't validating reviews then it's totally pointless even researching places on their website.
Am I alone in "smelling a rat"???
Censored Reviews
Wrote a review on a hotel in Marrakech, which was an accurate account of my experience and observations following a recent stay. From conversations with other guest's at the hotel, their opinions about conditions at the hotel were broadly in line with mine. A day or so after submitting my review I was requested by Trip Adviser to amend my review!!! I now understand why the issues with this hotel were not apparent from reading other reviews on Trip Advisor. They start with the best reviews and work down. You have to search very hard to find issues you should be made aware of.
Negative comments are unwelcome.
Trip Advisor was born of good intention and initially posted a broad spectrum of useful traveller's views from across the world. The company now however thoroughly dislikes any reviews which show any negativity to the tour operators it is partnered with and receiving sales commission from. Yes, a classic case of whoever pays the piper calls the tune.
Tripadvisor Delete Genuine Negative Reviews!
Tripadvisor are totally corrupt with reviews and don’t even blame rejection or deletion on their useless software, which actually IS a problem! The computer programme (I refuse to use their absurd AI term!) stops any review that flags up as questionable, maybe for a word or because it’s being typed on a public computer! THEN, when one re-writes the review the Artificial Dim Wit rejects instantly as it claims someone is repeat reviewing!
This means Trip Advisor allows millions of fake, simple, one line reviews, written by the company’s cronies, and rejects honest complaints!
I left a negative review for The White Horse, East Runton! I left a positive review for The Limes, Fakenham. I deliberately write both identically, with just slight change from poor to good. They didn’t print the negative, yet printed the positive!!! Total scam, and why? Because the company advertises with them!!! AND the owner approaches Trip Advisor to have negative reviews taken down, even when they get past the Dim Wit! I counted 10 negative deletions!!! All honest, all true!
Nobody should believe anything on this sham site, they are the fakes!
Removed an accurate review.…
Been reasonably useful but recently they contacted me to say that they thought I had attributed a review I wrote 9 months previously to the wrong venue. My review was totally accurate as I told them but they removed it. This underlines their unreliability.

Trip Advisor Notifications
I've been a contributor to Trip Advisor for a few years and have always given an honest review, and people seem to find my reviews helpful, however at the moment they are really tormenting me. 10 days ago I was asked to answer a question about a hotel I had stayed in and reviewed. When I opened the feed to the question all I could find was something from 4 months previous and was unable to answer the question. What is really upsetting me is that Trip Advisor have so far sent me SEVEN emails asking me to complete my booking or to set my itinery for the area the hotel is in! I've clicked on 'NO' I don't want any updates more than once and still they are coming in on a daily basis.
